스페인 춤이 발레 [돈키호테]에 미친 영향

Abstract

동서양 어느 민족에게나 존재하며 지방이나 국가에 따라 동작의 특징도 다양한 민속무용은 대중 스스로가 즐기는 즉흥무적인 성격에서 점차 아름다움을 감상하고자 하는 인간의 욕구로 인해 공연무용의 형태로 발전하게 되어 ‘캐릭터 댄스’라는 한 유형을 만들게 된다. 17세기 중엽 발레의 단조로움을 메꾸기 위해 줄거리와는 상관없이 단순히 발레에 삽입되기 시작한 캐릭터 댄스는 19세기 들어서 새로운 발레 테크릭과의 결합으로 예술무용으로서 그 위치를 차지하게 된다. 오늘날 캐릭터 댄스가 발레에 있어서 중요한 부분을 차지하고 예술 무용으로서 독자적인 위치로 자리잡게 되었음을 볼 때, 발레에 관한 연구나 동작 개발을 위해서 민속무용이 캐릭터 댄스로서 발레에 미친 영향을 살펴보는 것은 꼭 필요한 일이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는「돈키호테」라는 작품을 통해 스페인 춤이 캐릭터 댄스로서 발레에 어떠한 영향을 주었는가를 살펴보는데 그 목적을 두고, 이를 위해 첫째, 스페인 춤의 종류, 기본 자세, 의상 및 음악적 특징을 연구하고 캐릭터 댄스로서의 스페인 춤을 살펴보며, 둘째,「돈키호테」에 나타난 캐릭터적 동작들을 스페인 민속춤과 비교해 분석하였다. 작품 전체가 하나의 캐릭터적인 특징을 보이는「돈키호테」는 어떤 하나의 춤 스타일을 토대로 만들어졌다기 보다는 스페인의 전역의 모든 특징과 스타일을 담고 있다. 배경은 깐딸로니아 지방의 바르셀로나지만 라만챠 지방의 세기딜라, 우엘바의 판당고, 안달루시아의 대표적인 춤인 플라멩고와 에스뀨엘라 볼레라 스타일의 춤, 스페인을 대표할 수 있는 투우사, 각가지 민속의상, 소품의 사용 등이 이를 말해주고 있다. 스페인 춤이 캐릭터 댄스로서 발레에 미친 영향을 참고문헌과 비디오 자료를 통해 분석해 본 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기존의 클래식 발레 작품에서보다 뽈드 브라의 사용이 훨씬 다양해졌다. 둘째, 스페인 민속춤이 발레동작에 직접 삽입됨으로 동작의 움직임 범위가 커지고 다양해졌다. 셋째, 스페인 춤만이 지닌 독특한 의상의 착용과 소품의 사용에서 작품 이미지를 엿볼 수 있다. 넷째,‘스페인 발레’라는 하나의 독특한 스타일을 만들어냈다. ; Folk dance has existed in all ethnic groups throughout the world with a variety of motions and characters varying with regions and nations. A folk dance started in a form of impromptu dance by the general public simply for enjoying themselves. However, human desire for beauty let the folk dance be developed in a form of a performance dance, and finally the folk dance became a certain genre of dance so called Character Dance From mid 17 century, a character dance was added to ballet in order to make up for the simplicity of ballet, without the consideration of the story of ballet. In 19 century, it occupied a position of an art dance by being combined with new ballet technique. Today, the character dance holds an important part in ballet and reaches its individual position as an art dance. It is therefore vital to investigate the influence of the folk dance as character dance on ballet for studying ballet of creating ballet motion. For this reason, this study is aiming to examine the influence of the Spanish dance as character dance on ballet through 「Don Quixote」. This study starts with a research of style and feature of the Spanish dance, basic position, feature of the costume and music. It is followed by investigation about Spanish dance as character dance. And ended up with the comparison between the Spanish dance and the characteristic motions shown in 「Don Quixote」. 「Don Quixote」, showing one big characteristic feature as a whole, conceives all characteristic covering the whole Spain rather than being produced on the basic of a certain dance style, Although its background is Barcelona in Catalonia, ti contains a bullfighter(one of symbols representing Spain), all folk costumes, accessories and dance style across Spain, such as Seguidilla from Lamancha area, Fandango from Huelva, Flamenco from Andalucia, and so on. By observing and analyzing the Spanish dance as character dance through reference books and video materials, the influence of the Spanish dance on ballet can be summarized as follows: First, Port de bras is exercised with diversity more in the Spanish dance than in traditionally classical ballet. Second, direct inserting the Spanish folk dance into ballet motion makes the motion in ballet performances larger and diversified. Third, costumes and accessories unique in the Spanish dance help viewers to grasp the image of the performance. Fourth, an unique style called Spain Ballet has been created.
