대학생의 무용 인식도에 관한 연구

Abstract

사회 발달과 변화로 인해 무용의 위상과 인식이 점차 높아지고 있다. 이에 경제 및 교육문화 발전에 따라 예술에 대한 인식이 점차 개선되어졌다는 가정 하에 문화예술에 대해 인식도가 높다고 인정되어지며 미래의 문화 예술부분의 선도적 역할을 담당할 집단이라고 여겨지는 대학생들의 무용에 대한 인식도를 파악하고자 하였다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 무용과를 제외한 일반학과 대학생들을 대상으로 무용개념에 관한 인식도, 무용효과 및 가치에 관한 인식도, 무용참여 의사 및 선호도에 관한 인식도, 무용인에 관한 인식도, 무용관람에 관한 인식도를 알아보았다. 본 연구의 조사대상은 서울시 소재 4년제 대학교의 무용과를 제외한 일반학과에 재학중인 대학생을 모집단으로 하여 유의 표집하였다. 본 연구에서 대학생의 무용인식도를 파악하기 위하여 사용한 도구는 〈대학생의 무용 인식도에 관한 연구〉설문지로서 고은하(1995), 김남수(1991), 백난주(1994), 백정숙(1994), 안은미(1989), 조수정(1993) 등의 연구에서 사용한 설문 문항을 기초로 하여 수정, 보완한 후 사용하였다. 구성된 설문지는 검사 결과 높은 신뢰도를 보였고, 회수된 617부의 설문지 중 응답 내용이 부실하여 신뢰성이 떨어진다고 판단되는 자료와 이중기입, 무기입 자료 등은 분석에서 제외한 573부에 대해 통계 분석 처리하였다. 본 연구에서 사용된 자료 분석방법으로는 SAS(Statistical Analysis System) 프로그램을 이용하여 분석의 목적에 따라 전산 처리하였으며, 자료처리는 각 문항에 대해 빈도분석 및 성별에 따른 무용 인식도의 차이를 알아보기 위하여 Ｔ- test를 실시하였다. 이상의 연구방법과 자료분석을 기초로 하여 대학생의 무용 인식도를 종합 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 대학생의 무용개념에 관한 인식에 있어서는 전반적으로 비교적 높은 인식을 나타냈다. 특히, 무용은 예술영역이므로 체육과는 서로 별개의 것이다라는 응답이 전체의 42.98%에 해당하는 245명으로 높은 비율을 나타냈다. 이와 같이 무용을 예술영역으로 분류하여 생각하는 것으로 나타났으며 반면, 무용에 관한 전문적이거나 일반적인 출판물을 읽어 본 경험이 낮은 것으로 나타난 것으로 보아 전반적이고 폭넓은 대중의 무용 개념에 대한 인식을 높이기 위해서는 무용과 관련된 다양한 주제를 다룬 출판물을 좀 더 쉽게 접할 수 있는 기회를 제공하는 것이 무용이 대중 속에 더욱 쉽게 이해되는 데에 도움이 될 것이라고 생각된다. 둘째, 대학생의 무용의 효과 및 가치에 관한 인식에 있어서는 사회적 문화적 효과와 가치에 대해 긍정적으로 나타났다. 대다수의 응답자들이 무용이 우리 사회, 문화의 발전을 위해서 공헌하며, 건강을 유지, 증진시킨다고 인식하는 것으로 나타났으며 무용이 생활의 스트레스를 해소하고 아름답고 건강한 신체를 만드는데 기여한다고 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대학생의 무용참여 의사 및 선호도에 대한 인식에 있어서는 대체로 조금 높은 것으로 나타났다. 전반적으로 무용 교육의 기회가 적었으며, 다양한 장르에 걸쳐 교육의 기회가 주어지는 것이 좋을 것이라 본다. 넷째, 대학생의 무용인에 관한 인식에 있어서는 전반적으로 무용인에 대한 인식이 높은 반면 남자 무용인에 대하여는 덜 긍정적으로 생각하고 있는 것으로 나타나, 아직도 남자 무용인이 하나의 완전한 직업인으로 인식되지 못하고 있다고 판단 할 수 있다. 다섯째, 대학생의 무용관람에 관한 인식도는 다른 항목에 비하여 상대적으로 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 공연장에서 관람 경험이 있다는 응답자보다 없다는 응답자가 더 많았으며, TV로 무용을 관람한 경험도 낮게 나타나, 무용 공연이 아직도 일반인들의 생활 속의 한 부분으로 자리잡지는 못한 것으로 판단된다. 따라서, 한국 대학생의 무용 인식도는 높으며, 특히 무용의 효과 및 가치가 높다고 판단된다. 그러나, 무용관람에 대한 인식도가 상대적으로 낮으므로 무용과 관련된 다양한 주제를 다룬 출판물을 좀 더 쉽게 접할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고, 무용에 대한 다양한 교육의 기회를 제공하며, 무용을 통해 표현하고자 하는 내용들이 무용 관람을 통하여 쉽게 공감할 수 있는 수준에서 이루어지도록 함으로써 무용이 현재보다 대중에게 더 친숙하게 다가설 수 있는 여건을 마련해야 할 것으로 생각된다. ; Under the condition that the status of dance and people s recognition an it is being elevated with the development and change of society and recognition on art is also being improved followed by the development of economics and educational culture, recognition on culture and art is considered to be heightened, and college students (who are regarded as the group to play a key role in the future culture and art) recognition on dance was tried to grasp. To achieve this goal, this study looks at recognition on the concept of dance, recognition on the effect and value of dance, recognition on the participation in dance and preference to it, recognition on dance people, and recognition on viewing dance with the subject of college students except for dance majors. The subject of this study are college students in general departments except for dance at 4-year-course university in Seoul and they are selected on the random basis. A tool used to grasp college students recognition on dance is questionnaire which was revised and supplemented questions were used. The questionnaire made has high reliability and some of data judged to have low reliability with inadequate answers, double check, and blank material are excluded among 617 copies returned. Total 573 copies were used in this study. As an analysis tool used in this study, SAS(Statistical Analysis System)is computerized according to the purpose, and T-test is also done to examine difference in recognition depending on sex, and for frequency analysis in each question. Based on the analysis of college students recognition on dance by the study method written above, the following conclusions were obtained. First, college students generally have high recognition on dance. Especially, 245students(42.98%) answered that dance is in are field and is different from physical education. As such, they think of dance separately as an art field. However, they do not have much experience in reading published materials on art. More publications can give them opportunities to have an easy access to dance and let dance understood more easily on the public basis. Second, regarding college students recognition on the effect and value of dance, they expressed positive reaction to the social, cultural effect and value, Most of the students who answered think dance contributes to our society s general, cultural development, and it also maintains and improves health. Also, they recognize dance contributes to removing stress and building healthy and beautiful body. Third, college students recognition on participation in dance and preference to it showed overall high rate. There have been little opportunity for dance education. More educational opportunities in various genres were needed. Fourth, most college students have high recognition on dance people while they have less positive recognition on male dancers, which indicates male dancers are not fully recognized as a professional. Fifth, college students recognition on dance have relatively low rate. More students answered they don t have experience in viewing dance in the theatre, and also they have low experience rate in TV view on dance, which suggests that dance performance is not settled in general people s life. Accordingly, it is Judged that Korean college students have high recognition on dance and the effect and value of dance is high. However, since recognition on viewing dance performance is relatively low, the making room for the public, increased opportunities for easy access to publications on dance with various subjects and the sympathized contents of dance through viewing dance performance can make more easily approach to dance.
