어릴적 기억에 의한 투사적 하늘 표현 연구

Abstract

인간의 의식은 기억을 바탕으로 형성된다. 즉 모든 예술가의 작품 또한 그들의 기억을 근본으로 해서 형성되는 것이다. 인간은 다른 동물들과는 구별되는 인간만의 독특한 기억을 저장하고 있으며 그 기억은 인간의 생활과 의식, 그리고 그 표현에 지대한 영향을 미친다고 할 수 있다. 즉 인간의 감정과 정서는 감각을 통한 경험 속에서 형성되는 기억에 의해 비롯된다. 인간은 표현을 수단으로 자신의 내면 세계의 강렬한 충동을 밖으로 표출하며, 인간이 경험한 것들 가운데 선택되는 소재를 그것과 상응하는 예술적 수단을 이용하여 인간 내면의 감정과 정서로 나타낸다. 따라서 인간은 세계와 자신의 관계 속에서 이루어지는 주관적 내면을 표현의 중요한 시각으로 인식하여 인간 내면으로 시각화하게 된다. 스스로 느낀 이미지와 감정을 내면으로부터 유도하여 또 하나의 세계를 새롭게 창조하는 것이다. 그러므로 예술적 표현은 우리 삶의 표현이며 예술가의 노력은 인간의 의미를 하나의 독특한 질서로 창조하려는 열정인 것이다. 인간성의 상실, 인간 소외의 현대 사회를 다룬 예술은 자유와 순수함을 추구하는 인간의 내면 표현인 것이다. 본 연구에서 다루고자 하는 것은 단순히 사물에 대한 기억이 아니라 어릴적 기억에 의한 하늘의 이미지를 소재로 투사에 의해 형성된 하늘의 새로운 이미지로서의 기억을 나타내고자 한다. 여기서 어릴적이란 초등학교 입학전의 상상력이 풍부한 시기에서 초등학교 졸업시까지의 시절을 말한다. 본 논문의 구성은 다음과 같다. Ⅱ장에서는 본 연구의 논제인 ‘어릴적 기억에 의한 투사적 하늘 표현 연구’의 논리적인 이론 배경으로 인지 심리학에서 기억의 개념과 기억의 과정을 살펴보았다. 여기서 곰브리치와 로버트 H. 맥킴의 시지각 이론을 바탕으로 투사의 개념을 이해하고,하늘에 대한 의미를 물리적·현시적(現視的) 지각 대상·이상(理想) 세 가지로 나누어 보았다. Ⅲ장에서는 위의 이론적 배경을 바탕으로 표현의 전개를 밝히기 위해 본 연구자의 기억과 투사의 관계를 알아보았다. 어릴적 기억에 의한 하늘의 이미지를 어떻게 전개하였는지 설명하기 위해 형, 색, 중첩, 왜곡에 대하여 언급하였다. 표현의 도구로는 이미지의 합성과 실험이 편리한 Macintosh Adobe Photoshop 4.0 Program을 주로 이용하였다. Photoshop 4.0 Program의 layer와 filter를 이용하면 기억에 의한 상상을 시각화하는데 효과적이기 때문이다. 이러한 표현 전개 과정을 통하여 다음으로 본인이 어릴적 느꼈던 하늘에 대한 여러 이미지를 표현한 8개의 작품과 본인의 어떠한 기억을 시각화한 것인지 설명을 더했다. 하늘은 우리를 둘러싼 무한 공간으로 어린 시절의 꿈과 기억, 상상과 순수, 이상(理想) 세계에 대한 동경의 대상이 된다. 이와 같은 소재가 갖는 특성을 바탕으로 나의 어릴적 기억 속에 남아있는 내면 의식과 감성을 ‘하늘’이라는 대상에 비추어 내면 세계와 현실 세계의 교감을 통한 독특한 표현 세계를 창조하고자 한다. 또한 하늘을 통해 가질 수 있는 수많은 상상력을 통해 좀 더 폭넓은 사고의 기틀을 마련하고, 무한한 공간에 대한 마음의 여유와 감성적 공감을 함께 나누기를 기대한다. ; Human consciousness is formed on the basis of memory. That is, every artist works is also formed on the basis of their memory. Human beings have their only unique memories distinguished from any other animals, which have great influence on the human life, consciousness and the expression. Human emotion and feeling originate from the memory formed through the experience of sensibility. Human beings manifest the intense impulse of their own interior with the means of expression and show their emotion and feeling of the of the interior by means the artistic way that corresponds with the material chosen in what human beings have experienced. They would present the internal emotion formed by their own experiences through their works. Therefore human beings recognize subjective interior formed in the relation between the universe and oneself, as a point of view of expression, and they express the interior visually. Another world is created by the image and feelings that from oneself that are induced form the interior. Therefore artistic manifestation is the expression of our life and the effort of an artist is to create human significance in a unique order. Art is the freest expression of the human interior that provides genuineness regarding dehumanization and the alienation in the present society. What this study discusses not simply the remembrance about things but the memory as a new image of the sky by a projected point of view with the image of the sky in a childhood memory. Childhood meant here is from the imaginative period before entering elementary school till the end of the elementary school. Therefore this study is structured as follows. In the second chapter, the topic for ‘a study on the projective sky expression of childhood memory’, I observed the concept and process of memory in cognitive psychology based on logical theory. According to E. H Gombrich and Roberts H. McKim s visual-perception theory, I understood the concept of projection. It is classified under three different parts, which are physical existing perceptual subject and notion. In the third section, in order to expression df my work, I observed the relation between my memory and projection. By referring shape, color, overlapping, distortion, I explained how I developed the image of sky on the ground of my childhood memory. This methods used in this works are Macintosh Adobe Photoshop 4.0 Program which can compound images freely. Layer and filter technique in a Macintosh Adobe Photoshop 4.0 Program for expressing the imagination by memory is effective. I added 8works that include many images that I had felt about the sky in my childhood and the explanation of what to express visually. The sky that encloses us in a endless space is the longing object about the unforgettable imagination, genuineness and ideal means. Inner consciousness and emotion what is remaining from my childhood memory to subject the‘sky‘, I am to create peculiar world of expression to share mutual response between inner world and real world. Also, set a wilder base of thoughts through immense imagination of sky and have a composure for unlimited space and share sensitive sympathy.
