단순, 입체형의 반복을 활용한 동화일러스트레이션 표현연구

Abstract

이 연구는 인간의 시지각은 자연이나 대상을 볼 때 그것을 전체적인 형태로 파악하고 시각이미지를 단순화시킴으로 같은 성질의 것을 유목화 하여 지각한다는 사실과 어린이는 단순하고 반복적인 상황이나 형태를 선호한다는 전제로부터 출발한다. 이러한 전제를 증명하기 위해 대상을 인지하는 지각과 인식의 단계를 인지심리학적인 측면에서 알아보고 형태에 대한 시지각 인식의 성향 중에 대상을 단순화하여 유목화 하는 특성에 대해 게슈탈트 이론을 통해 구체적으로 살펴본다. 인간의 인지심리와 시지각 특성인 단순화의 특징은 유아기 아동의 발달단계에서 보다 극명하게 나타나는데 유아의 평면표현의 발달단계에서 보여지는 특징과 아동화를 통해 이러한 사실을 증명해 보고자 한다. 또한 인간이 포함되는 자연은 하나의 단순한 행태가 반복되어 이루는 유기적인 질서 안에서 움직이며 이러한 질서는 시간에 흐름을 타고 리듬을 만들어 낸다. 가장 기본적인 본능에 의해 행동하는 영아들은 단순하고 반복적인 자극에 대해 흥미를 갖고 지속적인 반응을 하며 자장가와 같은 반복적인 리듬에 대해 편안함을 느낀다. 본 연구의 대상이 되는 만 3세~5세의 유아는 보고 지각한 것을 표현하는데 그들이 표현하는 그림을 통해 보여지는 대상에 대한 단순화라는 시지각적 특성과 단순화된 형태들의 반복을 통해 감성적인 만족감을 얻는다는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 이것은 비단 유아기의 어린이에게만 국한된 감성적, 시각적 특징은 아니며 인간은 대상을 단순화하고 분해하여 서로 다른 곳에 저장해 두었다가 새로운 시각적 자극대상이 나타나면기억 속에 유사한 항목을 기억해 내어 관계를 형성하게 되는 인지특성을 갖고 있음을 앞서 이야기한 시각인식과 인지과정을 통해 알아 볼 것이다. 또한 형태의 단순화와 단위형태의 반복은 이미지를 통일감 있는 전체로 만들고 명료하고 리드믹한 감성적인 측면 때문에 기존의 미술작품이나 조형 활동에서 널리 쓰여 왔음을 기존의 작가들과 한국전통문양과 원시미술을 통해 살펴본다. 이에 본 연구자는 아직 글을 모르는 단계에 있는 만 3~5세의 유아들의 상상력에 도움을 줄 수 있는 동화일러스트레이션을 제작함에 있어서 시지각적 특성 중 단순성의 원리를 활용하여 화면을 구성하였다. 선정된 동화에 등장하는 대상동물들의 외형적, 내형적 특성을 가장 단순한 형태인 기하학적인 형태로 단순화하고, 3차원의 입체적인 형태로 반복, 누적적으로 표현함으로써 대상물의 형태를 보다 생동감 있는 모습으로 재현하고자 하였다. 재료선택에 있어서 기하학적인 형태가 줄 수 있는 딱딱함과 경직됨을 보완하기 위해 자연스러운 텍스쳐를 가진 나무를 선택하였고, 미분화된 아동의 시각에 적합한 원색적인 화려한 색채를 사용하였다. ; This study starts from the premise that human visuality and audibility is perceived by categorizing the same qualities, simplifying visual image into the whole form, and children prefer simple, repeated situation or form. Nature which human beings are included in moves in an organic order repeating simple form, and this order make a rhythm in the flow of time. Infants who act by the very basic instinct have interest in simple and repeated stimulation and respond continuously to it, and feel comfortable with a repeating rhythm such as a lullaby. Infants aged from 3-5, who are the subject of this study, gained emotional satisfaction by simplifying the object seen through the pictures they express and repeating simplified forms. This emotional, visual characteristic is not limited only to infants, and it can be expanded to the fact that human beings simplify and disassemble an object, save it to different space, and make relation with a similar item when a new visual stimulation appears. Also, form simplification and unit, repetition has been widely used in the existing art work or other modeling activities because of its unified image, clear and rhythmic emotion. Hereby, I used the principle of simplicity in producing picture book illustration which can be helpful to the imagination of infants(aged 3-5) I attempted to make rhythmic composition by simplifying an object into geometric form, the simplest form, and repeating geometric forms. To supplement the static aspect of geometric forms, I chose wood with natural texture, and used colorful expression suitable for children s visual.
