커튼에 관한 직물 표현 연구 : 거실공간 용도로

Abstract

현대 건축은 창의 수와 차지하는 면적이 증대되어 자연히 창위에 드리워지는 커튼의 수요를 가속화 하였고 커튼의 소재 개발, 형태, 디자인 등을 세분화, 발전시키는 결과를 가져왔다. 따라서 오늘날 커튼 없는 공간은 생각할 수도 없을 만큼 우리의 주생활 공간에서 중요한 자리를 차지하고 있음은 확실하다. 이러한 커튼은 실내 공간에서 소재 선택에 따라 부드럽기도 하고 따뜻하거나 시원한 감정을 불러일으키고 기법에 따라 다양한 미적효과를 창출한다. 또한 다른 실내 장식재와 달리 가변적인 요소로서 커튼 직물의 문양과 색감에서 오는 아름다운 효과뿐만 아니라 개폐유무, 주름방식, 달기스타일 등에 따라 실내를 한층 입체감 있게 형성한다. 그렇게 때문에 어떤 커튼이 쳐져 있는가 하는 것은 그 공간의 전체적인 인상을 지배한다고 해도 과언이 아니다. 사실 커튼의 발전은 우리나라에서 그리 오랜 역사를 지닌 것은 아니다. 때문에 과거에 커튼은 다른 실내 장식재와 더불어 소홀히 간과되어짐이 사실이다. 이는 즉 커튼을 토탈 개념으로써 상호 인식으로 고려되어 지기보다는 각각 독립된 한 요서로써 소비자의 독자적인 개성 연출의 연구에 큰 기대를 주지 못한 획일적인 디자인, 스타일(style) 등의 커튼문화였음을 알 수 있다. 국내 커튼시장의 경우 아직도 선진국의 라이센스 브랜드(Licence brand) 도입과 몰개성적인 디자인 모방이나 복제가 행해지고 독자적인 커튼 디자인 트랜드(trend)로서 전문 업체가 부족한 상황이다. 이제는 이러한 양상에서 어느 정도 벗어나 21세기를 준비하는 현시대에 대응하는 한 품격 높은 커튼문화가 되어야 한다는 생각이 든다. 노력과 시간을 과감히 투자하고 우리만의 스타일, 작업체, 각 브랜드(Brand)로서 자체적이고 개성 있는 패턴 개발에 주력을 가해야겠다. 이에 실내 공간에 질적인 향상과 다변화를 가져오고 개인의 기호에 맞는 개성적인 이미지를 연출하여 보다 아름답고 풍요로운 삶을 영위하는데 부합하는 커튼디자인의 개선 방향으로 본 연구자는 다양한 직물표현을 연구하는데 목적을 두었다. 본 논문에서는 거실의 개념과 커튼의 일반적 고찰ㄱ을 통해 거실 공간용도에 다양한 스타일로 적용이 되도록 직물을 제시하였으며 커튼종류로서 장식적 목적으로 현재 일반 가정에서 많이 활용되고 있는 케이스먼트 커튼(casement curtain)을 정하여 작품제작에 임하였다. 작품제작에서는 소재와 조직에 따른 직물표현 형성과 효과를 살려 창의적이고 개성적인 직물제작을 시도하였으며 소재로서는 면사, 낚싯줄, 린넨사, 광택사를 주로 사용하여 전반적으로 크리스피(crispy)하고 드라이(dry)한 느낌으로 현대적 거실 감각에 대응하도록 하였다. 본 연구를 토대로 다양한 커튼 디자인 개발에 도움이 되기를 바라며 고품질, 고품격 및 고부가가치로서의 직물 디자인에 일익을 담당하였으면 한다. ; With the increase of the windows and the expansion of the area they occupy, modern architecture has more demand of culture drawn over windows, and the itemization and development of curtain materials, shape and design have also followed. Accordingly, today space without curtains is unthinkable and they have an important position in our living space. These curtains arouse feelings of softness, warmth or coolness according to the kind of materials, and skills also create various aesthetic effects. Also, unlike other interior decoration materials, curtains form more cubic space according to beautiful effect caused by the pattern and color of curtain material opening or closing, drape method, and drawing style, Therefore, it can be said that curtains determine the general atmosphere of space. In fact, Korea dose not have a long story of curtains. So it is true that curtains were overlooked with other interior materials in the past. This is because curtains were considered to be an individual element which did not meet customers demand with uniformed design and rather than a total concept and mutual recognition. In case of domestic curtain market, importing a developed country s licence brand and imitating designs or copying are still done, and unique curtain design companies are needed. Now, We should have quality curtain culture corresponding to the upcoming21^st century escaping this situation. By making great investment to curtains with time and efforts. We should devote ourselves to developing our own patterns with our brand style and company. Hereby, this study has a purpose to examine various textile for curtain design improvement, considering that it can correspond to beautiful and rich life and make individual image fit for each person s taste with the quality improvement and diversity of interior space. This paper suggests material so that it can be applied to living room with various styles through the general study of living room concept and curtains, and selected a casement curtain which are a lot used in general homes for decorative use. In producing a work, I tried to make creative and individualistic textile with textile surface forming and effect according to material and structure. I used cotton yarn, fishing string, Linen and glossy yarn to correspond to modern living room sense with overall crispy dry feelings. Hopefully, this study will help develop various curtain designs, and play a part in textile design as high quality, high class and high value added.
