쇼파용 직물에 관한 연구 : 체크패턴 중심으로

Abstract

삭막해지기 쉬운 현대 사회에서 집은 편안함과 안식의 넉넉함을 지닌 생명의 요람이 되어야 하고 분위기 있고 개성을 살린 자신만의 쾌적한 공간이어야 한다. 그러나 일반 주택보다 획일적인 구조를 갖는 아파트 등의 공동 주택이 점차 늘어남에 따라 주거공간은 기본적인 삶과 안식을 영위하는 의미에서 더 나아가 공간의 효율과 시각적인 미를 가족의 라이프 스타일(Life style)에 맞추어 충족시켜 줄 수 있는 의미 있는 공간으로 변화되고 있다. 사람들의 성격을 개성이라고 표현하듯이 실내에도 개성을 부여함으로서 생동감을 불어넣고 자신만의 선호와 취향을 개발하고, 표현하고 그것을 감상함으로서 생활의 질을 놓이는데 크게 기여할 수 있는 것이다. 이러한 실내 공간의 개성을 표현할 수 있는 매체중의 하나가 바로 가구이다. 가구는 인간 생활과 밀접한 도구로서 우선 그 기능의 만족됨이 최우선이겠지만 그것만으로 사용자에게 정서적인 쾌감과 만족감을 주기엔 완전치 못하다. 오늘날의 현대인들은 깨어 있는 대부분의 시간을 작업, 휴식, 학습, 식사, 대화 등을 하며 의자에 앉아서 보낸다. 이렇게 앉아서 생활하는 시간이 많아짐에 따라 의자는 단순히 ‘앉거나 인체를 받치기 위한 도구’의 단일 목적으로부터 육체적인 긴장과 피로를 풀어 줌으로서 심리적 안정과 만족까지 얻게 해주는 다목적 복합기능을 가진 가구로 거듭나고 있는 것이다. 특히 의자는 인체와 직접 접촉되는, 사람에게 가까운 가구 중의 하나로 직물로 마감된 의자나 소파의 경우, 접촉면이 갖는 피부 촉감이나 마찰에서 오는 마모 등을 고려한 직물의 선택이 매우 중요하다. 가구나 그 밖의 실내 공간에 있어 직물의 사용은 장식하고자 하는 우리의 욕구를 해결해 줄 수 있으며 색과 무늬, 시각적 촉각, 촉각적 질감에서 오는 독특한 흥미도 준다. 또한 실내 공간에서 비용도 크게 들지 않으면서 비교적 쉽게 이용할 수 있기 때문에 직물은 최소한의 비용으로 똑같은 환경에서 변화를 줄 수 있는 이점도 있다. 이에 본 연구는 소파용 어퍼스터리 직물의 종류와 특성, 가공법에 대해 이론적으로 연구하고 그 내용을 토대로 누구에게나 친근하게 다가 설 수 있는 편안하고 고급스런 느낌의 소파 직물을 체크 패턴을 응용하여 제작하였다. 체크는 긴 역사동안 급진적인 변화는 없었지만 선의 변화, 색채 감각 및 세밀한 구성에 의해 예민하게 그리고 소극적으로 변화되고 활용되어 왔다. 본 연구자는 체크 패턴에 직물의 느낌을 변화시킬 수 있는 여러 가지 요인들 예를 들면 선의 간격, 색채, 소재, 조직, 변화의 요인들을 효과적으로 적용시켜 흥미로운 체크 패턴을 연구하였다. 그리고 복잡하고 장식적인 여러 조직보다는 단순하고 평범하지만 체크 패턴에 보다 효과적인 평직과 능직, 변화 능직을 위주로 같은 조직 내에서 다른 느낌으로 연출될 수 있는 다양한 느낌의 직물을 연구하였다. 본 연구를 통해 소파 직물을 포함한 어퍼스터리 직물에 대한 올바른 이해와 지식을 향상된 직물 디자인으로 연결지음으로서 보다 고급화되고 독창적인 직물 디자인 개발에 한 걸음 다가서고자 한다. ; In modern society liable to dryness, the house should be a cradle of life full of comfort and ease, and a pleasant space with individualized atmosphere. However, as apartment houses with standardized structures increase, dwelling space is changing from space for meeting basic life demands or rest to a meaningful space for satisfying family s expectancy of space efficiency or visual aesthetics in accordance with their life style. We call a person s character personality, likewise, granting personality to the interior is bringing forty liveliness, developing the resident s own preference or taste, and contributing a great deal to heighten the quality of his life by making him enjoy expressing and appreciating. One of such media to grant personality to the interior is the furniture. Since the furniture is deeply connected with human life and whether its functions are satisfactory or not is most important thing, but it is not yet enough for the user to have emotional satisfaction or pleasant feelings. Modern men of today spend most of their waking hours working, resting, learning, eating, talking, that is, doing these things sitting on a chair. Increase of this sitting hours has changed the chair from having one single one single purpose of accepting or supporting the human body to the furniture with multipurpose complex functions that can give even psychological stability and satisfaction. In parting, in the case of chair or sofa with which human body has a direct contact and one closest furniture to man finished with fabric, it is very important to choose fabrics in consideration of the contact surface our skin touches and abrasion from rubbing. Use of fabric in the furniture or interior can resolve our desire to decorate and arouse our interest through color, pattern, and visual and textures. Also it does not cost much money and is comparatively easily used, it has an advantage for changing the environment with expense. Therefore, the author of this study has investigated kinds and characteristics of upholstery fabrics for sofa, and based on this investigation, has made sofa fabrics of comfortable and high-class feel which everyone can easily be familiar with by applying the check pattern. The check hasn t changed a lot for a long time but undergone delicate, passive changes and application through changes of line, color sense or elaborate composition. The author, by effectively applying various factors that can change the feel of the fabric such as distance between lines, color, material and textural change to check patterning to varied twill weaves effective for simple and ordinary check patterns rather than for complicated and decorative textures have been employed to make various textiles of different feels within the same texture. The author hopes that through this study correct understanding and knowledge of upholstery fabrics including sofa fabric could be connected with more improved fabric designing to come a step closer to more sophisticated and original developments of fabric design.
