점묘기법을 응용한 직물연구 : 신인상주의를 중심으로

Abstract

인류의 역사가 시작된 이래 직물은 끊임 없는 변화와 발전을 거듭해 왔으며 현대에 와서는 단순히 기능적 측면을 초월하여 다원화되는 사회에 발맞추어 용도와 디자인도 다양화 되고 있다. 소비자의 생활 수준이 향상됨에 따라 소비패턴은 고급화, 개성화, 다양화되고 있으며 이러한 소비자 욕구에 부응하기 위하여 직물 산업계에서는 소재와 디자인 및 생산기술의 연구개발로 직물의 고급화와 다양화에 관심을 두고 있다. 이에 본 연구자는 창의적 산업직물 디자인 개발을 위해 인상주의와 신인상주의자들이 순간적으로 느낀 인상을 포착하려 했던 그들의 새로운 회화기법을 직물디자인에 적용하였다. 인상주의와 신인상주의는 편견이나 선입견이 완전히 배제된 상태에서의 시각을 중요하게 생각했다. 그것은 유럽예술의 새로운 시각혁명이었고, 빛과 색채의 새로운 발굴이라는 의미에서 회화사적 의의가 지대하다. 그들은 자연 속에서 끊임없이 변화하는 사물의 표면에 비친 광선 효과의 본질을 추구했고, 태양의 스펙트럼에 가까운 순색들로 구성된 파레트로 색채 혼합을 하지 않고 직접 캔버스에 칠하므로써 그 시대의 과학적 색채이론에 입각한 색채표현을 하였다. 또한 아주 세심한 터치로 점을 병치시킴으로써 색채의 순도를 보존했으며, 색채의 효과를 최대한 살렸다. 그러므로 얼마간의 거리를 두고 볼 때, 그 색들은 우리의 망막에서 시각적으로 혼합이 되어 광선의 가법혼합에서 볼 수 있는 밝은 광휘의 효과를 거두는 시각적 혼합(Viusual Mixture)의 방법을 사용하였다. 본 연구는 인상주의의 발생배경과 특징을 살피고, 인상주의자들이 우연하게 발견한 것을 체계화했던 신인상주의의 분할묘법을 인상주의자들의 이론과 비교 조명하였다. 본 연구에서는 색채사용에 있어서 인상주의와 신인상주의자들이 즐겨 사용하였던 태양의 스펙트럼 색채에 가까운 순색들을 사용하여 색상대비, 명암대비, 보색대비, 동시대비등의 색채 기본원리에 맞추어 연구하였다. 기법으로는 신인상주의의 특징적 표현 방법인 점묘기법을 효과적으로 표현하기 위해 사각형의 작은 점을 이루고 있는 블럭 디자인(Block Design)을 중심으로 연구하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 현대인들의 다양한 구매욕구에 부응할 수 있는 창의적인 산업직물 개발에 도움이 되고자한다. ; Textile goods have made continuous development since human history began and it is diversifying its use and design keeping pace with pluralistic society beyond simple technological aspects in modern times. As consumers′life level is elevated, consuming pattern is being quality -oriented, individualistic and diversified, and textile industry has interest in high quality, diversity of textile goods to respond to consumers′desire, with the development of material, design and manufacturing skill. Hereby I apply new painting skills that impressionists and neo-impressionists tried to capture what they momentarily felt to textile design for the development of creative industrial clothing design. Impressionists and neo-impressionists thought highly of vision without prejudice or preoccupation. That was new visual revolution in European art, and it is very meaningful for painting history in that it newly developed light and color. They pursued the essence of the laser effect reflected on the surface of changing objects in nature, and color-expressed based on the scientific color theory of that time by painting directly on canvas without mixing colors on a pallette. Also, preserving the purity of colors by paralleling dots with very delicate touches, he made the best color effect. Therefore, those colors make a bright light effect when seen in a little distance, and it is so-called visual mixture. This study compares division method of neo-impressionism with the theory of impressionists by examining the background and characteristics of impressionism and systemizing what impressionists found. Using the pure colors close to the sun spectrum which impressionists and neo-impressionists used, this study examines the basic principle of colors such as the contradiction of colors, bright and dark comparisons, complementary colors, simultaneous comparisons and etc.. As for technique, Block Design, which is made up of small square dots, is examined to effectively study pointillism-characteristic expression in neo-impressionism. Accordingly, this study is intended to give help to develop creative industrial textile and various need of consumers.
