내츄럴 이미지를 중심으로 한 텍스타일 디자인 연구

Abstract

The origins of inspiration for art, derives from nature. Human begins are moved by its wonders. It is this, which gives life to art. Though the ideas obtained from nature, the artist expresses emotions and experiences in many different ways, applying a variety of techniques. Sometimes nature is perceived objectively and some at other tines, it is seem subjective eyes. Hence, its interpretation, relies on the eye oh the perceive. In each period of time, Yet, even today, the use of nature as a theme for designing textile, requires to be further examined and researched for new expressions and interpretations, Only then, can new creations and methods develop. Written informations, preliminary plans for the making of my work and analysis have been the basis to my research for this thesis. Theorics on naturalism, from the 19th Century until today, have been researched together with different studise on nature and its application in textiles. In addition to this, I looked at modem trends in the textile market, making analysis by looking at fashion trends published in curtent magazines, books and other sources of information. For natural expressions in textile design, I have used cotton wool and thread, these materials were used to create different effects in textile design. The work was then re-interpretated through the photocopying machine and the computer. The design was simplified and with the use of the screen-printing technique, I was able to express by subjective views on nature. The natural materials - cotton wool and thread - were used to create the primary forms in textile. This was then applied into the computer and the photocopying machine, creating new possibilities in design. Through this process, I was able to discover new boundaries in textile design. I hope that it will open new doors for my future works in this particular field of study. ; 모든 예술의 근원인 자연이 인간에게 주는 감동은 귀한 예술적 생명의 모체로 작가의 자율성에 의해 다양한 방법으로 표현되고 있다. 또한 자연에 대한 예술가의 태도는 자연의 실체를 객관적으로 수용하여 재현하느냐, 주관적으로 하여 변형하느냐에 따라 차이가 있지만 계속적인 표현의 대상이 되어왔다. 텍스타일 디자인에 있어 자연에 대한 이해와 표현의 범위는 디자이너 자신과 시대적 변화의 인식에 의해서 다양하게 표현되어 왔으나 자연이미지를 소재로 한 발상과 표현에 있어서의 가능성의 범위는 아직 연구가 많이 필요한 부분이다. 따라서 자연 이미지를 소재로 한 새로운 시각의 인식과 표현이 요구된다. 본 연구의 내용은 자연주의와 자연이 주는 내츄럴 이미지의 텍스타일 디자인에 적용이다. 예술에 있어서 자연주의를 어떻게 해석했으며, 텍스타일 디자인에 있어서 자연은 어떤 방식으로 표현되었는지를 알아보고 섬유예술에 나타난 내츄럴 이미지를 연구하였다. 또한 디자인의 기획과 경향을 조사하고 내츄럴 이미지의 작품 10 점을 제작하고 분석하였다. 본 연구의 방법은 문헌, 작품제작, 분석을 기본으로 한다. 문헌은 19세기에서 근대에 걸쳐 예술에 대한 자연주의문헌을 참고 하였고, 내츄럴 이미지를 독자적으로 해석한 섬유 조형 작가들의 예를 들었으며, 근래 다양하게 변하는 국내외 시장의 동향이나 패션 계획자들에 의해 만들어진 잡지, 전문서적, 정보수집을 통하여 패션경향을 분석하고 자연 이미지의 디자인을 제작하는데 있어서는 솜과 실을 소재로 섬유조형과정을 거친 후 2차적으로 복사기와 컴퓨터를 이용하여 단순하게 변형하였고, 프린트는 스크린 프린트방식을 이용하여 주관적인 표현을 하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 섬유조형에 의한 텍스타일 디자인 제작에 있어서 솜과 실에서 주는 내츄럴 이미지 자체는 표현의 발상에서 이미지화 작업의 모체로 작용하였다. 섬유조형에서 나오는 조형을 스케치하고 복사기와 컴퓨터를 통해 2차적으로 표현하였을 때 다양한 형태를 창출하였고 모티브로의 적용이 순조로웠다. 본 연구에서는 섬유조형을 통해 내츄럴 이미지를 텍스타일 디자인에 접목하여 텍스타일 디자인의 가능성과 새로운 표현방법을 제시하는데 의의가 있다.
