웨딩드레스 디자인 연구 : 에로티시즘 웨딩드레스를 중심으로

Abstract

아름다움을 추구하고자 하는 욕구는 인간의 의지로는 바꿀 수 없다. 에로틱한 복식은 인간의 내면적인 의식적 욕구와 무의식적 욕구의 발로로, 성 본능과 미를 추구하고자 한 욕망이 그대로 재현된 것이라 할 수 있다. 인간은 에로티시즘을 유발시키기 위해 의식적으로 복식을 착용한다. 에로티시즘을 느끼는 민감성의 정도는 개인의 미적 능력과 관심, 성에 대한 시각에 따라 차이가 있다. 복식에 나타난 에로티시즘은 색정적인 꾸밈새나 저질의 옷차림과는 달리, 개인의 사상이 외적으로 표현된 것이라 할 수 있다. 웨딩드레스의 경우는 복식의 한 분야임에도 불구하고 의례적인 착용 목적의 상징성으로 인해 서구적인 전통성이 그대로 답습되면서 디자인 개발의 단절을 초래하게 되었다. 그러나, 1990년대 이후 신부들의 개성을 중시하는 의식구조의 변화와 웨딩드레스의 패션화 경향이 나타나면서 웨딩드레스에도 에로티시즘이 표현되었다. 본 논문은 에로티시즘 표현 양식을 웨딩드레스 디자인에 도입하여 에로티시즘 웨딩드레스에 나타난 디자인 경향을 연구하고, 에로티시즘이 단순한 성의 상품화, 성 본능을 자극하는 한 부분으로서의 의미뿐만이 아니라, 기존 웨딩드레스의 개념을 초월하여 또 다른 예술적인 여성미를 추구한 디자인을 기획, 제작하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구 방법은 패션 관련 문헌과 국내외 패션 정보지, 인터넷 포탈 사이트 등의 온·오프 라인 정보자료를 가지고 패션의 에로티시즘과 서구 웨딩드레스의 역사에 나타난 상징성을 살펴보았다. 이러한 배경을 토대로 웨딩드레스 디자인을 연구함에 있어 에로티시즘 웨딩드레스를 중심으로 디자인 경향에 대해 살펴보았다. 패션에서의 에로티시즘은 인간이 의복을 통해 서로의 이성을 매혹시키고 관심을 끌기 위해 오래 전의 장식적 의복에서 현대 패션 디자인에 이르기까지 에로티시즘의 원리가 적용되어 왔다. 인간에게는 무의식적으로 성에 대한 욕구가 잠재되어 있으며, 이것이 자신을 좀 더 아름답고 매력적으로 보이고 싶어하는 욕망과 보는 이로 하여금 성적 본능을 유발시키려는 양면성을 갖고 있으며 이러한 양식이 표현된 패션의 에로티시즘은 오늘날 복식미의 개념에서 중요한 위치를 차지하면서 두드러진 표현 양식이 되고 있다. 서구 웨딩드레스의 역사에 나타난 상징성을 요약하면, 19세기 초반 빅토리아 여왕의 결혼 예복을 계기로 하여 흰색의 웨딩드레스가 순결함과 정숙성을 상징했을 뿐 아니라, 신부의 가문이나 사회적 지위에 따라 그들의 권세를 과시하기 위해 화려한 색상의 직물과 보석의 장식, 가문을 상징하는 색상과 문장 등 호화롭고 사치스러운 스타일이 나타났다. 또한 1840년 빅토리아 여왕의 결혼식 이전까지는 특별히 결혼식 의상으로 정해진 드레스가 없었으나, 평상복과 비슷한 형태의 의상에 자수를 놓거나 장신구, corsage, veil 등을 사용하여 축일(祝日)을 상징하였다. 현대에 와서는 결혼관의 변화, 페미니즘의 영향과 성에 대한 개방적인 태도 등으로 인해 에로티시즘이 강조된 웨딩드레스가 표현되었다. 에로티시즘 웨딩드레스에 나타난 디자인 경향은 노출과 과장, 선정적인 장식을 통해 나타났다. 노출에 의한 에로티시즘 웨딩드레스는 가장 적극적이고 직접적인 성적 쾌락성을 표현한 것으로, 가슴, 허리, 등, 다리의 직접적인 노출과 밀착, 절개, 소재에 의한 투시 등의 간접적인 노출 방법을 통해 관능적 에로티시즘을 표현하였다. 과장에 의한 에로티시즘 웨딩드레스는 여성 신체의 특정 부분을 과장시켜 에로틱한 신체의 곡선미를 나타내는 것으로 과장된 실루엣을 통해 여성의 창조적, 생산적 아름다움에 대한 이상이 관능적인 미로 표출되었다. 선정적인 장식에 의한 에로티시즘 웨딩드레스는 여성의 신체 부위 중 가장 은밀하고 에로틱한 부분인 가슴, 힙, 성기 부분에 선정적인 모티브를 사용하여 시선을 끌게 하여 성적 매력을 은유적 방법을 통해 강조함으로써 관능적인 에로티시즘을 나타내었다. 이상의 연구를 토대로 본 논문에서는 형식에 얽매이지 않고 파격을 시도하는 결혼을 앞둔 20대 중반~30대 초반의 career woman을 target으로 보수적인 계급 사회에 대한 반항과 도발적인 에로티시즘의 이미지를 표현한 funky sensuality 를 theme로 하여 2003 S/S를 위한 에로티시즘 웨딩드레스 디자인을 기획, 제작하였다. Denim과 poly organza, lace, tulle 소재를 이용하였고, 색상은 cool gray, blue, black의 색상을 main과 sub color로 적절히 사용하였으며, Item은 halter neckline의 one-piece dress와 corset & micro pants skirt style의 wedding dress로 중성적인 분위기의 섹시한 이미지를 강조하였다. 여성의 신체 중 에로틱한 포인트가 되는 가슴을 소재의 입체적인 표현과 형태의 돌출, stud 장식 등 페티시즘(fetishism)적인 에로틱한 표현을 강조할 수 있었고, 인간 내면에 잠재되어 있는 성을 부각시키기 위한 적극적인 방법의 일환으로 노출을 시도하여 투시를 통한 신체 부위의 간접 노출과 부분적인 직접 노출에 의해 선정적인 에로티시즘을 표현하였다. ; Desire which wish to seek beauty can not change to human s will. However, as shows change of consciousness structure that taking a serious view brides character and fashion tendency of wedding dress eroticism expressed to wedding dress. The purpose of this treatise is to study the design tendency shown in eroticism wedding dress adopting eroticism expression style in wedding dress design, and to plan and produce designs that seek another artistic womanly beauty transcending concept of existing wedding dress, not just as a part of something that stimulates sex s commercialization, sex instinct, design. The method used for this study was to review the eroticism shown in fashion based on the on·off information data from fashion-related documents and domestic and foreign fashion magazines, internet portal sites and others, and to examine the design tendency focusing on eroticism wedding dress throughout the history of wedding dresses in the Western. Eroticism in fashion makes human for fascinate and attract interest each other s opposite sex through clothes had been applied principle of eroticism until modern fashion design in decorative clothes long ago. The human being has the desire for sex, and this own with desire which want to be little more beautiful and look attractively have double aspects to provoke sex instinct by a person and this form is becoming notable expression style as eroticism of expressed fashion occupies important position in concept of dress today. If we summarize the symbolism that appeared in the history of Western wedding dress, Queen Victoria s marriage ceremonial dress in the early 19th century was a white wedding dress that symbolized chastity and immaculateness, luxurious and luxurious style such as color and sentence that textile fabrics of splendid color and ornament of jewel that symbolize the pedigree to demonstrate their power according to bride s pedigree. And the target was career women who are in their mid 20s and early 30s and have a job, and are soon to get married and try to break the rule without being bound in form and have unique fashion sense. A material used denim and poly organza, lace, tulle and color uses cool gray, prussian blue, black s color properly by main and sub color, make out image map, illustration, job order and produced actuality work.
