효율적인 데이터 관리를 위한 인터넷 데이터 센터의 활용방안

Abstract

국내 인터넷 산업과 네트워크 시장의 고속화로 인하여 기업들은 인터넷 트래픽의 기하급수적 증가로 대용량 대역폭 및 고속화의 필요성이 대두하게 되었다. 그러나 각 기업이 네트워크 시장의 발전 속도에 맞추어 모든 기반 시설을 업그레이드하기에는 장비와 인력과 같은 자원 부족과 초기투자에 대한 부담이 큰 애로사항이 되고 있어, 전산시스템과 운영·유지에 대한 아웃소싱의 필요성이 제기되었고, 이러한 필요성에 의해서 인터넷 데이터 센터가 출현하였다. 인터넷 데이터 센터는 인터넷 기반으로 e-비지니스를 위해서 필요한 서버 환경구축과 데이터 관리, 회선사용에 관한 최적의 솔루션을 제공한다. 기업이 초기에 전산시스템을 자체운영하기 위해서 필요한 모든 작업, 즉 네트워크 구성뿐만 아니라 관리까지 지원함으로써 보다 효율적인 네트워크 관리를 가능케 한다. 그러나 지금까지는 인터넷 데이터 센터가 네트워크 인프라만 제공하는 것으로 인식되어 활용 가치를 제대로 발휘하지 못하고 있고, 얼마만큼 실생활에 영향을 미치는 지에 대한 연구가 부족한 상황이다. 현재 인터넷 데이터 센터는 업체의 성격에 따라 코로케이션, 서버 호스팅, 웹 호스팅, 보안, 백업 등의 서비스를 제공하며, 초창기의 시설, 입지, 서버설치 공간을 임대해 주던 사업에서 탈피해서 네트워크 서버, 저장 장치 등에 종합적인 관리 및 컨설팅 업무를 제공하려는 추세를 보이고 있다. 본 논문에서는 급속히 늘어나는 기업의 인터넷 트래픽을 효율적으로 처리하기 위해서 학교나 기업 분야의 네트워크에서 트래픽이 발생하는 부분을 검토한 후 이를 해결하는 방안으로 자체 시스템 운영과 IDC 로의 아웃소싱 경우로 나누어 경비절감, 효율적인 트래픽 관리, 네트워크 업그레이드 측면에서 비교 분석하였다. 그리고 이를 토대로 효율적인 데이터 관리를 위해 인터넷 데이터 센터의 서비스를 활용하여 네트워크 시스템을 구축하는 방안을 제시하였다. ; As the internet business and network market grow rapidly, companies have been strongly required the needs of large capacity and wide bandwidth. But it is hard for every company to match the network market s speed of growth to all the established facilities because of the lack of resources, such as equipment and human labor, and the huge of initial investment. The need of out-sourcing computer system s management and maintenance brought the internet data centers to appear. These centers, based on the internet, provide e-business with essential construction environment for servers, data management, and the optimum solution for the use of circuits. At the beginning, all the tasks required, such as the network construction and management were supported to manage the computer systems which made the network administration efficient possible. The centers are not able to display the value of utility because until now, people have been understanding that the internet data centers have been only providing network infrastructures. Also, there has been insufficient research of how much it affects the real life. Currently, the internet data centers offer services like co-location, server hosting, web hosting, security, and backup and etc. by the industrial characteristics. Escaping from business of lending facilities of the earliest days, such as location, and the space for the installation of servers, it tends to provide overall administrations of network servers, storage devices and etc. and consulting services. This paper shows that in order to manage the fast growing internet traffics efficiently, the traffic outbreaking from the university or industry field networks was examined. Dividing the management of system itself and the outsourcing as an IDC. As the result of this research with comparative analysis based on cost saving, efficient traffic management, and up-grading network, this finding suggests how to construct the network system for an efficient data management by using service of internet data center.
