Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka의 연가곡 'ПРОЩАНИЕ С ПЕТЕРБУРГОМ' 에 관한 연구 분석

Abstract

미하일 이바노비치 글린까(Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka, 1804-1857)는 19세기 러시아에서 유럽의 기법과 러시아 민족음악을 결합시킨, 러시아 민족주의의 선구자 역할을 한 작곡가이다. 또한 글린까로부터 러시아 가곡의 역사가 시작되었다. 글린까가 세운 러시아 음악의 전통은 발라키레프(M. Balakiev, 1837-1910), 보로딘(A. Borodin, 1833-1887), 쿠이 (C. Cui, 1835-1918), 무소르그스키(NM. Mussorgsky, 1839-1881), 림스키 코르사코프(N. Rimsky-Korsakov, 1844-1908)의 5명으로 구성된 러시아 5인조로 이어진다. 글린까가 남긴 가장 귀중한 유산은 그의 민요스타일이 아니라, 음악 언어의 근원적인 개념을 러시아적인 음악적 상상력과 결합하여 음악적 수준을 한 단계 높인 것이다. 글린까의 가곡에 있어서 러시아 민족주의 선율양식은 고전주의 양식에 영향을 받았다. 글린까는 가곡에서 언어를 화성학과 결합하여 러시아어가 사실적이고 억양이 있는 풍부한 느낌이 들게 만들었다. 글린까의 많은 가곡들은 단지 그것들이 훌륭한 예술작품으로서 뿐만 아니라 뛰어난 서정성의 독창적 계류로 더 주목을 받는다. 본 논문의 연구대상인「뻬쩨르부르크와의 이별」(Прошание с Петерo ургом)은 12곡으로 이루어진 글린까의 유일한 연가곡이다. 이 작품에서도 글린까의 다른 작품에서와 마찬가지로 유럽 음악의 기법과 러시아 전통 민속 선율을 절충한 새롭고 개성적인 표현을 찾을 수 있다. 필자가 글린까의「뻬쩨르부르크와의 이별」을 논문의 주제로 삼은 이유는 글린까가 음악사적으로 훌륭할 뿐만 아니라, 가곡에 있어서도 아름다운 선율을 가지고 있으나, 우리나라에서는「종달새」를 제외하고는 그 악보조차 구하기 힘들만큼 잘 알려져 있지 않아서, 글린까의 유일한 연가곡을 소개하기 위함이다. ; Mikhail Ivonovich Glinka (1804-1857) was a leading composer of Russia, who played a pioneering role in Russian nationalistic music, combining Russian traditional music with European technique in his own way. The history of Russian art songs was also started by him. Glinka found and developed traditional Russian music which was then succeeded by the Five Russian Musicians, M. Balakiev (1837-1910), A. Borodin (1833-1887), C. Cui (1835-1918), NM. Mussorgsky (1839-1881), N. Rimsky-Korsakov (1844-1908). The most valued characteristics of his music is not that he used a folk song style, but that he sublimated the Russian music by harmonizing the essential concepts of musical words and the imaginative power of Russian music. In Glinka s art songs, the melodic style of Russian nationalistic music was influenced by the Classicalism. Glinka s combination of the Russian language and rich harmony enriched the language to express its reality and the beauty of its intonation. Many of his art songs draw our attention, not merely as some musical masterpieces, but as an absolute branch of songs with outstanding lyricism. The subject of this paper, A Farewell to St. Petersburg , is the only song cycle (12 songs in total) by Glinka. Also in these songs, we can find his new and authentic expression through the harmonious blending of European techniques and traditional Russian folklore melodies, just as in his other works. I hereby am to have A Farewell to St. Petersburg as the subject of my paper to introduce his only art song cycle, because his works are so unknown to Korean people except The Lark that usually we cannot even get the scores even though his works is not only excellent in the musical history but also have a very beautiful melodies.
