Richard Strauss의 가곡 <Madchenblumen>Op.22에 대한 소고

Abstract

Richard Strauss (1864-1949)는 독일 후기 낭만주의 작곡가의 한 사람으로 60여년 동안에 걸쳐 창작을 하였으며, 19세기 말과 20세기에 걸쳐활동한 대표적 작곡가이다. 음악사에 있어서 Strauss의 교향시와 오페라가 매우 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있으나 전 생애에 걸쳐 작곡된 150여곡의 가곡 또한 그의 음악세계를 이해하는데 매우 중요한 장르라 하겠다. 본 논문의 연구대상인 "Ma¨dchenblumen" op.22는 1886년에서 1887년 사이에 작곡된 곡으로서 <Kornblumen>(수레바퀴 국화). <Mohnblumen>(양귀비꽃), <Epheu>(담쟁이 덩굴), <Wasserrose>(수련)로 구성되어 있고 우리에게 잘 알려지지 않은 Felix Dahn(1834-1912)의 시에 곡을 붙인 것이다. 이 곡은 Strauss의 작품시기로 볼 때 많은 걸작들이 씌여진 전기의 작품중 하나로 전기작품의 특징인 맑고 고운 서정성과 열정적인 감성이 잘표현되어 있다. 또한 반음계적인 멜로디와 낭송적인 선율, 많은 임시표심한 도약 등의 후기낭만적 특성도 잘 나타나고 있다. 이 곡은 각기 다른 성격을 소유한 여인의 모습을 꽃에 비유하여 시의 내용에 일치하는특성 있는 음악적 표현을 하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 Strauss의 음악적 특징이 잘 나타나있는 이 곡을 연구함으로써 그의 예술가곡에 대한 이해를 높이고 나아가서 이 곡의 올바른 해석과 연주에 도움이 되고자 한다. ; Richard Strauss(1864-1949), the representative composer of late romanticism in Germany was one of the leading figures in the history of German music. The subject of this study, op22 <Ma¨dchenblumen>is a work of art the belongs to the first period in his songwriting period and it is made up of four pieces, putting the poem written by an unfamous poet, Felix Dahn s <Ma¨dchenblumen>op.22 is compared each woman in that piece who has a different personality with flowers, he gives expressions which agree with the poem. In this thesis, I showed the propose and direction with which I had intended to analyze and Strauss carrer and the peculiarities of his Lieds. Also I analyzed their form, melody, harmony and rhythm and compared them one another.
