체험학습을 통한 미적 사고력 신장에 대한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 고등학교 학생들이 미술학습 활동을 통하여 창의적이고 능동적이며 심미적인 사고 활동을 하게 하고 그들의 생활 속에서 미술을 향유하고 즐길 수 있는 태도를 길러 주며 자신의 삶을 윤택하게 영위하도록 미적 사고력을 신장시키고자 하는 데 있다. 이를 위한 학습 방안으로 고등학교 미술 「감상」단원을 수업주제로 한 학습자 주도적 체험학습을 활용한 수업 모형을 제작, 인문계 남자 고등학교 1학년 4개 반 학생 158명을 대상으로 교수-학습 과정에 적용하였다. 이 수업의 효과를 알아보기 위하여 수업 전, 후 설문지와 평가지를 배포하여 감상수업에 대한 흥미도, 참여도, 미술에 대한 관심의 변화, 미적 안목의 향상, 미술과 생활의 연계성의 이해 정도의 변화 등에 대한 학생들의 반응을 조사·분석하고 그에 따른 교육적 의의를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 학습자 주도적 체험학습은 학습자들이 미적 사고력을 신장시키는데 있어서 능동적이고 주체적으로 사고하고 활동하는데 도움을 주었고 스스로 미적 대상을 발견하고 가치를 느낌으로써 미술에 대한 관심과 미술문화에 대한 애호정신이 높아졌다. 그리고 학습결과에 대한 자기평가 및 동료상호간의 토론을 통하여 미적 안목을 향상할 수 있었다. 또한 미술과 생활과의 연계성에 대해 직접 보고 생각함으로써 미술의 역할과 필요성을 이해하고 미술을 생활화할 수 있는 적극적인 자세를 고취시킬 수 있었다. 그리하여 학습자들이 가지고 있는 잠재적인 미적 사고력은 학습자 주도적 체험학습으로 충분히 계발, 유도시킬 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 일선 교사들은 학습자들에게 미적 사고력을 신장시키기 위한 학습의 기회가 제공될 수 있도록 지속적인 연구와 노력이 이루어져야 할 것으로 생각된다. ; The main object of this study was to encourage and train high school students to have active and aesthetic thinking thorough a series of art curriculum activities. The curriculum activities were intended to cultivate the attitude of enjoying art in everyday life and increase the ability to appreciate beauty thus guiding students to have a fuller and richer life. For these purposes, a self-directed, experience-based teaching model was designed and implemented to 158 first year high school boys in 4 different classes during their art lessons. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the research, surveys were carried out, before and after the art appreciation lessons, to assess the level of keenness and participation during art lessons, the change in the level of interest towards art in general, improvement in the ability to appreciate art and the level of students understanding of relationship between art and living. The study found that the self-directed, experience-based teaching method was able to help students to think and act more actively and independently with regard to improving their ability to appreciate beauty. By discovering objectives of beauties on their own and becoming aware of its values, students were able to increase the interest in art and heighten the love for art culture. Through discussions and by exchanging opinions about their lessons, they were also able to develop their own artistic judgment. By understating the relationship between art and living, the students became aware of the functions of art and were inspired to embrace art more actively as a part of everyday life. The study found that the self-directed, experience-based teaching method was able to develop and bring out students potential to appreciate beauties. In turn, one can conclude that teachers in classroom should always carry out research and make continuous effort to provide ways of giving students learning opportunities, which can improve their art appreciating abilities.
