Abstract

This study is Four Me´lodie by Franz Liszt with words by Victor Hugo who represent Romanticism. Franz Liszt(1811-1886) is a composer, pianist who was born in Raiding of Hungary. He is regarded as one of the world s most popular musician because his philosophical, religious and which was literary understanding and varied musical language. In the aspect of music, his music was based on the lyricism of Hector Berlioz(1803-1869), Fre´de´ric Chopin(1810-1849) and the craft manship of Nicolo Paganini(1782-1840). In the aspect of idea, he come into contact with most of the leading writers, including Hugo, Lamartine and Heine. Although he is not known as a famous song writer, he was written over 70 different songs with different language. Four Melodie with words by Victor Hugo show romantic color by frequent modulation, lyrical vocal melodies. It is rightly to be called the true class of "French Lieder". ; 본 논문은 프랑스 낭만주의를 대표하는 Victor Hugo(1802-1885)의 시에붙인 Franz Liszt의 4개 의 Me´lodie에 관한 연구이다. Franz Liszt(1811-1886)는 헝가리 Raiding 태생의 작곡자이자 피아니스트로 유럽 여러 나라의 여행을 통해 자신의 철학적, 종교적, 문화적이해와 함께 음악적인 다양한 어법을 구사한 국제적 작곡가이다. 음악적 측면에서 Hector Berlioz(1803-1869)의 표제음악은 그의 교향시 창작에 바탕이 되었고, Nicolo´ Pagarnini(1803-1840)의 기교적 연주는그의 초기 피아노 음악을 기교적으로 흐르게 하였으며, Fre´de´ric Chopin(1810-1849)의 서정적 선율과 혁신적 화성은 Liszt 작곡 양식의 기초를이루게 하였다. 사상적 측면에서 Liszt는 위고, 라마르틴, 하이네와의 교류를 통해 문학의 이해의 폭을 넓혔고, 작곡의 영감을 고대 문학이나소설 등에서 얻기도 하였다. 가곡 작곡가로서 크게 인지되지 않고 있는 것이 사실이지만, 실제로그는 여러 나라의 언어를 사용하여 70여곡에 달하는 많은 가곡을 작곡하였으며, 그 외에 합창음악과 교향시, 피아노곡 그리고 다수의 편곡 작품들이 있다. Victor Hugo의 시에 붙인 Liszt의 4개의 Me´lodie는 잦은 전조와 비기능적 화음이 조화를 이루는 선율들로 낭만적인 색채를 짙게 보여준다. 또한 서정성이 풍부한 성악 선율과 그와 조화를 이루는 반주부는폭넓은 감수성을 가진 묘사적이고 표현적인 Victor Hugo의 시와 Liszt음악의 완벽한 조화를 보여준다.
