음악자료의 목록정보 확장에 관한 연구

Abstract

도서관에서 음악자료를 검색할 때 이용자들은 대부분 서명에 해당되는 곡명 또는 책임표시사항에 해당하는 작곡자, 연주자 정보 등으로 접근을 시도한다. 그러나 실제 도서관에서 작성한 목록을 보면 악곡형식으로 표현된 곡명의 경우 숫자와 기호에 대한 색인이 불완전하고, 책임표시사항의 내용은 자료에 나타난 다양한 역할의 저자들을 표현하지 못한 경우가 많아 검색이 쉽게 이루어지지 않는다. 또한 음악자료는 수록된 텍스트 정보가 그다지 많지 않음에도 불구하고 이를 모두 표현하지 못하는 경우가 많다. 이들 정보를 모두 목록에 기술할 수 있다면 이용자가 음악자료를 검색하고 선택하는 데 많은 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다. 이에 본 연구는 온라인목록시스템에서 음악자료를 탐색하고 이용하는 데 나타나는 문제점 및 목록정보에 필요한 정보를 파악하고 이의 해결을 위한 음악자료 목록정보의 확장방안을 제안하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해서 음악자료 목록에 관한 이론을 조사 하였으며, 나타난 문제점의 개선 방안을 마련하기 위하여 AACR2R과 KCR 4판(안)의 기술규칙을 참조하여 목록정보의 확장 방안을 제안하였다. 제안된 확장방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 표제와 책임표시사항에서 나타나는 다양한 외국어 명칭 및 별칭으로의 접근은 각각의 유형에 따라 목록에 기술하고, 이들 유형별로 정리된 내용은 MARC의 해당 표목에 기입하거나 전거레코드에 기술하였다. 둘째, 작품번호, 조성(調性)과 같은 표제의 부분요소들은, 음악적 의미를 갖는 색인어로 구성하여 접근 가능하도록 하였다. 보통, f major는 f와 major가 따로 색인 되어 있으나, 음악자료는 f major 가 하나의 색인어가 된다. 셋째, 연주장소, 수상정보는 각각 수상주기 와 촬영/녹음일시와 장소주기 사항에 기술한 후 표목이 되도록 하여 접근가능하게 하였다. 넷째, 연주수단은 연주수단에 관한 주기를 생성하였다. 연주수단 주기 는 곡에 편성된 악기명을 규모에 따라 모두 기술할 수 있도록 하여 표제에 나타나지 않은 연주수단도 접근점이 되도록 하였다. 다섯째, 가사는 가사주기 를 생성한 후 모든 내용을 기술하였으며, 접근을 위한 색인 방법으로는 전문(全文)검색기법에 의한 키워드 추출방법과 소절별 색인 방법을 제안하였다. 여섯째, 다양한 인명정보의 역할구분은 MARC의 식별기호를 별도로 마련하였고, 역할어를 반드시 기입하도록 하였다. 일곱째, 형태적·내용적으로 관련된 음악자료간의 정보는 연관저록주기를 통해 나타내었다. 여덟째, 녹음자료의 인쇄된 딸림자료 또는 악보 보표에 나타나는 텍스트 정보는 참조정보로써 항목별로 기술하였다. 본 연구는 음악자료 목록정보의 문제점을 이용자의 접근과 이용의 관점에서 제기하였고, 기존의 목록정보를 토대로 하여 확장방안을 제안하였다. 제안된 확장방안을 통해 다양한 음악자료의 접근점과 기술요소를 발견할 수 있었다. 본 연구과정에서 파악된 이용자의 요구정보와 제안된 확장방안은 앞으로 다른 주제분야의 목록정보 확장에 참조가 될 수 있을 것이다. ; Retrieving music materials at library is rather difficult to compare with retrieving other subjects. The reason is that the library catalog cannot fully reflect the characteristics of music materials. The music materials have different forms of titles and various ways of accessing to keywords. And often, the text information of music materials is not expressed in an easier format even with the limited amount of materials. With all this in mind if we could provide all the potential access points and descriptive information in detail and apply them to catalog, it would be a greate help for the users. The purpose of this study is to pin point the problems of necessary information when searching for the music materials from OPAC(Online Public Access Catalog), and propose expansion on cataloging information. Therefore, the theoretical study of music materials catalog and needs of using the OPAC was collected through out the literature reviews. To provide the method of improvement, description rules of AACR2R and KCR 4 were introduced to expand its plans. This study suggested in detail as following ; 1. Translated headings that appeared in titles and statement of responsibility including different terminology should be described in the catalog by different types. This categorized information should be recorded corresponding to MARC or authority record. 2. Partial elements of title such as Chapter and Keys are accessible by keyword with musical meaning. For example, "F major" has two separate words "F" and "Major" in regular index. In other hand F Major is one word in music materials. 3. The place of event and information of awards are described in "Date/Time and Place of an Event Note" and "Awards Note" as access points. 4. "Musical Instrument Note" describes every musical instruments according to scales of the work. This note makes accessible with musical instrument in title, wihich is not described. 5. "Lyrics Note" describes all contents and keywords from each verse indexed for better access. 6. The classified part of various author information has its own subfield codes that can be entered with part name. 7. "Linking Entry Complexity Note" describes the information of related forms and contents within music materials. 8. The accompanying printed in sound recordings or the text information in note staff are itemized as reference. This study raised the questions in accessing to Cataloging Information of music materials for users and proposed an expansion device based on existing Cataloging Information. This improved expansion device reveals various access points of music materials and new descriptive elements. The needs of users and the improved expansion device found throughout the study can be instructive for expansion of cataloging information in other fields of subjects.
