꽃의 형상화에 의한 스카프 디자인 연구

Abstract

모든 인간은 자연에서 태어나 자연으로 돌아가는 물레방아와 같은 자연의 일원이다. 인간은 자연에 의해 끊임없는 감동을 받고 자연의 무한한 변화와 조화속에서 영향을 받으며 자연 환경 속에서 자신의 존재와 생명을 확인하며 자연을 계속적인 관찰과 표현의 대상으로 삼아왔다. 인간의 자연에 대한 관심과 표현의 충동은 인간이 생각하는 능력과 생활의 지혜가 진보됨에 따라 예술적 활동로 연결되어 왔다. 그러나 현대의 생활은 과학 문명의 발달과 환경 오염 등의 이유로 자연을 훼손시키고 있어 인간을 자연에서 물어지게 하고 있지만, 그럴수록 인간은 자연을 더욱 동경하고 그러한 마음을 예술적 표현을 통해 충족시키려는 의지가 강하게 나타난다. 따라서 본 연구자는 계절의 변화를 제일 먼저 알여주는 꽃을 소재로 그 아름다움의 이미지를 조형화 함으로써 염색공예의 실용적 표현의 간으성을 확고히 구축하려는데 그 목적을 두었다. 이를 위한 이론적 기반으로 자연의 형상화(자연과 예술, 꽃의 상징성, 이미지의 형상화)와 스카프 디자인(스카프의 역사와 변천, 스카프 디자인으 구성요소)에 대해 문헌들을 통해 고찰해보고, 작품제작을 위해 소재의 선택이나 재료와 기법(스탠실과 발염)을 연구하며, 이러한 이론적 배경과 작품제작을 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 자연의 모든 현상이나 사물은 관찰과 표현을 통해 미적 창조에 대한 무한한 소재를 제공해주며, 그것을 연구자의 개성적이고 창조적인 이미지로 형상화 할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다 둘째, 자연의 여러 가지 소재 중 자연의 변화와 조화, 그리고 질서를 보여주는 꽃은 여러 가지 상징적 의미를 지니고 있는데, 주로 아름다움, 화려함, 번영, 영화로움 등의 긍정적 의미를 가지고 있다. 이러한 의미에서 꽃은 본 연구자의 작품을 표한하기에 좋은 소재였다. 또한 꽃의 형상화에 따른 이미지를 소재로 단순화 과정을 통한 형태의 변형이 새로운 텍스타일 패터디자인의 모티브가 될 수 있는 것을 알았다. 셋째, 발염을 위한 작업을 할 때 섬유의 종류와 염료,호료(종류, 내약품성, 농도), 발염제(종류, 양, 보관정도), 중열 처리의 조건(최소 80도 이상)의 상관관계는 매우 중요하다는 것을 알았다. 처음에는 발염제의 사용이 서툴러서 발염작업 후 증열 처리를 하면 발색이 되지 않아 여러 번의 재 작업을 했었고, 그에 다른 어려움이 있었다. 또한 염료롸 섬유(mesh, 수직)의 특성파악에 어려움이 있었고 스텐실과 발염, 두 가지 기법의 특징을 공통적으로 잘 나타낼 수 있는 표현을 찾는데 어려움이 다르기도 했다. 그러나 여러 번의 실패와 재 작업을 통해 수공예 염색만이 지닐 수 있는 독특한 표현양식과 기법의 다양성을 알 수 있었다. 이상의 연구가 자연의 미를 대표하는 꽃 중 하나인 코스모스를 소재로 하여 패션소품인 스카프에 적용시켜 자연의 형상화를 이룬 연구라 생각하며, 본 연구자는 앞으로 수공예 염색의 독자적 기법개발을 위하여 염색기법의 혼합사용 가능성을 심도있게 연구하고자하며 이를 바탕으로 텍스타일 디자인의 고부가가치를 창출할 수 있는 모티브와 기법개발에 매진해보려고 한다.; We all inherently hold a membership to this very fundamental and broad class. Like water that cycles the water wheel, we are born from nature and eventually return to the same. We have been ceaselessly impressed and effected by the unlimited modifications and trasformations of nature and its harmony. And we have confirmed our very existence and life by making nature the target of our continual observation and expression. With the development of our abilities to think and of our wisdom about life. interest for and the impulse of expression of nature has come to be interwined with artistic activities. Though modern life has marred nature through environmental pollution produced as a by-product of scientific and technological development, we long more for nature. And we express this desire to satisfy our longings through artistic expression. Therefore I, as a researcher, have tried to take the beauty of flowers. which is the earliest sign we have indicating changes of seasons, using this element to capture their images. My objectives are to firmly onstruct the possiblities of expressing the practicality of the art of dyeing. For the theoretical foundation. I have researched through making patterns of nature(human and nature, nature and art, making patterns of images), and scarf design (the history and transformations of scarves, the constructive elements of scarf design). I have also researched the choices of materials and methods for the pieces. Through these theoretical backgrounds and activities, I have reached the below conclusions. First, through observations and expressions, I realized that nature provides limitless materials for artistic creation so that researchers can create special and uniquely creative images. Second, among the vast numbers and species of life in nature, flowers enable us to realize change, harmony, and nature s system. Flowers symbolize images such as beauty, splendor, flourishing life, and luxury. Therefore, flowers are highly appropriate subject matter for the expression of artistic pieces. I discovered that, through the modification of the images of flowers by simplification, a new textile pattern motif was born. Third, I realized the importance of being familiar with the interrelations amongst a fabric s nature, dye, indalca, discharge printing agent, and the steaming condition (at least 80 Celsius degrees) while I was working on a discharge printing. Initially, I experienced difficulty as I did not fully understand the proper use of discharge printing agents. Though it was challenging to access specific characters of dyes and fibers, as well as difficult to achieve a good expression of the special features of the two methods-- stenciling and discharge printing-- I came to understand better the breadth of the unique expressions and techniques of dying art. I believe that this research presents the modification of the image of flowers by applying the image of the cosmos to a scarf. I will continue to research and experiment with the use of dyeing techniques and to develop unique handcraft dyeing mehtods. Overall, I will be striving for technical developments to add to textile designing.
