중학생의 자살 생각 실태에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 지난 몇 십년간 급증하고 있는 청소년 자살의 원인의 전반적 실태를 파악하고, 최근 사회의 문제가 되고 있는 자살사이트에 대한 중학생의 접속 경험 및 자살생각에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 중학생 자살생각에 영향을 미치는 변인을 밝혀보고자 하였다. 본 연구의 조사를 위해 서울 및 서울 근교의 3개의 중학교 1, 2, 3 학년 학생 남자 161명, 여자 156명, 총 317명을 대상으로 자살에 대한 태도 및 실태, 자살사이트 접속경험 및 자살충동여부, 자살생각, 스트레스, 가정화목, 일반적 특성 등에 관한 설문조사를 하였다. 결과 분석은 SPSS/WIN PC를 사용하였으며, Cronbach s α, 기술통계분석, T-Test, One-Way ANOVA, 상관관계분석, 단순회귀분석, 다중회귀 분석의 통계기법을 사용하였다. 본 논문의 주요결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 조사대상자의 자살생각 실태를 알아본 결과 조사대상자 절반이상이 자살생각을 경험한 것으로 나타났으며, 성별에 따라 자살생각이 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 또한 자살생각 최초의 시기는 초등학교시절이 가장 많았고, 유치원때 자살생각을 했다는 응답도 있어 청소년 자살생각이 보편적으로 존재하며, 자살생각이 매우 어릴 때부터 시작되는 것으로 나타나 문제의 심각성을 보여주었다. 자살생각의 횟수를 살펴본 결과 한 두 번 자살생각을 경험한 학생이 가장 많았지만, 거의 매일 자살생각을 한다는 대상자도 있었으며, 자살생각이 들었을 때 한 행동은 시간이 흐르면서 잊는 경우가 많았지만, 자살방법을 생각하거나 자살을 시도했다는 응답도 나타나 자살예방 개입이 매우 시급함을 보여주었다. 둘째, 자살하고 싶은 상황으로는 공부부담 , 희망 없음 , 부모불화 등의 항목이 자살생각과 가장 높은 상관관계를 보였고, 또한 자살생각을 누구와 상의하고 싶은가에 대한 질문에 조사대상자 대부분이 자살생각을 상의하지 않거나 상의할 대상을 찾지 못한 것으로 나타나 자살생각을 의논할 적절한 상담자가 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 일반적 특성, 자살실태, 자살사이트 접속경험과 자살생각과의 관계를 알아본 결과 학업성적의 차이, 부모님 구성, 성별, 구타경험이 자살생각과 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 자살사이트 접속경험은 전체 조사대상자 중 7.3%이었고, 자살사이트에 접속 경험이 있는 대상자들은 접속 시 자살충동을 거의 느끼지 못한 것으로 나타났으며, 자살사이트 접속 경험과 자살생각은 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타나 자살사이트 접속경험이 자살생각에 많은 영향을 미칠 것이라는 사회통념과는 다른 결과를 보였다. 넷째, 스트레스 및 가정화목은 자살생각에 모두 P<.001 수준에서 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 스트레스의 각 항목의 경험과 자살생각은 총 28개의 항목 중에서 12개의 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 학업 관련 스트레스 항목 4개중에서 3개의 문항이 자살생각과 유의미한 관계를 나타내었고, 가정 관련 스트레스도 10개의 항목 중에서 5개의 항목이 자살생각과 유의미한 관계를 보여 중학생들의 자살생각에 학업과 가정에 대한 스트레스가 자살생각과 관련이 많은 것으로 나타났다. 중학생들은 외모를 중시하는 최근의 사회의 분위기에 따라 외모에 대한 스트레스를 경험한 학생은 경험하지 않은 학생에 비해 자살생각이 유의미하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 가정화목도의 6가지 항목은 모두 자살생각과 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 자살생각에 대한 독립변수들의 영향력을 알아본 결과 스트레스, 가정화목, 성별, 구타의 순으로 자살생각에 큰 영향력을 가진 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 조사대상자들이 스트레스를 많이 경험할수록, 가정이 화목하지 않다고 지각할수록, 여학생일수록, 구타를 경험할수록 자살생각을 하게 된다고 할 수 있다. 이상에서 살펴본 바와 같이 중학생의 자살생각 경험이 보편적으로 존재하였고, 자살생각을 경험하는 시기가 역시 매우 이른 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 가치관을 형성해야하는 청소년 시기의 발달 적 특성상 삶과 죽음에 대한 올바른 태도를 형성해 주어야 할 필요성이 요청되었으며, 자살생각 경험 학생들 중 대부분은 자살생각을 시간이 지남에 따라 잊는 것으로 나타났지만, 자살방법을 생각하거나 자살을 시도한 경우도 있었다. 또한 조사대상자 대부분은 자살생각을 상의하지 않거나, 상의할 사람을 모른다고 하여 자살생각이 자살기도로 진행되기 전 적절히 개입하고 자살생각을 상담해줄 상의자가 매우 필요하다고 여겨졌다. 조사 대상자 대부분이 자살사이트가 청소년 자살생각에 많은 영향을 미칠 것이라는 응답과는 달리 자살사이트 접속 경험자는 자살사이트에서 자살충동을 거의 느끼지 못한 것으로 나타났고, 자살사이트 접속경험은 자살생각에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 자살사이트가 자살의 원인이라기보다는 자살생각의 결과일 수 있었다. 중학생의 자살생각은 변인들이 복합적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 지각된 스트레스가 높을수록 가정화목을 낮게 지각할수록, 여학생일수록, 구타를 경험할수록 중학생의 자살생각이 높게 나타났다. 따라서 이러한 결과를 토대로 청소년 자살을 예방하기 위해서 스트레스에 대한 대응방법을 훈련하고, 학교 내·외의 구타를 방지하고 가정의 역할을 강화하는 등 청소년을 둘러싼 사회 심리환경의 대책마련이 필요하다. ; This study is about an adolescent suicidal ideation and the main cause for a suicidal ideation which is increasing for several years, also I analyzed relationship in an adolescent suicidal ideation, Suicide Site in Internet, finding the parameter which is under the influence of an adolescent suicidal ideation. This sample is from 3 junior high school in Seoul Korea. They constitute first, second, third class in junior high school with 161 male students, 156 female students, total 317 students. The contents of sample is actual condition of Suicidal Ideation, Fact of Suicide, Experience Connecting of Suicide Site in The Internet, Impulse of Suicide, Thought of Suicide, Stress, Relationship with Family Member, General Trend. SPSS/WIN was used. Cronbach s α, technical statistical analysis, T-Test, One-Way ANOVA, correlation analysis, simple regression analysis, multiple regression analysis were used The results of this study are as follow: First, half of the students think a suicide. They think suicide in elementary school period. Even they think suicide in kindergarten, so a suicidal ideation is quite general and even they are very young. This is a serious problem. They think suicide one or two times. But some students think suicide every day. Many students do not try suicide and they forget a suicidal ideation soon, but few students try suicide or think how to suicide. This means that we need to make some protection to prevent a suicidal ideation. Second, there is a correlation in Stress of Study, No Hope, Bad Parent Relationship. The students want to discuss for a suicidal ideation, but most students do not discuss for a suicidal ideation, because there are few counselor for this kind of topic. Third, after research for relationship of a suicidal ideation among general tendency, suicide reality, experience connecting suicide Site in Internet and suicide thought, there is a relationship in dissatisfaction of school achievement, constitution of family members, sex, experience of assault and battery. 7.3 % students have the experience for connecting suicide Site in Internet, also there is almost no relationship between suicide Site in the Internet and impulse of a suicidal ideation. There is a striking contrast from our socially accepted idea of suicide Site in Internet. Fourth, stress and relationship of family member is significant at P<0.001 level. Korea society gives people higher value in appearance, so if the students experience the stress from appearance, there is a higher suicidal ideation. Fifth, after analyzing independent parameter for suicide, there is a relationship for a suicidal ideation in order through stress, relationship of family member, sex, assault and battery. The students who get a lot of stress think a suicidal ideation more. The students who have bad family relationship think a suicidal ideation more. The female students think a suicidal ideation more. As my research, the experience of suicide thought exists generally in junior high school students. They think a suicidal ideation when they are still young. Adolescent is an important period for life, so we should give them a right way to live well. Most students just think a suicidal ideation, and forget soon, but some students try suicide and think how to do that. Most students who attended this research do not discuss with anybody for a suicide act and they do not know how to find a counselor. So it is very important to get a good counselor. Most students said that suicide Site in the Internet did not influence for their suicidal ideation. Statistically there is no relationship between suicide thought and suicide Site in the Internet. Therefore suicide Site in the Internet does not cause to suicide, but suicide Site in the Internet is the result from a suicidal ideation. There are a lot of parameters of suicide thought for junior high school student. Higher stress, bad relationship of family member, female student, experience of assault and battery cause higher suicidal ideation. The best way to prevent adolescent suicide is that we should reduce stress, good relationship of family member, prevention of assault and battery.
