Francis Poulenc의 가곡집 'Banalites'에 관한 연구

Abstract

Francis Poulenc(1899-1963)은 27세기 불란서의 대표적 작곡가이다. 그는 자신이 살던 생전에는 진가를 제대로 인정받지 못하였지만 현재는 프랑스 예술 가곡인 meodic에 있어서 Gabriel Faure(1845-1924), Claude Debussy(1862 - 1918), Maurice Ravel(1875-1937의 뒤를 이어 가장 권위적이고 대중적인 작곡가로 인정받고 있다. Poulenc은 당시 20세기 초반 음악의 주요 특징인 12음 기법이나 무조성과는 달리 조성체계 안에서 전통적인 작곡법에 의거하여 작곡하였다. 그리고 프랑스 6인조(Les six)의 일원이었지만 곧, 혼자만의 독특한 작곡 양식을 구축 ·발전시켰다. 그는 20세기 음악가 중 가장 듣기 쉬운 음악 등을 남겼고, 그의 음악은 유머와 재치가 넘치고 발랄하며 또한 재미있다. 본 연구자는 석사과정 졸업 연주회의 프로그램 중 Poulenc의 작품을 선택 · 연주하게 되었고, 본 논문을 통해 Poulenc의 작곡세계에 대한 세밀한 연구와 분석을 하고자 하였다. 특히 그의 작품 중 음악적으로도 뛰어나고, 대중적으로도 인기가 있는 가곡집 [Banalites]의 5곡, <Chanson d Orkenise>, <Hotel>, <Fagnes de Wallonies>, <Voyage a Paris>, <Sanglots>를 분석하여 그만의 독자적이고 개성적인 작곡 스타일에 대해 알아보고, 더 나아가서 그의 가곡을 효과적으로 실제 연주하는데에 본 연구를 접목시키고자 하였다. ; Francis Poulenc(1899-1963) was a leading French composer of the early 20th century. Poulenc was not properly recognized in his time, but now, he is recognized as one of the most authoritative and popular composer in French Songs, Melodie with Faure, Debussy and Ravel. His music was based on tonal structure, not on twelve-note technique or atonal structure, which were the main characteristics of the time. Though he was a member of the French six, soon he established and developed his own way of composing. Among the 20th century musicians, his music is the easiest on ears. Moreover, his music is full of humor and wit, and is also lively and fun. With this timing, it was viewed as appropriate for this candidate to select and play one of Poulenc’s piece in the program of graduation recital for masters degree, and to proceed with detailed study and analysis of Poulenc’s musical world through this thesis. By probing <Chanson d’Orkenise>, <Hotel>, <Fagnes de Wallonies>, <Voyage a Paris> and <Sanglots>, the five pieces of his Song Cycle [Banalites], which is one of his most popular and acclaimed songs, this thesis will find out about his independent and characteristic style. Furthermore, it will also try to provide aid to the efficiency in actual studies of his work.
