초등학교 자연교과에서 학습결손 예방을 위한 가정학습에 있어서 교사 학부모 의견조사 : 물리와 지구과학 영역을 중심으로

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 과학 학습에서 발생하는 부진현상을 예방하고 치유하기 위해서 가정과 학교가 연계하여 가정 학습을 실시할 필요성을 느끼고, 초등학교 과학 학습을 효과적으로 지도할 수 있는 가정 학습 모형을 구성하기 위한 기초 자료를 제공하려는데 있다. 이를 위하여 초등학교 자연과 물리와 지구과학 영역에서의 학습부진아의 발생원인과 이들의 일반적 특성을 살펴보고, 과학과의 특성을 조사하여 이들 학습부진아들의 학업성취도를 높이기 위한 학습프로그램의 개발을 위하여 문헌 검토를 하였다. 그리고, 과학 학습 부진아를 효과적으로 지도하기 위하여 가정학습에 대한 초등학교 교사와 학부모의 생각을 설문 조사하였다. 그 조사 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 초등학교 교사들의 설문 조사 결과, 가정학습의 바른 지도방법을 모색하기 위하여 과학교육의 지도 방향(목표)과 교육과정의 이해 및 교수방법 등을 그 내용으로 하는 학부모와 교사간의 상담 및 워크숍이 필요하다. 뿐만 아니라, 학습내용이 현저하게 떨어지는 것으로 판단되는 학생의 개인지도를 가정과 학교가 연계하여 교육할 필요성이 있으며, 가정학습의 중요성 및 과제해결을 위한 학습태도 개선에 관한 협의가 이루어져야 한다. 2. 초등학교 교사들은 과학 학습 부진아의 원인으로 선수학습의 결손과 함께 과학 학습에 대한 흥미 부족 때문이라고 보고 있으며, 따라서 학생의 과학에 대한 부정적인 태도를 예방하기 위해서 가정에서 과학관, 박물관, 실험실 등의 현장학습을 통한 다양한 경험의 기회를 제공하기를 바라는 것으로 나타났다. 3. 가정에서 부모가 과학학습 지도할 때, 과학학습을 하는데 있어서의 효과적인 방법을 모르기 때문에 지도하기 어렵다는 의견이 높았으며, 학부모가 자녀의 과학학습을 도와줄 때 학교에서 지원해 주기 바라는 것은 학교에서 실제로 실시되는 과학학습의 목표와 방향에 대한 정보 제공으로 나타났다. 또한 과학학습을 할 수 있는 교수학습자료 개발도 필요하다. 4. 과학 교과 내용의 특성은 위계가 비교적 뚜렷하여 하위개념의 습득여부가 상위개념 습득에 결정적인 역할을 하기 때문에 대부분의 단원에서 완전학습이 이루어져야 하며, 특히 물리 영역의 ‘전자기’ 분야와 지구과학 영역의 ‘천문학’ 분야는 후속학습에 미치는 영향이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 현재 학급 또는 학교에서 학습 부진아를 위해 실시되는 특별지도와 가정 과학 학습을 위한 학부모 참여 프로그램은 거의 없는 것으로 나타났다. 학교에서 선수학습 결손 학생을 위한 개별적 보충학습 뿐만 아니라 가정과 학교가 연계하여 가정에서 실시할 수 있는 가정학습 프로그램의 개발이 시급하다. ; The purpose of this study is to examine the ideal home training model in order to cure the underachievers on science course. This study is briefly analyze the crucial cause of the underachievers on science course and the specific character of science course in order to develop a better study program through the previous studies. And also this paper is to investigate the attitude of home training between teachers and parents to cure the underachievers on science course. The finding results of this study are as follows. 1. Some workshop between teachers and parents are strongly recommended in order to communicate each other and to understand the purpose of science course and its teaching method. And also the deliberation council is required for the private lessons of the underachievers as well. 2. The teachers regard the underachievers on science as less interested student in science course due to some unsatisfied prerequisites. Hence, the underachievers should have a wide experience with some related science factors such as science museum and laboratory in order to extirpate the students negative attitude to the science course. 3. Even though some personal lessons on science are done by parents, it is difficult because they don t have any specific teaching methodology at all. Some workshops and some teaching materials on science course should be introduced. 4. There are some distinct characters of science course. One of them is that science course requires some prerequisites so that it is a sort of sequence study. Especially Electromagnetic in the Physics area and Astronomy in the Earth science area, the prerequisites are essential. Up to now, there is no specific program for the underachievers with parents participation. Students under the deficiencies in prerequisites should have some concrete home training program which is developed by both school and home.
