현대음악의 시공간성을 적용한 환경디자인 연구

Abstract

현대사회는 기계주의적 획일성에 의하여 환경이 파괴되고 있다. 본 연구자는 이러한 시점에서 디자인을 통하여 인간의 정신적 가치를 창출하고 삶의 질을 확보하고자 하는데에서서 그 의의를 갖고 있다. 본 연구자의 주제는 현대음악의 시공간성을 적용한 환경디자인 연구로서 음악의 시공간성을 공간디자인에 적용한 것이다. 예술적 정신적 가치인 음악과 디자인은 결국 통합되어야 한다고 본다. 이것은 21세기에 시대정신이며, 모든예술이 나아가야할 방향인 것이다. 음악과 건축은 시간예술과 공간예술로 분리되어 인류의 시작과 함께 공존해왔다. 그러나 근래에 이르러 음악과 건축을 각각 따로 분리하기 보다는 상호간의 합일점을 ?O고, 예술활동에 있어서 서로의 미적원리를 사용하는 것을 볼 수 있다. 음악은 작곡가의 의도에 의해 공간성이 나타나도록 작곡되었고 건축에서는 음악이론과 비례법칙을 사용한 작품을 볼 수 있다. 이렇게 각각의 미적원리는 창작활동의 밑받침이 되고 있다. 음악에서 나타나는 시간성 뿐만 아니라 공간성은 환경디자인 창작에 있어서 미적원리를 제공할 수 있다고 보고 연구자는 전일적 관점에 의해서 환경디자인의 틀을 제공할 수 있다는 생각으로 연구에 임하였다. 공간과 시간의 가역성과 호환성을 말해주는 상대성 이론 처럼 시간성과 공간성에 관하여 음악과 디자인 분야에 접근시킬 수 있다. 조형적 원리와 개념들이 나타나는 현대음악과 음악적인 모티브가 공존하는 현대건축의 미적원리와 분석을 통해 음악과 건축은 상호 관련성이 있음을 다시한번 알 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 다음의 5가지 단계에 의하여 연구가 진행되었다. 1. 환경디자인에 있어서 시스템이론과 자연과학적 패러다임안에서의 시공이론을 알아보고 시간과 공간에 대하여 알아보았다. 2. 음악에서 나타나는 공간성, 건축에서 나타나는 시간성의 고찰을 통해 통합 학문으로서의 가능성을 모색해보았다. 3. 과거 비례체계에서 나타난 음악과 건축의 상호관련성을 통해서 환경디자인으로서의 발전가능성을 모색해 보았다. 4. 현대음악과 현대건축에서 나타나는 미적원리를 알아보고 사례분석을 통하여 디자인 방향을 실제 공간에서의 적용가능성을 확대시켰다. 5. 이러한 모든 방향을 종합하여 디자인을 도출하여 현대작곡가인 Ligeti의 작품에서 미적 원리를 ?O고 환경디자인으로 적용시켰다. 이러한 모든과정은 결국, 예술적 가치에 도달한 정신적 상태(the-State -of-the-Art)로서만이 가능하며, 오직 한가지 예술로서만 존재하기보다는 관계성을 갖고 통합되어질 때 가능하다는 것을 인식하게 하였다. 즉, 음악과 건축의 관계가 중요하고 예술적 가치를 위한 통합 속에서 인간의 삶이 영위될 때, 그 질이 향상될 것이라는 믿음을 갖고 연구에 임하였다. ; In the modern society the environment is beings destroyed by mechanized uniformity. With this point in mind this paper has its significance in enhancing the value of the human mind and the quality of life through design. The paper will focus on the time and space aspects of music and the possibility of implementing the esthetic principles to environmental design. The artistic mental value of music and design should be integrated and it is the view of the researcher that this will be the spirit of the times in the 21st century. Music and architecture have been specified as time art and spatial art from the beginning of mankind. However recently music and architecture have not been separated but rather have been searching for uniformity in applying the esthetic principles of each to the other. Composers have tried to show space in their music intendedly and the use of musical theories and proportional representation can be seen in many buildings. Thus the esthetic principles are being used as the base of creative activity. It is the view of the researcher that the time and space aspects represented in music can add creativity to environmental design and thus a framework is possible. As the theory of relativity shows the reversible compatability between time and space, music and design can be integrated. The models and principles of space found in modern music and the musical motifs found in modern architecture show the mutual relationship between the two. This paper has been conducted by the following procedures. 1. Research on space in music and time in architecture and the possibility of an integrated science. 2. Interpret the time-space theories within the paradigm of natural science and apply them to music. 3. Investigate the possibilities of proportionality in environmental design through previous mutual interrelationships of proportionality in music and architecture. 4. Study of esthetic principles on modern music and modern architecture including a case study to implement the possibilities to design. 5. Analyze the esthetic principles found in modern compositions and apply them to environmental design. In conclusion these procedures are possible only through the realization of the-state-of-the-art and integrating the various arts into one. Thus the following paper concludes that the relationship between music and architecture is important and that through the integration of artistic value the quality of life can be improved.
