프랙탈 기하학 원리를 응용한 환경디자인 방법 연구

Abstract

20세기 현대 물리학의 대두와, 이에 따른 패러다임 변화라는 시대적 흐름에서, 예술과 과학은 더 이상 동떨어진 분야가 아닌 하나의 통합체로서의 역할을 수행해야 하며, 과학과 예술의 접목시킨 새로운 사고와 접근 방법의 필요성이 절실해지고 있다. 본 논문은 이런 시대적 흐름에 맞추어, 새로운 디자인 방법과 디자인 사고를 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구는 21세기 과학인 카오스 이론과, 그것을 기하학적인 형태로 발전시킨 프랙탈 이론을 디자인에 접목시키고, 예술과 과학의 통합체로서의 환경 디자인 방법을 찾기 위한 새로운 시도이다. 특히 본 연구의 핵심은, 프랙탈 개념을 디자인으로 응용한 사례를 근거로, 다양한 디자인 실험을 통해, 그 접근 방법을 찾았다는데 있다. 본 연구는 프랙탈 기하학과 형태를 응용하여 디자인하는 접근 방법으로, 현대와 미래 사회에 맞는 새로운 디자인 방법을 제시하는데 연구의 목적을 두고, 다음과 같은 과정으로 진행하였다. 1. 패러다임의 변화와 과학의 변화에 따른 시대적 디자인의 변화과정을 검토 하고, 프랙탈 기하학의 환경 디자인 적용의 가능성과 필요성을 고찰한다. 2. 연구의 기본 배경으로서, 뉴패러다임과 같이하는 카오스과학의 배경, 정의와 특성, 관견이론을 서술하면서, 질서 무질서, 혼돈에 대한 변화된 관점을 서술한다. 또한 카오스 현상을 기하학적 모델로 체계화시킨 프랙탈 미학의 개념과 특징을 설명해서, 프랙탈 생성원리, 조형개념을 서술한다. 3. 프랙탈이론과 타 학문, 사상과의 관계성을 알아보기 위해 프랙탈 미학의 조형 개념과 유기적 건축이론과 형태와의 연관성을 찾아 분석하고, 프랙탈 이론과 동양사상과의 유사성을 설명한다. 4. 프랙탈 형태의 기하학적 특성과 조형원리를 파악하기 위해, 객관적인 자료를 분석해 디자인 언어와 조형언어를 추출해 낸다. 그 방법으로 패턴, 예술 작품, 건축공간, 도시, 시간 속의 프랙탈 형태와 디자인 사례를 조사하고, 적용 방법과 조형 원리를 찾아낸다. 5. 디자인 실험단계에서는 추출해낸 프랙탈 조형원리를 이용해, 환경 공간 디자인에 적용 가능성을 실험한다. 하나의 대상지에 다른 다자인 패턴과 형태의 공간 디자인을 실현 해본다. 6. 디자인 적용 단계에서는 공간속의 프랙탈 형태와 이론을 응용한 디자인 실험을 통해, 조형 원리를 추출해 내고, 위에서 실험했던 여러 공간 디자인 중의 하나를 실제 구축환경에 적용하고 구체화시켜 실제 건축 공간을 계획, 분석, 도출해 내면서 연구의 내용을 정리한다. 본 연구 결과, 환경 디자인은 과학과 예술의 통합체로서의 새로운 패러다임과 시대의 흐름, 사상을 담아야 함을 재인식하게 되었다. 또한 미래를 이끌어 가는 미적 가치와 경험의 장으로서 환경을 인식하고, 인간과 환경의 관계성을 발견하고 적용하면서, 시대에 부합하는 과학적인 방법으로 환경 디자인에 접근해야 됨을 알게 되었다. 프랙탈을 적용한 본 연구의 디자인 접근 방법과 시도는 21세기 미래의 환경 디자인에 적용 가능한 하나의 방향을 제시하였음에 그 의의를 둔다, 건축과 환경디자인에서의 이러한 접근은 시작 단계에 있는 무한한 연구의 가능성과 가치를 지니는 분야가 될 것이라 생각한다. ; Due to the emergence of modern physics and its influence upon the changes of paradigm in the 20th century, art and science should fill a role of an unification of themselves, not of separated ones. A new way of think and approach is also needed to merge the both, the art and science. In this paper, a new way of design and a new idea of design are presented. This study is also a new attempt to apply the chaos theory and the fractal theory, which has been expanded to a geometrical pattern, to a design method and to develop the design method, an integration of both art and science. The significance of this study is that a way of approach to the design is founded by the means of various design experiments and examples, which implement the concept of fractals. This study, an approach to a design that apply the fractal geometry and its patterns, has an object of presenting a new design method suitable for the modern and future world. The process of study is given below. 1. Examine the periodical changes of design caused by the change of paradigm and science, and investigate the necessity and possibility of applying fractal geometry to environmental design. 2. To give a background of this study, the basis of chaos, its definition, property and related theory os mentioned and discuss the varied point of view of order and disorder and chaos. Principles of fractals and concept of forms are mentioned by means of explanation of concepts and features of fractal esthetics, which organize phenomena of chaos into geometric models. 3. To find a relation of fractal theory and other studies and thoughts, analysis the relation concept of forms in fractal esthetics and theory of organic architecture, and explain the similarity of fractal theory and orientalism. 4. To understand geometric features of fractal forms and its principles of modeling, analysis objective data deduce a language for design and modeling. As the one of the methods, investigate examples which show fractal patterns in arts, architecture, city and the time. 5. Making use of principles of fractal modeling which comes from the stage of experiment of design, experiment the possibility of applying to environment space design and try to realize spatial design with various patterns and forms on one object land. 6. On the stage of application of design, through the design experiment which apply the fractal theory and patterns, principles of modeling can be induced. One of the spatial designs mentioned above is applied to real set up environment. The planning and the analysis of real construction space are made as results. As results of this study, it is recognized that environmental design, as an integration of art and science, should have new paradigm, the follow of the times and thoughts. It is also understand that we recognize the environment as a value of beauty and a stage of experience, find the relation between human and environment and should get close to the environmental design by means of scientific way corresponding to the times. The significance of this study, which adopts the fractals, is that one of the possible way of application to the 21st century, future environmental design. The mentioned approach in the area of architecture and environmental design will be able to suggest an infinite possibility of research and the values.
