P. Hindemith의 viola sonata op.11, no.4에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 Paul Hindemith(1895. 11. 16～1963. 12. 28)가 1919년에 작곡한 Viola Sonata Op.11, No.4를 연구, 분석한 것이다. Viola Sonata Op.11, No.4는 그의 초기 작품으로 Brahms와 Reger의 후기낭만형식을 따르면서도 중립적으로 대위법적 기법과 불협화음의 풍부한 사용으로 반 낭만주의 경향도 잘 나타나고 있다. 이 작품은 3악장으로 구성되어 있으며 매악장은 쉬지않고 연주된다. 제1악장은 낭만적 선율의 주제를 가진 도입부 성격의 환상곡으로 잦은 전조와 변화 화음이 사용되었다. 주제선율은 viola와 piano가 주고받는 형태를 이루고 있다. 2악장은 러시아 민요풍의 주제와 4개의 변주가 연속적으로 구성되어있으며 변주곡은 각기 개별적이지만 점차 대위적으로 변화하는 모습이 증가된다. 3악장은 2악장의 주제에 의한 3개의 변주곡을 포함하는 Finale로 되어 2악장과 연결된 느낌이 강하다. Sonata형식 악장과 유사하게 2가지 대조되는 idea를 사용하였고 2악장과 마찬가지로 잦은 변박·전조·동형진행이 돋보인다. 이 Sonata는 그가 작곡한 Viola Sonata들 중에서도 특히 간결하고 아름다우면서도 열정을 내포하고 있는 작품으로 Viola 주자를 위한 대표적인 레퍼토리중 하나로 꼽힌다. ; Paul Hindemith was an important German composer, theorist, performer, conductor, and educator of the 20th century. He systematized his harmonic theory and composed his unique and lively music on the basis of neoclassic style. This thesis analyzes the style of his Sonata for viola and piano, Op.11, No.4, which was composed in 1919. The style can be explained as follows; The sonata is composed of three movements without pousing. The first movement is fantasy of introduction. The second movement is the theme and four variation forms. The third movement is the finale with three variation forms. The characteristics of this work is to substitute the variation form with second and third movement. The variation form is the basic of component the classic music. Interval relationship of fifth and third in melody can be a main stream. Usage of cadence harmony briefly and stably gives an unity to this music. The piano and viola play sequential progression or are connected harmoniously in mutual imitations. In regard to key, he tried to show the tonal centers strongly. This work used contemporary composing skill with routine and conservative rhythm and meter. Thus, viola Sonata Op.11, No.4 presents intensive tendency of early work of Hindemith. This work is one of the eary masterpiece of Hindemith s which tends toward neoclassicism.
