Georges Bizet의 이국적 취향의 melodie에 대한 연구

Abstract

Georges Bizet (1838-1875)는 19세기 프랑스의 대표적 작곡가이다. Bizet는 오페라<Carmen>(카르멘)으로 사실적이며 실제적인 공감대를 형성하여 프랑스의 국민오페라라는 새 장르를 창조하는데 성공하였으며 항상 추구해 오던 이국적 정서를 보다 독창적으로 사용하였다. 일반적으로 Bizet는 뛰어난 극음악 작곡가로 알려져 있으나 매혹적이며 독특한 가곡을 작곡하기도 하였다. Bizet는 Berlioz, Gounod와 함께 19세기 중엽이후 프랑스의 melodie가 독자적인 한 장르로 발전한 시기에 활동하였다. 그의 melodie는 크게 소박하면서도 서정적인 Gounod의 행로를 따르는 것과 지방색의 표현으로 인한 이국적인 취향의 곡으로 나뉘는데, Bizet의 melodie중에서 특히 주목할 만한 것은 이국적인 취향의 곡이다. 그의 가장 잘 알려진 melodie인 <Adieux de l htesse arabe>(아랍 여인의 이별)은 가장 대표적인 이국적인 취향의 곡으로 아랍여인이 백인의 방랑객에게 슬픈 이별을 고하는 내용의 Hugo의 시를 가사로 한 탄탄한 극적 구성의 작품이다. 이 곡에서 Bizet는 관능적인 불협화음, ostinato형의 반주, double pedal을 사용하여 음악적인 orientalism을 완전하게 이루어냈다. 리듬 뿐만 아니라 음악적 기법, 화성, 멜로디 등 모든 요소를 활용하여 이국적인 분위기를 묘사한 이곡은 그의 melodie 중에서 가장 뛰어난 걸작이다. 이외에도 Bizet는 <Vous ne priez pas>(다시는 기도하지 않네)에서 증2도 음정과 짚시음계를 사용하여 아랍음악의 분위기를 묘사하였고, 다양한 나라의 춤곡 리듬을 차용하여 독특하고 경쾌한 리듬의 이국적인 곡을 만들어내기도 하였다. bolero리듬을 바탕으로 한 스페인식 세레나데인<Ouvre ton coeur>(마음을 열어요)와 이태리 남부 춤 리듬인 tarantella를 적용한 <Tarantelle>(타란텔르)는 독특한 리듬과 장식음의 사용으로 리듬이 강조된 생동감있는 곡들이다. 이러한 곡들에서 Bizet는 멜리스마적인 성악선율선, 같은 음형을 반복하는 반주부, 독특한 리듬의 사용으로 그의 mlodie의 가장 큰 특징인 ‘지방 색채’와 ‘이국적인 취향’을 유연하게 표현하였다. ; Georges Bizet(1838-1875) is a arepresentative composer of the 19th century in France. He succeeded in creating a new genre, French public opera by forming realistic and practical sympathetic zone with opera<Carmen> and he used exotic emotion more uniquely, which he was alway pursuing. Bizet is known as a great dramatic music composer, but he also composed attractive and originalistic songs. With Berlioz, Gounod, he workied at the time French melodie was developing as an independent genre after mid 19th century. His melodie is divided into the one following the path of very simple and emotional Gounod and the other with exotic taste by local color espression. Expacially exotic taste songs draw our attention among Bizet s melodies. His most well-known melodie, <Adieux de l htesse arabe> is a song of Arabic woman saying goodbye to white traveler, and it has solid dramatic composition based on Hugo s poem as Iyrics. By using voluptuous dissonances, ostinato bass and double pedal, Bizet made perfect musical orientalism possible. Describing exotic mood with many components such as musical technique, harmony, melody as well as rhythm, this piece is the greatest among his melodies. Besides, Bizet described mood of Arab music by using the augmented 2nd interval and Hungarian minor scale in his melodie <Vous ne priez pas>. He made exotic song with various and light rhythm by borrowing folk dance rhythm of diverse countries. <Ouvre ton coeur>, serenade espanole at the basis of bolero rhythm and <Tarantelle> applied dance rhythm of the southern Italy are vividly emphasized rhythm by using special rhythm and ornaments. In these songs, Bizet smoothly express "local color" and "exotic taste" by using melismatic passage, ostinato bass, and unique rhythm.
