Abstract

Arnold Schoenberg(1874-1951)의 Three Songs for Low Voice and Piano, Op.48(1933)은 성악작품에서 12음 기법의 가능성을 보여준 곡이다. 제 2곡 Tot는 시의 구조와 악곡의 진행에 따라 AA 의 2구분(section)으로 나뉘어 지며, 각 구분은 2개의 소구분(subsection)으로 구분된다. 4개의 소구분은 시의 대칭적 구조에 따라 역행대칭구조, 역행캐논적 구조를 지녀 가사의 대조적 어구를 부각시키며, 중요 가사에 긴 리듬을 부여함으로서 시적 표현성을 높였다. 각 구분의 역행대칭구조는 원형(Pto)과 역행형(Rto)의 두 집합의 분절이 반복적으로 등장함으로서 형성되며, 이로서 12음 기법의 체계를 성공적으로 작품성과 연관시켰다. 음열의 진행은 4음(tetrachord) 구조를 중심으로 옥타브 상등에 의한 전회, 성부교차, 이도반복을 통해 분절의 반복을 이루며, 이로서 음역의 확장과 소리의 변화를 추구한다. 12음 기법의 구조적 체계를 시적 표현성과 결합시킨 이 곡은 이후 많은 성악작품의 지표가 되고 있다. ; Arnold Schoenberg(1874-1951) s Three Songs for Low Voice and Piano, Op.48(1933) is the work which shows the possibility of twelve-tone technique in vocal music. According to the structure of the text and the progression of the musical piece, the second song Tot is devided into 2 sections and each section has 2 subsections. According to the symmetrical structure of the poem, four subsections have retrograde symmetrical structure and crab canonic structure, so highlight the antithetic phrases of the text, and by giving significant words long phonetic values, improve their lyric expression. The symmetrical structure of each subsection is shaped through the repeated appearance of a segmentation of prime(Pto) and retrograde(Rto), as a result of this it connected the system of twelve-tone technique with artistic character. Centering around a tetrachordal structure, the progression of a set is accomplished through inversion by octave equivalence, stimmtaush, and transposition repetition, by this, the extension of register and variety of sound is accomplished. This work combining the structural system of twelve-tone technique with lyric expression character is an model of twentieth century vocal work.
