경제윤리교육에 관한 연구 : 고등학생의 경제윤리의식을 중심으로

Abstract

우리나라는 산업화가 진행되는 과정에서 경제성장이 가장 중요한 국가적 과제로 등장하면서 사회 구성원들의 윤리와 가치관이 도외시되어 많은 사회적 문제를 낳았고 오늘날과 같은 경제위기를 맞게 되었다. 이와 같은 문제 해결을 위하여 미래의 경제주체인 청소년들에게 장차 건전하고 합리적인 소비자, 생산자, 그리고 민주시민으로서 맡은 바 역할을 충실히 수행할 준비를 갖추도록 학교 교육이 특히 강화되어야 할 것이다. 특히 학생들의 바람직한 경제적 가치관 형성을 위하여 의식적인 측면의 교육이 중요하게 다뤄져야 하며, 사회과 교육의 경제교육에서는 경제윤리교육이 더욱 필요하게 되었다. 이 글은 학교에서 실시되는 경제윤리교육의 실효성을 알기 위하여 고등학생의 경제윤리의식, 경제윤리의 중요성에 관한 인식, 경제윤리교육의 실천 가능성을 연구·조사하였다. 먼저 여러 문헌과 선행연구의 결과를 통하여 바람직한 경제윤리의 덕목을 살펴보고, 이러한 경제윤리의 내용들이 고등학교의 교육과정에 어떻게 구성되어 있는지를 고찰하였다. 그리고 실제로 고등학생들의 경제윤리의식에 관하여 조사하였는데 이때 성별·학년별·가정 환경적인 요인에 따라 어떻게 다르게 나타나는가를 분석하였다. 또한 고등학생들이 실제생활에서 얼마나 경제윤리를 중요하게 인식하고 있으며, 그리고 학교 교육을 통하여 가치적인 교육이 실시된다면 실천 가능성은 있는지를 조사·분석하였다. 그 결과 전체적으로 고등학생의 경제윤리의식은 높았으며 경제윤리 덕목을 절약의식, 창조의식, 직업의식, 근면의식, 공동체의식으로 구분 지었을 때 가장 높은 점수 분포를 보인 것은 근면의식이었고, 가장 낮은 점수 분포를 나타낸 것은 공동체의식이었다. 이것은 오늘날 청소년들의 개인적이고 이기적인 성향이 나타난 결과라고 볼 수 있다. 그리고 여학생이 남학생에 비하여 전반적으로 경제윤리의식이 높으며, 학년에 따라서는 저학년인 고등학교 1학년 학생들이 가장 바람직한 경제윤리의식을 가진 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 가정의 환경적인 요인들과 고등학생의 경제윤리의식과는 의미 있는 분석 결과가 나오지 못하였다. 또한 실생활에서 학생들은 경제윤리의 중요성을 높이 인식하고 있지만 반면에 학교의 경제교육에 대한 기대는 낮게 나타나 현재의 경제교육 문제를 지적하고 있다. 따라서 민주시민으로서 사회 생활을 준비하고 있는 고등학생들에게 보다 바람직한 경제윤리를 심어주기 위하여 학교교육이 더욱 확대·강화되어야 할 것이며, 이러한 교육활동이 한 나라의 경제발전에도 기여할 수 있을 것이라 기대한다. ; In Korea the economic growth was considered as the most important national value during the process of industrialization and development. And the importance of social morality and social values was neglected. So, the deficiency of the economic ethnical consciousness caused many social problems and is regarded as one of the major sources of the economic crisis in Korea these days. The principal objective of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the curriculum of highschool in economic ethnics and economic sense of value. First, various materials and preceding studies were referred to. Second, the average level of economic ethnical consciousness, the recognition of its importance, and the practical possibility were investigated. Third, the effects of the sex, the grade, and the family environment on the economic ethnics of the highschool students were analyzed. Finally, the effectiveness of the school education on practicing what they had been educated was tested. For this study a questionnaire was distributed to some highschool students, and the number of observation is 600. The collected questionnaire were analyzed on the basis of the relation between the independent variables(sex, grade, family environment) and the dependent variables(economic ethnical consciousness). Family environment variable was composed with social economic status and religion. And economic status was subdivided into father s education, father s occupation and family income. Dependent variable, economic ethnical consciousness, was subdivided into the ethnical consciousness of economy, creation, labor, diligence, and social community. SPSS was used for all statistical analysis of this study. The results of this study is as follows. First, the average level of economic ethnical consciousness of the Korean highschool students is high. Especially the consciousness of economy is highest, and that of social community is lowest. This means the individual and selfish inclination of students has been increasing these days. Second, girl students have more desirable economic ethnical consciousness than boy students. Third, students in lower grade have higher economic ethnical consciousness than those in higher grade. Fourth, the factors of family environment don t effect that much on the economic ethnical consciousness of the highschool students. This means that the outside environment is becoming more important than the family environment. Finally, students are recognizing the importance of the economic ethnics, but they don t think that the method and system of the current school education is important to improve their economic ethnical consciousness. This implies the problems of the current education method on the economic ethnics.
