I. Albeniz의 [Iberia]중 1, 2권에 관한 연구

Abstract

This thesis is in an attempt to study Issac Albeniz s Piano Suite 「Iberia」vol. Ⅰ,Ⅱ. In this paper, one analyses the national musical expressions and features which 「Iberia」vol.Ⅰ,Ⅱ has. One may hope that this will provide deeper understanding towards the intentions of I. Albeniz and his masterpiece, 「Iberia」, so many pianists can be received benefits to study 「Iberia」vol. Ⅰ,Ⅱ. During 19th century in Spain, some musicians who were affected the Russian national music as well as opposed to the French music began to compose national style musical works. I. Albeniz is one of the Spanish national musician and 「Iberia」 is the greatest piano suite, which are composed of 4 books and subject to Spanish style. I. Albeniz is one of the Spanish nationalist composer. 「Iberia」 is picturesque description of Spanish scenes and landscapes mostly centered around Andalusia. Each of these pieces utilizes Spanish dance rhythms and folk song. BookⅠ of 「Iberia」 is consisted of Evocacion, El Puerto, and Fete-Dieu a Seville. It is quoted Andalusian folk dance, rhythms, such as fandango, polo, bulerias, and seguiriaya gitana. Fete-Dieu a Seville, the third work of BookⅠ, is used folk song s melody which is derived from La Tallala . BookⅡ of 「Iberia」 is constituted Rondena, Almeria, Triana. It is also borrowed from dance rhythms such as rondena, tarantas, and paso-doble. The works of BookⅡ are applied to folk song s melody which is derived from jota and malaguena-rondena. 「Iberia」 vol.Ⅰ,Ⅱ also employ characteristic dance rhythms which alternate with a lyrical vocal refrain, or copla, and are often combined contrapuntally with the copla toward the end of the movement. I. Albeniz applied such a percussion instrumental sound as guitar, casternets, tamburine which have been used Spanish folk music for the mood of national musical expression. I. Albeniz s 「Iberia」 for the piano also owe a debt to French Impressionism (whole-tone passages, long pedal tones, and hamonic planing of augmented triad). But non-spanish elements in 「Iberia」 vol.Ⅰ,Ⅱ are one of the resources for making the Spanish music to be understood better, are useful sub-elements for expressing spanish scene and mood. ; 본 논문은 스페인의 대표적인 민족주의 작곡가인 이삭 알베니스(Issac Albeniz : 1860-1909)의 피아노 모음곡 「이베리아(Iberia)」(1905-1908)중 제 1권과 제 2권에 관하여 연구한 논문이다. 이 연구는 「이베리아」1, 2권에 나타난 민족적 어법의 쓰임과 특성에 관한 분석을 통하여 작곡가와 작품에 대한 이해를 돕고, 이들 작품을 연주함에 있어서 도움을 주기 위한 것에 목적을 두고 있다. 알베니스가 음악활동을 했던 당시의 스페인에서는 독일과 프랑스 음악에 대한 반발과 러시아 국민주의 음악의 영향으로 민족주의 음악이 일어났다. 그의 대표작인 「이베리아」는 이와같은 음악적인 흐름을 반영한 민족주의 음악 양식에 속하는 작품으로 전 4권으로 구성된 대작이다. 「이베리아」1, 2권에는 스페인 고유의 민속 음악이 각 곡마다 리듬, 선율, 화성의 모든 면에서 적용되어, 각각의 독특한 분위기를 잘 형상화 하고 있다. 곡 중 리듬적인 측면에서 적용된 민속적인 소재는 다음과 같다. 제 1권에는 판당고(fandango), 폴로(polo), 불레리아스(bulerias), 세귀리야 기타나(seguiriya gitana), 등의 민속 춤곡 리듬이 적용되고 있으며, 제 2권에는 론데냐(rondena), 타란타(tarantas), 파소-두블(paso-doble)의 민속 춤곡 리듬이 나타난다. 선율상에서 사용된 민속적 소재는 제 1권의 3곡에서 나타난 ‘라 탈라라(La Tallala)’라는 민요 선율과 제 2권의 1곡에서 나타난 말라게냐-론데냐(malaguena-rondena), 2곡의 호타(jota) 선율이 발견된다. 화성적 측면에서의 민속 음악적인 특징은 민속 춤곡에 사용된 반주 악기인 기타와 캐스터넷츠, 탬버린 등의 타악기 음향 묘사에 의해 만들어지는 연속적인 불협화음의 진행을 꼽을 수 있다. 「이베리아」1, 2권에 나타난 이와 같은 민속 음악적인 소재들은 서유럽 음악의 요소들과 결합되어, 알베니스의 독창적인 음악 세계를 만들어 내고 있다. 특히 프랑스 인상주의적 요소인 긴 페달 포인트의 사용과, 4, 5도의 병행진행, 증 3화음에 의한 화성적 진행, 온음음계와 고대 선법에 의한 패시지(passage)가 두드러지게 나타난다. 여기에 덧붙여 전통 독일 음악의 형식인 소나타 형식 원리의 요소가 자유로운 방식으로 적용되고 있다. 그러나 곡 중에서 나타난 이러한 스페인 외(外)적인 요소들은 스페인 민속 음악의 다양한 전개를 위한 방법 중 하나로서 사용되고 있으며, 스페인의 정취와 풍경 분위기를 표현함에 있어서 효과적인 보조 요소로 작용하고 있다.
