Naji Hakim의 [sinfonia: in honore sancti ioannis baptistae]에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 Naji Hakim (b.1955- )의 SINFONIA: in honore Sancti Ionnias Baptistae(성 세례 요한을 위한 신포니아)의 작품분석을 통해 20세기의 프랑스 오르간 음악기법과 그의 음악적 특징을 고찰하여, 아직 잘 알려지지 않은 작곡가겸 오르가니스트인 Naji Hakim에 대해 알리고 그의 음악을 이해하는데 목적이 있다. Naji Hakim은 Jean Langlais (1907-1991)의 제자로 현재 생존하는 레바논 출신의 작곡가겸 오르가니스트이다. 프랑스 파리를 중심으로 음악활동을 하고 있는 그는 20세기 후반의 프랑스 오르간음악을 이끌어 나가는 연주자로 급부상하고 있다. 본 논문에서 분석한 SINFONIA는 전체 3악장으로 구성되어 있으며, 20세기 프랑스 오르간 음악의 한 양상인 그레고리안 성가를 기초로 작곡된 작품이다. 제1악장은 “Ut queant laxis”의 선율을 가지고 변주곡 형태로 작곡되었으며, 제2악장은 바르 형식(Bar form)으로 구성되었고 역시 그레고리안 챤트인 “Basque Agnus”를 주제선율로 한다. 제3악장은 제2악장과 같은 선율의 AA BA의 형식으로 구성되어 있다. 이 곡의 악곡분석 결과 Hakim의 작곡기법은 20세기 프랑스 오르간 음악의 다섯가지 작곡형태를 모두 포함하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 첫째, pp에서부터 fff까지의 셈여림을 모두 표현할 수 있도록 지정해 놓은 그의 레지스트레이션은 오르간을 작은 오케스트라로 간주하고 있음을 보여준다. 둘째, 그레고리안 성가를 이용하여 변형하는 형태는 매우 확연히 들어나는 사실로서, Sinfonia 전체에서 그레고리안 성가로 모든 주제선율을 사용했음을 알 수 있다. 셋째로 표제음악의 영향은 이 곡의 부제를 통해 확인할 수 있다. 넷째로 인상주의적인 성격은 제3악장의 B부분에서 나타났다. 작곡가 자신이 “The Love of Spirit”이라고 지명해 놓은 이 부분은 레지스트레이션과 색채적인 반주 패턴, 코드진행등에서 인상주의적인 성격을 강하게 보인다. 또한, 빈번한 증4도의 진행, 단2도 대사, 불협화음의 사용, 밀집화음(tone-cluster), 글리산도의 사용등에서 20세기적인 작곡기법을 보인다. ; This study is an analysis of SINFONIA : in honore Sancti Ionnias Baptistae by Naji Hakim( b.1955- ).The purpose of it is to study French organ music techniques and the characteristics of his music, to write about Naji Hakim, who is an unknown composer and organist and to understand his music. Naji Hakim, was the pupil of Jean Langlais( 1907-1991 ), is a Lebanese and still alive, and is a composer and organist. He is in full activity in Paris, France. And he is a front performer leading the French organ music of the late 20th century. The SINFONIA this study analyzes consists of three movements. It is based on Gregorian chant, one of the 20th century French music styles. The first movement is composed of a musical variation form with Ut queant laxis in the melody. The second is composed in Bar form with the main melody Basque Agnus of Gregorian chant. And the last movement has the same melody as the second one and is in AA BA form. The result of this analysis shows these five characteristics of French organ music of the 20th century mentioned above are included in this work. First, the registration he indicated to express the dynamics from pp to fff shows that he considered the organ as a small orchestra. Second, he used Gregorian chant as the thematic melody, applying and paraphrasing it. Third, the subtitle tells the influence of Program music. Fourth, Impressionism can be found in part B in the third movement. "The love of Spirit", titled by the composer, shows strong Impressionism in registration, coloristic accompanying pattern, and chord progressions. Fifth, the progress of frequent augmented fourth intervals, cross-relationship of minor second, the use of dissonant chords, tone-clusters, and the use of glissando shows 20th century composition techniques.
