여조수록류의 수필적 성격에 대한 연구

Abstract

韓國隨筆의 淵源은 麗朝의 著籍에서 찾아야 할 것이다. 따라서 麗朝의 隨錄類라 일컬어지는 破閑集, 白雲小說, 補閑集, 역翁稗說을 中心으로 다루었다. 그런데 三國史記에는 各種의 文學現象이 보이는 바 特히 本紀와 列傳에서 隨筆의 淵源을 본다. 黃鳥歌에 얽힌 歌話 等의 詩歌由來談에서도 또 東城王條에서 哀戀한 心情談과 차분한 論說에 接하게 된다. 三國遺事에서도 成長한 隨筆을 豊盛하게 보여준다. 破閑集等 所謂 麗朝 隨錄類는 各各 內容, 體制, 執筆態度, 作家意識을 다루었다. 破閑集은 一種의 詩連關談으로서 內容이 多樣하며 體制가 雜然하고 作家는 自意的인 태도로 집필하였으며 뚜렷한 歷史意識을 지니고 있다. 歷史意識을 바탕으로해서 自意로 詩가 中心이 된 多彩로운 內容이 漫然하게 記述된 破閑集을 우리나라 最初의 隨筆集으로 보았다. 白雲小說은 31篇의 詩談이다. 破閑集과 類似한 傾向을 띄고 있어서 少量의 篇數이지만 多岐한 詩話로 보인다. 體系的이 아닌 作品配置와 拘束받지 않는 執筆態度 等은 亦是 隨筆로 보여진다. 補閑集은 笑談 10篇이 새로 보인다. 가장 量이 많으며 大體로 詩連關談으로서 內容이 豊富하고 多彩롭다. 規範에 맞춘 記述이 아니기 때문에 體制는 雜然한 便이다. 讀者를 意識하지 않는 듯한 가벼운 筆致와 또 隨筆에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 連想形의 敍述과 作品들의 散漫한 配置等은 如何한 拘碍도 받지 않는 自由로운 姿勢에서 執筆된 것으로 보여 隨筆로 보았다. 破閑集을 續補하기 위한 것이므로 歷史意識의 産物임은 無論이다. 역翁稗說은 笑談이 더 늘어서 17篇이다. 詩連關談을 벗어났으며 多岐多樣한 內容을 지닌다. 見聞, 體驗, 所感 爲主의 文章으로 부드러운 文體와 豊富한 語彙, 그리고 結論을 提示하여 讀者를 說得하려는 어떤 意圖도 보이지 않는 悠然한 姿勢 等으로 해서 隨筆이라고 보았다. 그런데 이 4卷의 所謂 麗朝隨錄類의 文學的인 根據는 三國史記에서 찾을 수 있으므로 韓國隨筆의 淵源은 三國史記에서 發源된 것이라고 하겠다. 거기에 中國詩話의 强力한 刺戟을 받아서 破閑集이 나왔고 이어서 白雲小說, 補閑集, 역翁稗說 等이 後續하게 된 것으로 보인다. 따라서 麗朝隨筆은 大體로 詩話中心이지만 麗末에는 차츰 變化된 것으로 詩話中心을 벗어나는 것이라 하겠다. 그러므로 韓國隨筆은 詩話로서 出發하였다고 볼 수 있겠다. ; The genius of Korean essay as a literary genre may be detected in various books of Koryu dynasty. In this paper, I have included the essay-type writing of Koryu dynasty such as Pahanjib, Paekunsosul, Bohanjib, Nakongbisul setting boundary of my research. And now various literary phenomena are shown in Samkuksaki especially the trace of essay is dominant in the main part of history and the narrative of persons. One finds the norm of pathetic moving narration in the tracing story of song-narrative, Hwangjoka. On the other hand we find calmly editorial type of writing in Dongsungwang. Samkukyusa also shows many of matured essays. What we call the essay-type writings of Koryu dynasty such as Pahanjib show distinct trace of today’s essay in their contents, style, and the manner. Pahanjib is a collection of stories related to various poems. It has diverse contents and style showing the distinct writing purpose. Pahanjib written on the basis of historical sense with the poem centers various contents might be called the first collection of essays in Korea. Paekunsosul consists of thirty-one poetic narrations. It has similar tendency with Pahanjib. It has comparatively small numbers of narration. With no systematic disposition of narration and free writing manner, it also might be regarded as essay. Bohanjib shows new ten humorous stories. It is the most bulky volume consists of poem-related stories abundant in its contents and variety. The light touch in the writing manner, the associative description, and the loose arrangement of narration prove the free writing manner, which is the essential trait in essay writing. It was written to supplement Pahanjib and of course the product of historical sense. Nakongbisul enlarges the number of humorous stories to seventeen narrations. It has most diverse contents consist of sightseeing, personal experience, and emotional expression. It has a soft style and abundant vocabulary with no definite conclusion intended to persuade the reader. In this respect, Nakongbisul is also regarded as essay. These four volumes what we call the essay-type writing has their literary genesis in Samkuksaki. Therefore, I came to the conclusion that the origin of the contemporary Korean essay is traced back in Samkuksaki. In addition to it the strong stimulus of Chinese poetic narratives caused the production of Pahanjib and then the other three volumes followed. The contents of essays in Koryu dynasty consists of mostly poetic narrations. However, the contents were much more variegated in the latter part of the dynasty. We cannot disregarded the fact that Korean essay began with the poetic narratives.
