자연을 통한 내적 공간표현

Abstract

인간은 대자연의 무한한 변화와 조화 속에서 살아가고 있으며, 자연이 주는 아름다움과 가능성을 관심과 표현의 대상으로 삼고 그 자연 안에서 끊임없이 지혜를 배워왔다. 또한 원초적이고 때묻지 않은 순수한 의식의 상태로 이끌어주는 자연공간은 마음의 쉼을 제공해주는 휴식 같은 존재이다. 본인은 이러한 자연공간 안에서 편안함을 느끼고 그 속에서 동화되기도 하며 존재의 의미에 대해 생각하기도 한다. 딱 트여진 넓은 하늘과 물의 생명력이 춤추듯이 넘실거리는 바다라는 두 공간이 마주하고 있는 모습을 바라보고 있으면 본인은 무한한 공간으로 빠져든다. 그 안에서의 생명력은 거칠기도 하고 때로는 잔잔하면서 고요한 모습을 보인다. 자연공간은 같은 자리에서 변화무쌍한 모습을 하면서 한시도 동일한 모습을 보여주지 않는 무한 생명력이 느껴진다. 우리 삶을 자연 공간 안에서의 모습을 통해 발견 할 수 있으며 인간과 자연의 순환 고리는 그것을 보면서 느끼는 사람들의 마음속에 들어있다고 느낀다. 본인에게 있어 자연의 미세한 변화를 느끼는 순간에 체험되어지는 신비는 삶의 숨겨진 의미와 초월적이고 근원적인 힘을 깨닫게 하는 의식이 열려지는 공간이다. 드넓은 공간 안에 한 작은 인간으로 서 있다는 느낌은 세상을 바라보는 눈에 대한 깊이와 하나의 존재로서의 겸허를 갖게 한다. 자연의 무한한 공간을 유영하며 작은 자아를 버리고 그 안에서 다시 우주와 더불어 거대한 자연이 된다. 고요한 생명력의 세계와의 만남은 내 자신으로 들어가는 통로가 되며 명상적 자기성찰의 공간을 형성한다. 비가시적 세계의 생명력을 자연 공간이라는 매체를 통하여 평면적 화면에 내적공간으로 확장해 보았다. 본인은 논문을 통하여 자연 공간의 고요한 가운데 변화하는 기운을 내면세계로 시각화하고 자연공간에 대한 근원에 대한 통찰을 함으로서, 현대사회 속에서의 삶과 예술, 자연과 인간, 물질과 정신의 조화를 추구하는 명상적 세계를 찾아보았다. 자연을 영원한 존재가치로 생각하며 자연의 섭리를 관조하고 따르는 삶을 이상적 가치로 여기는 동양의 자연주의 사상을 토대로 삼고, ‘기(氣)’로써 이루어지는 자연을 최고의 가치로 여기는 노장사상의 도(道)와 무(無)의 정신을 통하여 자연과 정신성의 관계를 찾아보았다. 또한 삶의 방식에 따라 다르게 나타나는 다양한 자연의 이미지를 동양과 서양의 자연관에서 찾아보고, 회화에서 나타나는 공간 표현의 변천과 현대적인 의미를 찾아 공간의 내면적 표현방식을 살펴봄으로서 이에 입각한 작업이 어떻게 수행되어 왔으며 또한 이러한 작업이 현대미술의 복잡한 경향들 속에서 어떤 위치와 의미를 지니고 있는지 알아보고자 하였다. 방법적 연구에서는 공간의 확장과 무한함을 표현하기 위한 기법으로 한지의 드로잉적 꼴라쥬에서 나타나는 여백과 곡선, 직선, 면의 기호들의 조형성을 찾아보고 순수 공간 안의 침착하고 담담한 조용한 울림을 모노톤의 색을 통해 연구한다. 바다와 하늘 두 자연 공간의 만남을 접하게 되면 현실에서의 내 자신의 덧없는 욕망과 작은 마음을 가졌던 것을 그 무한공간에 내던지고 비워냄으로써 그 자연 안에서 많은 배움을 가지게 된다. 그리고 인간의 삶이 인위적인 삶이 아닌 명상하며 기도하며 자연의 스스로 그러한 모습처럼 삶의 공간과 더불어 자연스럽게 흘러가는 순환의 공간의 장이 되는 가치를 확인하고자 한다. 각박하고 인공적인 도시생활에서의 물질에 익숙한 마음을 떨칠 수 있는 자연의 아름다움과 신비로운 기가 충만한 생명공간을 표현하고자 하였고 본인은 본 논문을 토대로 앞으로의 작업과정에 대한 더욱 발전적인 모색과정을 가질 것이다.;Man who lives in infinite changes and harmony of great nature has expressed with concern the beauty and possibility given by it and continued to learn wisdom in it. Also, natural space leading us to the state of primary, unstained and pure consciousness provides us with mental rest. In the space I feel comfortable, am assimilated with it and think of the meaning of existence. I am drawn into infinite space if I look at the two facing space of wide open sky and swelling sea as if the vitality of water danced. The vitality in it is rough sometimes calm and silent. I feel natural space have infinite vitality by which it is changing at one place and does not show sameness even for a moment. Human life can be found through the shape in it and the cyclic link between man and nature is felt to be in the mind of people seeing and feeling it. Mystery experienced at the moment when I feel minute changes in nature is the space that awakens the meanings hidden in life and transcendent and fundamental force. Standing as one small man in vast space makes me have the deep eyes for the world and humble myself as one existence. I walk in natural infinite space, remove my small self, and become great nature with the universe again in it. Meeting the world of silent vitality becomes a passage to myself and forms the space of meditative self-examination. I have expanded the vitality of the invisible world as internal space in a planar canvas through the medium of natural space. Through the thesis I have sought the meditative world where the harmonies are pursued between life and art, between nature and man, and between material and spirit in modern society by visualizing as the inner world the vigor changing in the calmness of natural space and discerning the source of the space. Through the way and the spirit of nothingness in Taoist Philosophy which regards nature composed of 'spirit' as the highest value, the relation between nature and spirituality has been found based on Oriental Naturalist Philosophy which thinks of nature as eternal value of existence and which regards as ideal value the life of contemplating and following the providence of nature. I also wanted to seek various images of nature shown differently according to lifestyles in Eastern and Western views of nature, explore a method of expressing space internally by finding the transition and modern meaning of spatial expression shown in painting, and examine how the work based on it has been performed and what position and meaning it has in complex tendencies in modern art. In a methodological aspect, I search the plasticity of the symbols such as space, curved lines, straight lines and planes shown in the drawing collage of Hanji (Korean paper) in the technique for expressing spatial expansion and infiniteness and study through monochrome calm, plain and silent sound in pure space. If I see the two natural space such as sea and sky meet each other, I learn many things in the space by throwing away into the infinite space transient desire and narrow mind that I myself had. And I want to confirm the value in which human life not as artificial one but as meditating, praying one becomes the area of cyclic space flowing naturally with space of life like natural own shape. I wanted to express the natural beauty in which I can remove the mind familiar with material in the hard and artificial urban life and the vital space full of mysterious spirit. I will seek my future working process in a more developmental way based on this thesis.
