밀리터리 룩에 의한 복식 디자인 연구

Abstract

복식은 그 시대의 반영으로서 그 시대의 정신, 사상, 정서 내지는 미적 가치를 표출한다. 복식에 영향을 미치는 요인들 중 전쟁이나 혁명과 같은 큰 사건은 패션을 변화시키는 중요한 촉매 작용을 해왔으며, 그 변화 요소 중에서 군복의 요소가 도입된 밀리터리 룩은 새로운 패션 양상을 가져 왔다. 밀리터리 룩은 군복의 이미지 또는 부분 형식에서 군복의 요소를 응용한 넓은 의미의 군복 스타일이다. 전쟁에 의해서 복식의 새로운 분야가 된 밀리터리 룩은 현대의 세계 유명 디자이너의 컬렉션에 매년 그 형태나 디테일의 요소가 반영되어 재창조 되어왔다. 또 세기말과 새 천년을 맞이하는 1999년 콜렉션에서도 크리스찬 디올, 지방시는 새로운 신소재에 의한 미래 전사 이미지가 보여졌고, 샤넬, 베르사체는 밀리터리 룩에서 볼 수 있는 금속성 장식을 주요 디테일적 표현 방법으로 취했다. 특히 프라다는 색채에 있어서도 군복 색채인 올리버 그린 (Oliver Green), 카키(Khaki)를 주요색으로 사용하는 등 밀리터리적 요소와 이미지는 계속적으로 그 형태를 달리하여 현대의 패션에 반영되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 밀리터리 룩과 군복에 관한 고찰을 통한 디자인적 요소를 문헌과 사진 자료를 통하여 분류, 분석하여 디자인적 특징 중 디테일, 트리밍, 색채별 요소를 현대 복식 양상과 접목 시켜 복식 디자인에 있어서 고부가가치를 갖는 조형적 실용 복식으로 재창조 하고자 한다. 이를 위한 이론적 배경으로는 밀리터리 룩에 관한 고찰로 제 1·2차 세계대전 전후로 개념과 성립 배경을 문헌과 사진자료를 통하여 제시하였고, 밀리터리 룩의 특징 및 유형 그리고 디자인적 특징을 밀리터리 룩의 실례인 사진 자료 중심으로 분류, 분석하였다. 또, 군복에 관한 고찰로 군복의 특징 및 유형을 비교, 고찰하여 군복의 장식적 특징을 디테일, 트리밍, 색채별 요소로 분석하여 실용 조형 작품 8점을 제작하였다. 연구 과정별로 요약하면 다음과 같다. ◆제1장 연구목적과 방법을 체계화하였고, 연구 내용을 한정하였다. ◆제2장 본 연구의 이론적 배경으로 밀리터리 룩의 개념과 성립, 일반적 특징과 디자인적 특성을 살펴보았다. ◆제3장 군복에 관한 고찰로 군복의 특징, 유형을 알아보고 그 장식적 특징을 형태적, 기법적, 색채적으로 분류, 분석하였다. ◆제4장 본 연구의 이론적 배경과 밀리터리 룩, 군복의 분류, 분석의 결과를 토대로 작품을 제작하였다. ◆제5장 본 연구를 통해 얻은 결론을 서술하였다. 군복에 나타난 형태와 기법에 의한 장식적 요소를 현대에 나타난 양상으로 분류, 분석하여 얻은 결과를 디자인 요소로 하여 작품에 표현한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 군복에 나타난 디테일적 특징인 직선형의 슬립한 실루엣에 테일러드 칼라(Tailored Collar), 스텐 칼라(Soutien Collar), 언 발란스 테일러드 칼라(Unbalance Tailored Collar)를 변형 응용하여 조형적인 다양한 칼라 형태를 표현 할 수 있었다. 2. 장식적 특징 중 디테일적 측면에서 아웃 포켓과 아코디언 포켓 활용과 포켓 뚜껑의 외곽선인 직·곡선의 선적 형태 요소 활용, 사선형 벨트의 도입, 베찌와 엠블럼의 장식적 요소 도입에 의한 새로운 디자인 발상을 가능케 했다. 3. 장식적 특징 중 군복의 주요 장식 기법, 즉 트리밍(Triming)기법, 벨트 구멍을 이용한 기법, 정장식 기법, 브레이딩 기법 등을 응용하여 디자인에 있어서 독특한 장식요소로 활용 발전시켜 새로운 부가 가치 가능성을 발견 가능케 하였다. 4. 장식적 특징 중 색상 면에서 군복에 나타나는 빨강색(Red), 갈색 (Brown), 카키색(Khaki), 검정색(Black) 계열을 주요색으로 밀리터리 룩의 이미지를 도입하였으며 포인트 색(Point Color)으로 선명한 핑크 색(Pink), 녹색(Green), 회색(Grey), 흰색(white) 을 사용하여 현대적이고 세련된 새로운 이미지의 밀리터리 룩의 표현을 가능케 하였다.;Since fashion is the reflection of the age which it exists in, it manifests the spirit, thoughts, emotion, or aesthetic value of the age. The serious occurrences such as wars or revolutions, which are one of the most important factors that effects on fashion, are catalyzers changing fashion. And Military Look with military uniforms' elements has been took the changes of fashion and makes new fashion styles. Military Look is a style of military wears in a wide meaning and applies military uniforms' elements from the images or details of the uniforms. Military look which become a new part of fashion has been created with silhouettes and details from military uniforms by many famous fashion designers. In the '99 Collection, Christian Dior and Givenchy showed the images of future soldiers with new technical materials, and Chanel and Versace selected metallic ornaments as the detail expressions of Military Look. Especially, Prada used general colors of military uniforms, such as Olive Green, Khaki, for the main colors of its collection. As it shows, the elements and images of military uniforms are continuously reflected onto fashion in every different form. The purpose of this study is recreating formative, practical costumes with high added value by grafting the ornamental characteristics -formative, technically detail, or color elements- of Military Look into the modern fashion styles after classifying and analyzing the design factors studied from documents and pictures of Military Look and military uniforms. For this study, the concept and its origination of Military Look were analyzed from documents and pictures about World War I · II. The characteristics and types of Military Look and its design characters are grouped and analyzed from the relative pictures. Furthermore, after those studies of military uniforms, 8 formative practical costume-works were made using the ornamental characters such as formative, technical, and color factors. The process of this study is outlined below. ◆ CHAPTER 1 The object and methode of this study is systemized and the limits are set. ◆ CHAPTER 2 For theoretical background, the concept, historical background, and general design characters are looked over. ◆ CHAPTER 3 As the study of military uniforms, its characteristics and types are looked over, and the ornamental characters are classified and analyzed in the ways of formative, technical, and color elements. ◆ CHAPTER 4 Outfits are designed based on the conclusions drawn from the theoretical background and analysis of Military Look and military uniforms. ◆ CHAPTER 5 The conclusions of the study are drawn. Expressing the design concept drawn from study and analysis of the ornamental elements in forms and details from military uniforms. 1. Creative form can be designed by applying the tailored collar, soutien collar, and unbalanced tailored collar onto the straight and slim silhouette of military uniforms. 2. As for ornamental characters, details were newly designed by applying out pockets and accordion pockets, straight or curved line of pockets' flaps, diagonal belts, and forms of badges and emblems. 3. As for details, trimming, using belt holes, and studding made new designs possible. 4. Red, Brown, Khaki, and Black was used as basic material colors and they gave a Military Look's image to design. Furthermore, vivid Pink, Green, Grev. and White created new, modern, and sophisticated military image.
