Abstract
The analysis results of Cello Sonata in g minor, Op.65 of F. Chopin are as follows. Cello Sonata of Chopin is his only Cello Sonata and at the same time, his final Sonata. Its theme is not solemn as much as his many Sonata works. But rhythm, lyrical melody, abundant tone and sound, unique harmony shown in Piano part embrace whole music. So the Sonata shows his various musical characteristics from Classic music through Romanticism to beginning of Impressionism music. Like his Piano Sonata works, Piano part is wholly very elaborate. So it would be very hard to maintain balance with Cello but in Largo, the third movement, harmony of Piano and Cello represents the height of very beautiful melody. And as Cello Sonata of Chopin is highly free from Sonata type of Classical era, the Cello Sonata is expressed with characteristics which are near Romanticism suite rather than characteristics of typical Sonata - Romanticism suite variably expressed unique emotion without attached to form by expanded sound and development of voice range. The characteristics of his Sonata are as follows. First, very melodious melody is used in the first theme of the first movement, B part of the second movement, and theme melody of the third movement. Second, emotion is treated lyrically using figure of broken chord. Especially, the Sonata is much used in Piano part as melodious accompaniment figure. So flow of music becomes more soft. Third, modulation through chromatic transient chord which was matrix of development in Romanticism music is much used. Fourth, in the whole music, imitation technique is expressed in very varied forms of melody and rhythm. Cello Sonata of Chopin does not have structure of typical Sonata in aspect of form like Classic Sonata. But as he acted in the period of early Romanticism, he pioneered creativity of the arts and composed Sonata from free viewpoint fit to new era. The characteristics in form of his Sonata are as follows. First, the music has poor form in development and reproduction of theme. This can be known from omission of the first theme and the second theme in development part and reproduction part of Sonata shown in the first movement respectively. Second, Scherzo which is included to the third movement in existing Sonata appears in the second movement. Third, sorrow melody shown in the third movement is continuously repeated without any form. Thus, Cello Sonata g minor, Op65 of F.Chopin shows overall characteristics shown in his Piano Sonata. Although development of theme lacks something in the aspect of form, variety in the every aspects besides this and development technique of harmony added new aspect to Romanticism Sonata.;Frederic Chopin은 낭만시대 Piano 음악의 대표자로 알려져 있다. 마지막으로 제4악장에는 A-B-A′-B′-A″ 와 Coda Form으로 이루어져 있다.
