Dmitri Shostakovich의 Sonata for Viola and Piano Op.147 에 대한 분석 연구

Abstract

Dmitri Shostakovich (1906-1975) is a one of the most celebrated 20th century Russian composers. His musical works are done in the communist Soviet Union while many artists escaped to the west and America. He attempted new musical language, composition technique, and musical features after he was influenced by Prokofiev, Stravinsky, and Mahler. Musical works of Shostakovich has been considered as valuable sources of studying of 20th century classic music. The Sonata for Violin and Piano op.147 is the last work of Dmitri Shostakovich. This piece represents his music world very well. This sonata shows not only his musical features but also shows his musical expression related to his late life. In addition, vibrant harmony and emotional melody makes this music very strong. This sonata has three movements in the form of Sonata, Ternary, and Rondo. He experimented various interesting methods in this music. For example, his experiment includes quoting the phrase from his own opera and Beethoven’s piano sonata ‘moonlight’ as well using twelve tone technique. Using skip motion by fourth or fifth interval is also apparent throughout the piece. Also, major motives are imitated with counterpoint components many times.;본 논문은 드미트리 쇼스타코비치 (Dmitri Shostakovich 1906-1975)의 마지막 작품인 <Sonata for Viola and Piano Op.147> 에 관한 연구이다. 20세기 전반의 프로코피예프 Sergei Prokofiev (1891-1953), 라흐마니노프 Sergei Rachmaninov (1873-1943)와 더불어 러시아의 대표적인 작곡가 중 한 사람인 그는, 평생을 러시아 안에서 국가의 통제 하에 음악활동을 하며 ‘사회주의 리얼리즘’과 ‘신고전주의’를 받아들인 진정한 제 1 세대의 러시아 작곡가로 러시아 음악에 크게 공헌한 인물로 평가받고 있다. Shostakovich 의 유작인 Sonata for Viola and Piano Op.147은 쇼스타코비치의 후기작품에서 볼 수 있는 윤곽이 뚜렷한 테마나 현악기의 울림의 중요성, 긴장감, 갈등 등의 특징이 나타나 있는 동시에 중심음 설정이나 프레이즈 나열, 서정적인 선율이나 색채적인 화성표현이 이 작품에서 볼 수 있는 독특한 특징이다. 1악장은 Sonata 형식, 2악장은 3부분 형식, 3악장은 Rondo 형식으로 구성되어 있고, 3도 구성화음이 아닌 4도, 5도 구성화음이나 춤곡에 기초한 리듬, 자신의 오페라의 한 구절과 베토벤 피아노 소나타의 한 부분을 인용한 것 등이 이 작품에서 보이는 쇼스타코비치의 개성 있는 음악어법이라 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 Shostakovich 의 작품 Sonata for Viola and Piano Op.147 의 분석을 통해 Shostakovich 의 음악적 언어와 그의 다양한 음악세계를 알아보도록 한다.
