무용공연예술의 대중화를 위한 관객개발 방안 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 무용공연예술의 대중화를 위한 관객개발방안을 연구한 논문이다. 본 논문에서는 우리나라의 대표적 국공립무용단체인 국립무용단의 대표레퍼토리작품「춤 춘향」「Soul, 해바라기」「코리아 환타지」의 분석을 중심으로, 무용공연예술의 대중화를 위한 관객개발방안을 연구하였다. 본 연구에서 분석한 무용공연예술의 관객개발 방안은 다음과 같다. 본 연구에서 분석한 연구 내용과 그 결론으로서 무용공연예술의 관객개발 방안에 대하여 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대중화 지향의 측면에서는 무용공연을 관람하도록 관객들에게 접근하는 방식을 다양화해야 한다. 이에 공연장을 주말 도심문화공간으로써 놀이, 문화행사 등의 다양한 계층과 세대를 대상으로 한 프로그램을 개발해야한다. 또한, 체계적인 마케팅 전략을 수립해야 한다. 소셜 미디어 시대에 블로그나 SNS(Social Network Service)를 활용한 홍보 및 서포터즈 활동을 강화하여 공연에 관련된 정보나 이벤트 등을 쉽고 편리하게 접할 수 있도록 하며, 다양한 형태의 할인제도를 시행함으로써 장기적인 유료관객개발에 주력해야 한다. 둘째, 공익성 지향의 측면에서는 잠재적 관객의 확보를 위한 예술교육프로그램을 활성화 시켜야 한다. 관객들 스스로 좋은 작품에 대한 선별능력과 정보획득, 이해능력을 길러 줄 수 있는 교육프로그램을 보강하고, 교과서와 연계한 공연작품을 개발하여 학생들에게 의무교육 속에서 자연적으로 무용공연에 대한 접근의 기회를 확대시키는 프로그램을 시행해야 한다. 또한, 무용공연예술의 저변확대에 기여할 수 있도록 지방 관객개발을 중점으로 하여 문화소외지역에 대한 문화적 욕구를 충족시켜줄 수 있는 프로그램을 개발해야한다. 이에 따라 문화소외계층을 위한 프로그램 내에 우수한 공연을 포함시키고, 그들에게 공연의 무료관람 기회를 제공하는 등의 사업을 시행해야 한다. 셋째, 예술성 지향의 측면에서는 한국적 정서를 극대화한 공연을 제작해야한다. 이에 한국 춤의 전통성을 지키며 체계적인 공연작품을 기획, 제작하는 시스템을 구축하고, 창작과 고정 레퍼토리의 조화를 통한 공연작품의 경쟁력을 강화하는 노력을 해야 할 것이다. 또한, 현대화에 맞는 실험적인 작업을 끊임없이 시도해야 한다. 전통적인 한국 춤만을 고수 하는 것에서 벗어나 다양한 실험적인 작업을 시도함으로써, 한국 춤의 새로운 방향을 제시하는데 주력해야 한다. 이는 신규 작품개발과 함께 프로그램 내에 다양한 기획을 시도함으로써, 한국 전통 춤에 대한 인식을 바로 세우며, 무용공연예술의 새로운 길을 여는데 발전적인 계기가 될 수 있다. 따라서 무용공연예술에 있어 이와 같은 관객의 개발은 대중적 시장을 확보하고 폭넓은 관객층을 형성하기 위해 다양한 방면으로 꾸준히 이뤄져야 한다.;The purpose of this study was to examine ways of audience development for dance performances in an effort to step up the popularization of performing arts of dance. It's specifically meant to analyze three representative performances of the National Theater of Korea, which is a leading national/public dance organization, in an attempt to determine how to actualize audience development to accelerate the popularization of performing arts of dance: "Dance Choonhyang," "Soul, Sunflower," and "Korea Fantasy." The findings of the study on the methods of audience development for performing arts of dance were as follows: First, in terms of pursuit of popularization, it's necessary to approach a potential audience in a diverse way in order to stimulate them to see dance performances. A wide variety of programs geared toward various classes and generations should be prepared such as entertainment and cultural programs. Systematic marketing strategies should be mapped out as well, and publicity and supporters' activities should be strengthened via blogs or SNS(social network service) to make performance information and events more accessible. Besides, various sorts of discount systems should be introduced to lure a paying audience on a long-term basis. Second, in terms of pursuit of the public good, the revitalization of art education programs is requested to lure a potential audience. More educational programs should be prepared to teach an audience to have an eye for dance, improve information acquisition skills and understand dance performances, and dance works should be produced in association with textbooks to bolster the accessibility of students to dance performances during the period of compulsory education. That will make it possible to realize potential audience development. In addition, dance performances should be associated with programs that let an audience to see materials of performing arts of dance. For instance, the sort of programs that give an opportunity to see stage design, video clips or photographs of dance performances to learn how to produce a dance performance in detail should be prepared. To increase the population who view dance performances, another programs should be developed to satisfy the cultural needs of residents in culturally disadvantaged regions to step up audience development in the provinces. To make it happen, programs that target culturally disadvantaged people should include good performances, and those people should be given a chance to view a performance without a fee. Third, in terms of artistry orientation, dance performances that vividly represent unique Korean sentiment should be produced. A new performance system should be set up to give systematic performances to show the traditionality of Korean dance, and a balanced repertory should be prepared by striking a balance between creative and existing works to boost the competitiveness of dance performances. Finally, there should be ceaseless efforts to give an experimental performance in line with the modernization flow of the times. The National Theater of Korea should make variouso experimental attempts to suggest the right direction for Korean dance instead of merely sticking to traditional Korean dance. The development of new works and attempt for diverse program planning will serve as an opportunity to let an audience have the right understanding of traditional Korean dance and to open up a new chapter for performing arts of dance. Indeed, steady efforts should be made from diverse angles to step up audience development to attract a large audience to enlarge the market of dance performing arts.
