식물의 생명력 이미지에 관한 연구

Abstract

무릉도원이라는 말이 있듯 사람들은 자연을 보며 이상향의 세계를 생각하고 위안을 받는다. 본인도 지치고 힘들었을 때 찾아갔던 자연 속에서 공기의 청량함, 따뜻함, 힘이 솟을 듯한 에너지를 느꼈다. 본 논문은 본인이 작품을 제작하는 과정에서 열대 식물에게 느꼈던 에너지와, 본인과 식물의 에너지 소통에 대해 탐구하고자 한다. 생명이란 단어의 어원을 살펴보았으며, 장자의 생명에 대한 정의를 알아보았는데, 장자는 생명이란 스스로의 힘으로 존재하는 것이라고 했다. 이러한 생명이 가진 힘인 생명력을 노장사상의 ‘도’라는 개념을 통해 설명하려한다. ‘도’는 모든 것의 근원이며 천지만물과 함께 움직이고 존재한다. 다른 존재와 ‘도’가 통할 때 이를 ‘물아일체’라 정의한다. 살아있는 생명 모두가 하늘과 땅 사이에 스스로 서있는 존재임이기에 가능함을 천지인 합일을 통해 설명하고자 한다. 식물에서 느껴지는 생명력을 극대화시키기 위해 열대식물을 택하였다. 식물에게서 느껴지는 편안함과 휴식의 이미지뿐 아니라, 자주보지 못하는 식물에서 느껴지는 새로움을 표현하고자 한다. 그것은 곧 일상이 아닌 일탈에서 오는 해방감과 같다. 일탈적 힘과 포근함을 동시에 표현하기 위해 거친 먹과 초록 계열의 색조로 환상 속 식물들을 창조하였다. 이러한 색채가 가지고 있는 효과를 분석하여 앞으로 작업 방향을 모색해보고자 한다. 식물은 본인이 생각하는 생명의 개념을 가장 잘 보여주는 매개체이다. 그 중 시각적으로 잎사귀의 힘이 가장 잘 느껴지는 열대식물을 통해 생명에서 느껴지는 ‘도’를 표현하려 하였다. 또한 실제 색채가 아닌 먹과 녹색을 동시에 사용하여 푸르름과 힘을 강하게 드러내고자 했다. 이는 실질적인 풍경화가 아니라, 구체적 형상을 통해 자신의 감정을 전달하려하는 문인화와 통한다고 생각한다. 위의 과정을 작품에 대입하여 본인의 작업과정을 돌아보고, 의도와 작품이 일치하는가와 개선해야 할 점을 분석하였다. 결론적으로 생명이 가진 힘을 다른 이에게 전달하여, 다른 사람도 본인과 같이 청량하고 푸근하며 따듯한 느낌을 본인의 작품을 통해 느끼게 하는 것이 본인의 과제이다.;Like the word Mureungdowon (a paradise), people watch nature and think of a utopia, consoling themselves. When I was tired and troubled, I went out to see nature. Then, I felt the cleanness and warmth of air, and vital energy. This paper sought to explore my feeling about tropical plants while I produced works, as well as the communication between myself and the energy of plants. I examined the origin of the word, life, and Zhuangzi's definition of life. Zhuangzi said that life exists by its own power. The life power is explained by the concept of "way" held by the thoughts of Laotzu and Zhuangzi. Way is the origin of all things and moves and exists together with all creations. When Way interacts with other beings, this is defined as a unity of the target and myself. All lives are beings that stand alone between the heaven and the earth, and the possibilities are explained by the unity of the heaven, earth and humanity. To maximize the life power felt in plants, tropical plants were chosen. I intend to express not only the comfort and relaxation image of plants but also the freshness of plants not frequently seen. It is not like a routine but like a sense of freedom from routines. To express the power and warmth of deviation, I created plants in vision using coarse Chinese ink and green colors. I seek to analyze the effects of these colors to explore the direction of my future work. Plants are the medium that best shows the concept of life that I think to be. Through tropical plants where the power of leaves can be visually felt the best, I tried to express the way felt in life. Also, I used Chinese ink and green to strongly express lushness and power. This is not a landscape but a literary painting that intends to deliver one's feeling through specific images. Through the above process, I examined my working process, as well as whether my intention matches my works, and what I should improve. In conclusion, my task sought to deliver the power of life to others to allow them to feel the same cleanness and warmth as I felt through my works.
