김죽파 전승 민간풍류와 이리향제 줄풍류의 뒷풍류 비교연구

Abstract

본 논문의 주제인 김죽파 전승 민간풍류와 이리향제 줄풍류의 뒷풍류 비교연구를 통하여 알 수 있는 점은 다음과 같다. 첫째 구성 면에서 두 풍류는 기본적인 악장의 구성은 같으나 악장 이름의 부분적 차이를 보인다. 둘째 장단 수에서 <글게양청>만 김죽파 전승 민간풍류가 이리향제 줄풍류 보다 1장단이 더 많고 계면, 우조, 굿거리는 장단수가 같다. 셋째 이리향제 줄풍류가 김죽파 전승 민간풍류에 비해 분장법(分章法)을 많이 사용한다. 넷째 시김새 면에서 김죽파 전승 민간풍류는 이리향제 줄풍류에 비해 많은 꾸밈음이 사용되고, 리듬의 분할이 더욱 많다. 이와 같은 음악적 특징은 전승자들의 음악적 배경에서부터 찾을 수 있다. 김죽파 전승 민간풍류의 전승자인 김죽파(金竹坡:1911~1989)는 가곡과 가사, 판소리, 승무, 가야금 병창 그리고 민간풍류 등 많은 학습과 예술 활동을 하였다. 이러한 활동들을 통하여 얻어낸 음악성을 <김죽파 가야금산조>로 집대성하였다. 이러한 배경에서 전승된 풍류이기 때문에 김죽파 전승 민간풍류가 많은 리듬 분할과 넓은 음역을 사용하고 많은 꾸밈음을 표현하는 산조적인 특징을 보인다. 그에 반해 이리향제 줄풍류는 인간문화재인 강낙승(姜洛昇:1916~)을 통하여 전승되고 있는데, 강낙승 역시 가곡과 가사, 양금, 단소, 장구, 거문고 등 다방면에 걸친 학습과 예술활동을 하였다. 하지만 그 음악적 영역이 풍류에만 국한되었고 이는 꿋꿋하고 간결한 이리향제 줄풍류를 완성케 하였다. 본 비교 연구를 통하여 김죽파 전승 민간풍류와 이리향제 줄풍류의 특징을 밝혀 민간풍류를 연주하고 이해하는데 도움을 주고자 한다.;This comparative study attempts to summarize characteristics of Mingan P'ungnyu by Kim Juk P'a and Irihyangje Chulp'unnyu by Kang Nak Seung. The differences may be better understood as we look at the background of the two p'ungnyu and the transmitters. Kim Juk P'a (1911-1989) is a prominent representative of the sanjo tradition. She is also known for her activity in such genres as kagok, kasa, p'ansori, seung-mu, kayageum peongchang and mingan p'ungnyu. Mingan P'unnyu transmitted by Kim Juk P'a was formed under the strong influence of the sanjo tradition and is characterized by wider pitch range and large diversity of rhythmic and melodic patterns. Kang Nak Seung (1916 ~) represents the pure p'ungnyu style. Although he has mainly studied p'unnyu (playing such instruments as yanggeum, danso, jang-gu, komungo), he is also famous for performing kagok and kasa. Kang Nak Seung's succinct and plain style is fully represented in Irihyangje Chulp'unnyu. According to the study, the main stylistic differences between the two p'ungnyu are as follows: 1. Although the basic structures of both p'unnyu are similar, there are differences in the names of some corresponding parts. 2. In kyemeon, ujo, kutkori movements, the number of changdan (rhythmic cycles) is the same in both p'unnyu, whereas keul-gye-yang-cheong part of Kim Chuk P'a Mingan P'unnyu is longer by one changdan, compared to that of Irihyangje Chulp'unnyu. 3. Notation-wise, in Kim Juk P'a Mingan P'unnyu, the method of rhythmical subdivision is used more frequently, than in Irihyangje Chulp'unnyu. That is, the musical material of some of movements is graphically arranged in smaller beats, which is only recognizable when comparing the scores. 4. Kim Juk P'a Mingan P'unnyu is more developed in terms of melodic and rhythmic ornamentation, as a result of influence of the sanjo style. The purpose of this study was to provide information for better understanding of Mingan P'unnyu tradition and Irihyangje Chulp'unnyu by performers.
