국내 학술지 인용색인의 구축 방안에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 인용색인의 필요성과 기능을 제시하고, 국내 학술지의 인용색인을 구축하기 위한 기초 자료를 제안하고자 하였다. 이를 위해서 문헌연구와 사례연구를 이용하였다. 먼저 문헌연구를 통해서는 인용색인의 필요성을 파악하였으며 연구자가 전통적으로 많이 사용하는 인용과 참고문헌의 기술형식을 조사하여 어떤 기술 요소들을 사용하는지를 고찰하였다. 사례연구를 통해서는 인용색인의 구조와 기능을 파악하기 위해 ISI(Institute for Scientific Infonnation)에서 발간하는 SCI(Science Citation Index)를 조사하였다. 이 상에서 파악한 바를 토대로 국내 학술지를 위한 인용색인의 구축에 필요한 기본 데이터 요소를 선정하고 그 기술형식을 제안하였다 이와 함께 인용색인의 작성에서 문제점과 해결 방안을 제시하고 국내 학술지 인용색인 시스템의 설계시 고려사항을 입력, 전거, 검색의 측면에서 설명하였다. 국내 학술지를 위한 인용색인의 설계에서 입력 대상은 학술지의 원저논문을 중심으로 참고문헌 중 학술지와 비학술지의 내용을 모두 입력하며, 원저논문에서는 참고문헌의 수치 데이터를 포함한다. 국내 학술지를 위한 인용색인의 설계에서 검색 대상은 학술지의 원저논문과 참고문헌에 기술된 학술지만을 대상으로 한다. 따라서 이러한 입력과 검색 대상을 고려하여 국내 학술지 인용색인이 유용한 기능을 수행하기 위해서 포함해야 할 기본 데이터 요소와 기술형식을 결정하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 국내 학술지를 대상으로 한 인용색인은 다음과 같은 특정이 있다. 첫째, 국내 학술지 인용색인에 포함해야 할 기본 데이터 요소를 원저논문과 참고 문헌의 분석을 통하여 네 가지 측면에서 13항목을 선정하고 기술형식을 제안하였다. 저자와 관련한 사항으로 저자명 저자의 연락처 소속기관명 3항목, 논문의 서지사항과 관련한 사항으로 논문제목, 서명 및 학술지명, 권호수와 면수, 발행년도 URL 5항목, 논문의 주제를 표현하는 사항으로 키워드, 주제분야 2항목, 논문의 내용을 기술하는 사항으로 본문언어 초록 참고문헌 데이터 3항목이다. 둘째, 인용색인을 구축할 때 생길 수 있는 문제점은 『정보과학회지』의 참고문헌 실례를 들어 자료의 구분 기술(記述) 기술 요소의 측면에서 지적하고 해결 방안을 제시하였다. 셋째, 인용색인에서 제공하는 참고문헌은 학술지의 서지정보뿐만 아니라 참고문헌의 수치 데이터와 이용자의 요구가 있을 경우에 비학술지의 서지정보도 제공한다 따라서 기존의 인용색인보다 적합한 문헌과 관련된 참고문헌을 모두 제공한다. 넷째, 주제색인은 저자가 부여한 키워드에 논문제목에서 추출한 색인어를 추가함으로서 검색의 효율성을 높일 수 있다. 또한 초록에서도 키워드를 추출하여 주제색인에 이용할 수 있다. 다섯째, 인용색인에서 입력은 데이터 요소의 정확한 입력과 입력자의 편의를 고려하였으며, 전거파일을 통하여 색인과 검색의 정확성을 고려하였다. 여섯째, 검색에서 관련 문헌의 참조를 위해 소스색인으로 여러 차례의 링크를 거치지 않고 서지정보를 한 화면에서 제공하도록 하였다. 따라서 검색화면에서 저자,논문제목, 학술지명, 권호수와 면수, 발행년도와 같이 기본적인 요소는 모두 동일한 화면에서 참조할 수 있도록 하였다. 본 연구는 국내 학술지의 인용색인을 구축하기 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는 것에 중점을 두었으며, 선정한 인용색인의 기본 데이터 요소와 기술형식은 학술적인 전자문헌까지 포괄할 수 있고 입력의 기술적인 측면과 학술지의 문제 분석 측면은 여러 학술지에 확장하여 적용이 가능하다. 또한 인용색인 시스템의 설계에서 기본 데이터 요소는 선택적으로 수용할 수 있으며 입력, 전거, 검색의 고려사항과 함께 기초 자료로서 효율적인 활용이 가능할 것이다.;The purpose of this study is to assess the necessity and function of the citation index and to establish the basis of the citation index for academic journals in Korea. For this study, desktop literature research and case study were done. The literature research showed the necessity of citation index, and provided investigation on styles of citation and reference typically used by researchers. The case study investigated SCI(Science Citation Index), published by ISI(Institute for Scientific Information), for grasping structures and functions of the citation index. To select the basic elements and to describe the formats for the citation index of academic journals in Korea are analyzed source articles and references. The proposed the citation index for academic journals in Korea has the following characteristics. 1) Through analyzing the items that have been cited in references and source articles, the basic elements for citation index of academic journals in Korea were provided. Thirteen basic elements at four sides were identified and the format of description was specified respectively. The basic elements are author, methods that the author is connected, organization that the author is affiliated, title of article, title of a book or journal, volume/number and page numbers, year of publication, URL, keyword, subject category, language of resource, abstract, data of references in the article. 2) To propose the solutions about problems when making the citation index, it is analyzed and categorized by classifying the materials, descriptions, and descriptive elements from Korea Information Science Society Review. 3) The proposed citation index has not only bibliographic informations of journal-references but also non-journal-references including data of references. It is possible to provide all bibliographic informations of references that have been cited literatures. 4) It provides a higher efficiency of retrieval in the Subject Index, since the index terms extracted titles used as well as keywords. 5) Citation index system was considered correct input of data elements and user interfaces. It was considered accuracy of indexing and retrieval through authority files. 6) It is possible to display bibliographic informations without many linkages for referring the Source Index. So, citation index must core elements as author, title of article, journal title, volume/number and page numbers in same screen. This study focuses on providing the basis for citation index of academic journals in Korea, and it is applicable not only to printed academic journals but also to electronic journals. Also, basic data elements and search interface considerations presented in this study will be useful for citation index of academic journals in Korea.
