17세기 국어의 어간말자음에 대한 형태음소론적 연구

Abstract

17세기 국어의 어간말자음을 가진 곡용·활용 어간형태소에 대한 형태음소론적인 연구를 목적으로 한 본고는 중세국어에서 근대국어로 이행되던 17세기 국어의 형태음소 교체, 특히 자음으로 끝나는 곡용·활용어간의 음소교체를 보고자 하였으며, 더 나아가 어간형태소와 조사 혹은 어미의 결합에서 드러나는 여러 음운현상을 주목함으로써 17세기 당시의 언어현실을 재구해 보고자 하는 데 더욱 중점을 두었다. 본고가 목적하는 바는 주지한 것처럼 17세기 국어에 있어서 형태음소론의 한 부분인, 자음말음을 갖는 어간이 곡용할 때와 활용할 때 일어나는 음소교체의 양상을 정리하고, 그것을 중심으로 하여 교체형에 대한 음운론적 해석을 하려는 데에 있다. 따라서, 형태소의 교체에 대한 기술이 완전하기 위해서는 어간과 어미 모두에 걸쳐 기술해야 할 것이므로 어간에 중심을 두고 서술하되 어미형태소에 어떠한 음운현상이 나타나는가를 고찰하였다. 또한, 동일한 어간말자음을 갖는 체언어간과 조사 용언어간과 어미 사이에서 발견되는 교체 성격상의 일치·불일치 점과 체언과 용언이라는 문법적 범주에 따라 다르게 나타나는 음운현상이나 표기에 대해서도 살펴보았다. Ⅰ장에서는 17세기 근대국어의 언어 실상을 알기 위하여 표기체계를 검토하고, 이를 바탕으로 음운체계를 개관하며, 연구사 검토를 통해 문제를 제기하고 본고가 나아갈 방향에 대하여 제시하였다. Ⅱ장에서는 자음으로 끝나는 어간의 교체형들과 교체환경을 검토하였다. 이를 위하여 단자음으로 끝나는 어간과 복자음으로 끝나는 어간들을 나누어 논의를 진행시키며 자동적으로 교체하는 것과 그렇지 않은 것을 분류하였다. 어간말자음에 따라 어간을 나누어 살펴보되 동일한 어간말음을 갖는 체언어간과 용언어간의 경우 교체 성격을 비교, 기술하고자 한다. 따라서, 단자음 말음어간 ‘ㄱ, ㄴ, ㄷ, ㄹ, ㅁ, ㅂ, ㅅ, ㅈ, ㅊ, ㅋ, ㅌ, ㅍ, ㅎ'등을 자동적 교체를 하는 것으로 인식하고, 곡용과 활용의 양상을 살펴보았으며, 비자동적 교체를 하는 ‘ㄷ, ㅅ, ㅂ' 어간말음의 교체양상을 검토하였다. 다음으로, 복자음 어간말음 ‘ㄳ, ㄵ, ㄶ, ㄺ, ㄻ, ㄼ, ㄾ, ㄿ, ㅀ, ㅁㄱ, ㅄ, ㅺ’ 등을 갖는 어간의 자동적 교체와 비자동적 교체를 보이는 ‘ㄻ’발음을 갖는 어간에 대해서도 살펴보았다. Ⅲ장에서는 Ⅱ장에서 검토한 어간말자음을 가진 어간과 조사, 어미에 일어나는 음운현상 - 음소의 교체현상인 중화와 미파화, 자음동화, 구개음화, 경음화로, 음소의 탈락현상인 ‘ㄹ’과 ‘ㅅ’, 그리고 ‘ㅎ’의 탈락, 그리고 마지막으로 음소의 축약현상인 유기음화현상 - 을 다시 종합하여 정리하고, 형태론적 범주화에 따라 달리 나타나는 음운현상에 대하여 살펴보았다. Ⅳ장은 17세기 국어에 나타나는 형태음소론적인 특징들을 살펴보고, 17세기 전반과 후반의 서로 다른 양상과 발달하고 있는 음운현상, 즉 17세기 국어의 제반 특징들을 정리하였다. Ⅴ장은 결론으로서 본고의 연구 결과를 종합, 요약하였다.;The purpose of the study is the morphophonemic discription on the final consonant of the stem in the 17th century Korean. This study clarifies the allomorph of stem and inflectional affix where the inflectional affix is connected with the final consonant of nominal and verbal stem. Namely, this study interprets the morphophonemic alternation in inflection. In chapter 1, the purpose of this study, the object and literature cited as well as the preceding studies regarding this subject are presented. Besides, the phonological system in the 17th century is shown. The consonant system is identical to contemporary Korean. In chapter II, the stem shown where the inflectional affix is connected with the final consonant of stem is divided into one final consonant and two final consonant. Again, the stem with one final consonant and two final consonant separately are classified into automatic alternation and non-automatic alternation. The one final consonant of stem related to automatic alternation are 'ㄱ, ㄴ, ㄷ, ㄹ, ㅁ, ㅂ, ㅅ, ㅇ, ㅈ, ㅊ, ㅋ, ㅌ, ㅍ, ㅎ'. And, The on final consonant of stem related to non-automatic alternation are 'ㄷ, ㅂ, ㅅ. Besides, the two final consonant of stem related to automatic alternation, that is, the consonant clusters are 'ㄳ, ㄵ, ㄶ, ㄺ, ㄻ, ㄼ, ㄽ, ㄾ, ㄿ, ㅀ, ㅁㄱ, ㅄ, ㅅㄱ' etc. Such stem endings in cluster undego consonant simplification when these are connected with the inflection affix beginning with consonant. In chapter III, various morphphonemic alternaions occurring in the final things when the final consonant of stem is connected with the inflection affix beginning with consonant, that is to say, alternation of phoneme, loss of phoneme, synthesis of phoneme are shown in this chapter. This chapter presents phonological phenomena, namely, neuturalization and, nasalization, glottalization, palatalization etc. In chapter IV, I review distinctive things of the 17th century Korean on the morphphonemic alternaions and it is possible to infer the result that at that times various alternation occurred in the final consonant of stem from the shapes of the phonological variation of the 17th century Korean. In chapter V, I present the summary of this paper.
