동요의 리듬과 스토리를 표현한 일러스트레이션 연구

Abstract

우리는 태어나 엄마 품에서 듣는 자장가를 시작으로 수많은 동요를 듣고 부르며 성장한다. 동심의 꿈을 담은 순수한 스토리는 아름다운 리듬과 만나 동요를 이루게 되고, 이러한 동요는 어린이에게는 꿈과 희망을 성인에게는 아름다운 지난 시절에 대한 회상과 편안함을 갖게 하며 전 세대의 가슴에 남게 된다. '동요(童謠)는 어린이의 노래' 라고 정의되어지고 주로 어린 시기에 배우게 되지만, 어린 시절 뿐 아니라 성인에 이르기까지 전 생애에 걸쳐 영향을 줄 수 있다. 동요를 통해 유아들은 자신의 목소리로 음악을 표현하며 미적 체험을 하고, 리듬을 통해 음악적 개념을 형성하고, 자신의 느낌과 생각을 음악을 통하여 창의적으로 표현하는 기회를 가질 수 있다. 또한 문학 작품으로써의 동요를 접하면서 스토리를 통해 삶과 세상에 대한 통찰력이 자라나고, 언어적 감수성을 세련시키며, 심미적 정서를 풍부하게 한다. 또, 인간과 자연을 사랑하는 마음을 갖게 되는 기회를 가질 수 있다. 이와 같이 유아기 때의 동요의 스토리와 리듬의 체험은 유아뿐만 아니라 어린 시절을 겪은 성인들에게도 정말 중요한 것이다. 동요는 유아에게 아름다움을 깨닫게 해주는 심미적인 경험을 주기도 하고, 즐거움과 감동을 느끼면서 내면의 정신세계를 변화시켜 나가는데 영향력을 미치기 때문이다. 본 논문은 이러한 동요의 스토리와 리듬을 일러스트레이션으로 표현하여 즐거웠던 어린 시절에 대한 회상과 편안함을 주고자 하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 동요를 일러스트레이션으로 표현함은 음악의 리듬을 시각의 리듬으로 표현하는 것으로 본 연구는 먼저 동요의 일반적 정의와 특징에 관해 문헌 자료를 통해 분석하고, 서로 다른 두 예술인 음악의 리듬과 시각의 리듬의 특징과 차이점에 대해 살펴보았다. 또한 본 연구의 표현 소재인 동요의 리듬의 특징을 알아보았다. 다음으로 동요의 메시지를 전해 주는 스토리에 관한 연구로 동요의 스토리의 특징과 유형분석을 통해 이론적 배경을 정립하였다. 또한 시각적 리듬을 표현한 작품과 본인의 작품과 유사한 특징을 보이는 동요그림책의 일러스트레이션을 참고하고 분석하여 본인의 작품과 비교 하였다. 본문의 내용을 토대로 지난시절을 회상할 수 있는 동요 7곡을 선정하여 각각의 스토리와 리듬 분석을 통한 결과를 토대로 본인이 구축한 그림형식의 원리와 나무의 재료 위에 일러스트레이션을 실험하고 분석하였다. 이러한 과정을 통하여 동요의 스토리와 리듬을 표현한 일러스트레이션의 의미와 본인이 구축한 그림형식과 재료에 대한 탐구에 대한 효용성의 의미를 찾아보고 이에 대한 이론적 정리를 통해 더 발전된 작업을 진행하는 계기를 마련하고자 한다.;We grow up singing and listening to many nursery rhymes starting from the lullaby we hear in our mothers’ bosoms. A naïve story containing innocent dreams meets with a beautiful rhythm and forms a nursery rhyme, and such a nursery rhyme remains in the hearts of all generations giving dream and hope to children and the memories of young days and comfort to adults. As nursery rhyme is defined as ‘a children’s song’ and we usually learn it during childhood, it may affect throughout the whole life to adulthood on from childhood. Infants can have an artistic experience by expressing their voices in music through a nursery rhyme, forming a musical concept through the rhythm and having an opportunity to express their feelings and thoughts creatively through music. Moreover, an insight towards life and world grows through the story by approaching a nursery rhyme as a culture piece and it sophisticates the linguistic sensation and enriches the aesthetic emotion of an infant. Additionally, infants can have the opportunity to possess a heart to love human and nature. As such, the experience of the story and rhythm of a nursery rhyme at infancy is not only important to infants but is also very important to adults those have gone through a childhood. It is because a nursery rhyme gives an aesthetic experience which enables an infant to realize beauty and influences to change the inner spirit feeling joy and impression. The objective of research is to give the memories of happy young days and comfort by expressing the story and rhythm of such nursery rhymes as an illustration. Expressing a nursery rhyme as an illustration is expressing a musical rhythm as a visual rhythm that this research first analyzed the general definition and features of a nursery rhyme through bibliographical information, and looked into the features and differences of two different rhythms of artist music and visual rhythms. Furthermore, I looked at the features of a rhythm of a nursery rhyme which is an expression material of this research. Next, I established a theoretical background through characteristics of a story of a nursery rhyme and type analysis as a research about the story sending the message of a nursery rhyme. In additions to that, I referred to and analyzed the illustrations of a nursery rhyme picture book showing similar characteristics with my pieces and those expressed a visual rhythm and compared them with my pieces. Based on the content of the text, I selected 7 pieces of nursery rhymes those could recall the old days, and based on the result of an analysis of each story and rhythm I experimented and analyzed some illustrations on the tree material and the concept of the picture format I had created. Through such stages, I am about to find the meaning of an illustration which expressed the story and rhythm of a nursery rhyme and the meaning of utilization about exploring as to the picture format and materials I’d created, and prepare a motive to proceed a more developed work through a theoretical rearrangement about this.
