자연석 모티브를 이용한 Nuno felt 패브릭 디자인

Abstract

현대사회는 첨단 과학기술의 발달과 경제적 성장으로 그 문화와 환경이 나날이 급변하고 있으며 물질 중심의 사회 속에서 현대인의 가치관과 라이프스타일은 반대로 정신적이고 자연적인 것을 추구하게 되었다. 예술은 물론 디자인 분야에서 오가닉(organic)과 에콜로지(ecology)와 같은 친환경적 자연주의 트렌드가 지속되면서 소비자들은 자연을 소재로 한 제품들을 선호하고 있다. 현대문명에서 인간의 지식과 기술의 힘으로 만들어내고 통제하는 분야가 갈수록 늘어가고 있지만 자연이란 인간의 힘이 더해지지 않고 스스로 존재하고 이루어지는 것으로 아직도 인간이 쉽게 통제하거나 설명할 수 없는 신비로운 영역이다. 현대인은 여전히 인간의 능력으로 이루어 낼 수 없는 자연물에 대한 동경을 가지고 있으며 디자이너에게 있어서도 예로부터 변함없이 무한한 영감을 주는 대상이다. 여러 자연물 중 문명을 거슬러 올라가는 탈물질주의적 의미를 내포하고 원시성을 지니고 있는 자연석은 자연본성으로의 회기와 소박한 감성을 느끼게 해준다. 자연의 활동과 세월을 고스란히 지니고 있는 자연석은 거스를 수 없는 대자연의 흐름으로 자연그대로의 순수한 조형성을 가지고 있다. 유기적인 곡선들로 이루어진 다양한 형태는 정형화된 틀 안에서 생활하고 있는 현대인에게 편안하고 자유로운 감성을 느끼게 해주는 모티브이다. 섬유 소재 산업에 있어서도 후가공을 하여 내츄럴한 표면느낌의 소재를 중심으로 개발하고 있는 상황이다. 이러한 가공 중에서 펠트기법은 양모수축에 의해 표면의 요철감을 극대화 시키는 가공의 개념으로 다양한 소재와의 결합이 가능한 누노펠트 기법분야에서 더욱 발전하고 있다. 특히 누노펠트 제작과정은 물과 알카리, 마찰에 의한 가공으로 친환경적인 기법이라고 할 수 있다. 환경오염에 대한 문제를 야기하지 않고 있기 때문에 앞으로도 활발한 연구가 기대되는 분야라고 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 자연석을 모티브로 디자인하고 누노펠트 기법으로 실제 작품을 제작하여 현대인에게 친환경적 라이프 스타일을 위한 패브릭을 제시하고자 한다.;As a result of the development of advanced science and technology and economic growth, the culture and environment of the modern society has been changing day by day. In the society centered on materials, the values and lifestyles of the modern people are pursuing mental and natural matters oppositely. In the overall design and art fields, naturalistic eco trend like organic and ecology are continuing and products with natural materials are being preferred. In the modern civilization, fields that people create and control with their knowledge and technology are increasing but nature is not added with human power, it exits on its own, and created on its own so it is still a mysterious region that human being cannot easily control or explain. Modern people still have yearning for natural things that people cannot create with their abilities and natural still continues to be a target that invariably inspires the designers infinitely since the past. Among many natural objects, natural stone which connote post-materialistic meaning which dates back in civilization and contains primitiveness as well. These natural stones allow people to feel the recovery and rustic sensibility of nature. Although these stones do not have lives, they are intact with activities and years of nature and has a pure and natural aesthetic that you cannot go against the nature's flow. The atypical forms made of organic curves are motives that inspires freedom, comfort, and sensibility for the modern people who lives within the standard patten of life. Even in the textile industry, the materials with natural surface feel through various post-process are being more popular in development rather than the smooth fiber artificial textile. Among these industrial processes, Nuno Felting is a technique for differentiate textured fabrics with the existing fabrics as a result of wool shrinkage through the concept of post-process and this is possible to be utilized in various textile fields. Additionally, in the production process, it is an eco-friendly technique so it is possible to create the effect of natural surface through only water, alkalinity and frictional force. As a result, this field is expected to have active research in the future. The purpose of this study is to design Nuno Felt Fabric Design with the motive of natural stone in order to propose this design for the modern people for an eco-friendly lifestyle. The study content of this is as follows. First, this study investigates nature as the motive of the design and about the figurative meaning of natural stone which is the main motive of this study. Secondly, research expression methods through studying the design cases using natural stone motives. Thirdly, Research principle and the possibility of expression of Nuno Felting by understanding the characteristics of wool and felt. Fourthly, through researching textile that can be applied for Nuno Felting, create a sample and based on the sample, propose a fabric design. The results gained through these research process is as following. First, natural stone is a natural object that contains the mother nature, the shapes consisting organic curves and the unrefined texture have the natural beauty that the modern people pursue and realized that this is a motive that investigate the power of infinite nature which is beyond the scope of human. Secondly, it was possible to learn that the various possibility of expression using Nuno Felt technique has the biggest affect on the density of the fabric using Nuno Felting and when fabrics with different organization and density are used together, it was possible to express various surface texture. Thirdly, the Nuno Felt technique that used the density of various materials and these natural motives are fabrics that can appeal to the modern people who need eco-friendly living and through material differentiation and advancement, it was possible to gain a research results that the possibility of having emotion textile materials with a wide range of value-added advantage.
