분석적 큐비즘 회화의 기하학적 형태미를 응용한 의상디자인 연구

Abstract

현대인은 각종 매체와 인터넷의 확대를 통해 놀라울 만큼 빠르게 세계 속에서 소통하고 있으며 다양한 정보와 이미지의 홍수 속에서 생활하고 있다. 이러한 실정에서 현대인들은 점차 ‘입는다’ 는 개념의 실용으로서의 의상에서 벗어나 보다 차별화되고 각자의 개성을 나타낼 수 있는 특별한 의상을 필요로 하고 있으며 과감한 자기표현에 인색하지 않은 추세이다. 따라서 현대의 패션 디자인은 기능성뿐 아니라 창조적 예술성이 요구되며, 자신만의 개성과 보다 깊이 있는 표현을 위하여 조형 예술과의 끊임없는 교감을 필요로 하고 있다. 이는 패션의 표현이 결국은 인간을 주제로 하는 것이라는 점에서 인간의 내적 세계를 표현하는 조형예술과의 긴밀한 연관성에서 그 의의를 찾을 수 있다. 20세기에 등장한 예술 운동 중 가장 실험적이며 새로운 모더니즘의 시작이었던 큐 비 즘은 현대 디자인에 커다란 영향을 주었는데, 본 연구는 이러한 사실을 토대로 큐 비 즘의 조형적 성격을 분석하여 그 미적 특성을 패션디자인에 응용함으로써 패션디자인 분야에 있어서 표현의 영역을 확대함에 목적이 있다. 1907년부터 1914년 까지 파리의 아방가르드 미술운동의 하나로 기존의 시•공간에 대한 개념의 변화를 시도하며 새로운 조형세계를 보여주었던 큐 비 즘 (Cubism)은 전성기였던 1910년대부터 패션디자인에 직•간접적인 영향을 주었으며, 현대에 이르기 까지 패션 디자이너들에 의해 컬렉션의 테마로 지속적으로 다양하게 해석되어 왔다. 본 연구는 이러한 큐 비 즘 의 전개 단계 중 한 부부인 분석적 큐 비 즘 의 기하학적 형태미를 연구하여 의상 디자인에 응용 하여 보고자 한다. 분석적 큐 비 즘은 큐비스트인 후앙 그리(Juan Gris)의 저술에 언급된 큐 비 즘을 나누는 큰 두 단계 중 한 단계로 본 연구에서는 이 시대의 회화를 대상으로 디자인 모티프의 범위를 정하고 있다. 연구의 방법으로는 문헌 고찰 방법과 시각적 자료 분석의 실증적 방법을 취한다. 연구내용에 있어서 첫째, 큐 비 즘 의 성립 배경과 전개과정을 살피 고 그 특징을 파악한다. 둘째, 분석적 큐 비 즘 회화의 조형성을 분석하고 그 기하학적 형태미를 규명하여 디자인 창출의 토대를 마련한다. 셋째, 기하학적 조형미의 활용사례를 표 집, 분석하여 디자인의 방향을 세운다. 이렇게 하여 총 8점을 작품을 제작 제시하고자 하였다. 작품제작을 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 디자인에 적용한 기하학적 입체 형태에 각 면마다 명도를 달리한 색채를 적용한 결과 자연광 에서의 명암표현에 의한 것보다 한결 강력한 입체감을 표출시킬 수 있었다. 둘째, 분석적 큐 비 즘 회화와 같이 모 노 크롬 적 색채를 적용한 결과 산만하지 않은 집중적 통일감을 줄 수 있었다. 셋째, 소재의 두께와 재질 감을 달리한 결과 기하학적 조형에 있어서 무게 감, 견고성, 날카로움, 차가움 등의 감성이미지를 표현할 수 있었다. 넷째, 기하학적 형태가 의상표면에서 생성되는 것 같은 구성방식을 취함으로써 기하학적 입체가 의상과 유리되지 않도록 하여 자연스럽고 간결한 조형미가 구현될 수 있었다. 다섯째, 단순한 기본형태의 디자인에 적용된 분석적 큐 비 즘의 조형미는 현대인들의 세련되고 섬세한 개성과 감성을 표현하는데 적합함을 알 수 있었다.;Modern man through various media and the Internet is incredibly fast expansion in the world of communication and information and has been living in the flood of images.
