공간 구성 요소로서 가구를 이용한 주거 공간의 가변성 연구

Abstract

The recent trend in architecture is to continuously explore the more wider possibilities of creating space that embodies the the diversity of human life in detail, rather than the previous climate of focusing on the functional aspects and outward. Due to the diverse modern society, the needs of the occupants are endlessly evolving whilst the living space itself has remained fixed and unchanging. Inevitably this has lead to the realization that the current definition of space has reached its limits in containing the occupants diverse needs and changing lifestyle. Therefore the concept of space, with the basics elements; flooring,ceiling and walls, is changing into a more liquid concept. Private living quarters are the barometers of expressing these recent changes in architecture. As Jean Helion has defined, "All the architecture is painted with the housing issues." The house is the basic spatial unit where the needs and tastes of the occupants, arising from structural changes in family and society, intercede and react to each other. Therefore, changeability has become the foremost concept in recent spatial planning. Inter-changeable housing is the concept of including the diverse lifestyle of the modern person, designing the space to be flexible ; enabling the occupant to be more active in current living quarters. This study is defying the changeability in housing to be a expansion of movable, changeable and combinable parts in spatial planning, simultaneously minimizing the unchangeable fixed spaces. In other words taking a more active stance in creating a interchangeable living space. Functional and spatial diversity comes from spatial, functional combinability and enables the flexible usage of a singular space. This study will look at the current flexibility in spatial planning and also contemplate the functions of furniture and go over some examples in maximizing spatial flexibility by the usage of furniture. The contents of this study is as follows The first chapter will provide a background to this study and also the range, method and goals of this study. In the second chapter, the concept of furniture as an element of defining space, will be discussed in the context of the connection between living space and furniture, the terminology of the elements of space will be defined, and also the function and roles of furniture will be analyzed. The third chapter will be based on the second chapter by looking at the aspects of changeability through built in furniture and also will study the formation, definition and functions of built-in furniture. Additionally the usage of built in furniture in designing living space and changeability itself will also be contemplated in this chapter through and extensive array of examples. In the fourth chapter, on the basis of the previously discussed theory on space, the life patterns and cycles of the occupants will be applied as objective data and the data will be used to create a effective living space: changeable to fit and match the needs of the occupants. This study will come to the following conclusions. As changeability in spatial design will become more important due to the fast paced and diverse changes in modern society, furniture will become more important to act as the dividing point of a space, also creating a more interchangeable space to match the living patterns of the occupant, and the possible change in designing future living quarters. In this study the concept of furniture is not just limited to normal household accessories but also includes furniture as the element of changeability in space, a concept located between normal furniture and the characteristics of a building block of architectural space. This study will find meaning in defining furniture as an element of changeability in space, enabling spatial planning to exceed the traditional fixed concept, contemplating creation of a changeable flexible living space.;최근의 건축경향을 보면 기능중심의 환원적인 건축에서 벗어나 그 가능성을 넓히고 의미를 풍부하게 표출하는 등 공간 속에서 좀 더 구체적인 인간의 삶을 담아보려는 시도를 지속적으로 하고있다. 현대의 다원화된 사회적 배경 속에서 공간 내에서 생활하는 사용자의 요구사항은 계속적으로 변화하고 있는 반면 공간은 상대적으로 고정적인 특성을 지녀왔기 때문에, 거주자의 다양하고 변화하는 주생활을 수용하는 것에 한계점에 봉착했기 때문이다. 따라서 공간은 공간을 구성하는 바닥,벽,천정의 기본요소들을 바탕으로 점차 유동적인 공간으로 변화하고 있다. 개인 주거 공간은 이 같은 건축적 변화의 단면을 바로 읽어내는 바로미터로 작용한다. 그래서 장 엘리 용 은 '모든 건축은 주거의 문제로 채색되어진다'고 정의한 바 있다. 주택이란 거주자의 가족주기가 변화하며 사회의 변화에 대해 거주자의 요구사항이나 기호가 민감하게 작용하는 공간이기 때문이다. 이러한 이유로 최근 주거 공간계획에 있어서 가변성의 개념이 대두되고 있다. 가변 형 주거는 사회의 다변화와 그에 따른 사람들의 다양한 생 할 패턴을 수용할 수 있도록 공간의 융통성을 부여한 계획방식으로서, 자유로운 행동 선택을 가능하게 한다. 본 연구에서 주거공간에서의 가변성이란 고정된 부분을 최소화 시키고 이동, 분리, 결합이 가능한 공간 계획으로 공간의 변화가 능동적인 공간적 특징을 말한다. 공간과 기능의 다양성은 공간/기능의 복합성을 통해 만족되며, 한 공간내의 기능적 복합성은 융통성 있는 공간 사용을 가능하게 한다. 본 연구에서는 현재 일반적으로 계획되어지는 가변성에 대한 고찰과 함께 공간 가변화의 요소로서 가구의 역할과 기능, 사례분석 등을 통해 가구에 의한 주거 공간의 가변성을 제안하려 한다. 본 연구의 내용과 구성은 다음과 같다. 제 1장에서는 연구의 배경 및 목적, 연구 범위와 방법을 정확히 명시하였다. 제 2장에서는 공간 구성 요소로서 가구의 개념을 공간과 가구와의 관계에서부터 도출하여 가구의 의미와 기능, 본 논문에서의 공간 구성 요소에 대한 명확한 용어 개념 정리와 공간 구성요소로서 가구의 의미와 기능에 대해 분석한다. 제3장에서는 2장에서의 연구를 바탕으로 주거 공간에서의 가변성에 대해 개념과 필요성, 가변방식의 분석과 요소, 접근방식 분석, 가변성의 요소로서 가구를 이용한 실내 공간의 사례 분석 등을 통해 주거 공간의 가변성에 대해 고찰한다. 제4장에서는 앞서 사례분석을 통해 가변적 공간의 구성 요소로서 가구를 주거 공간에 적용하고자 하였다. 따라서 앞에서 추출된 이론적 연구를 토대로 거주 대상의 생활 패턴과 생활주기를 객관적 데이터에 근거하여 대입해 사용자의 편리성에 맞추어 효율적인 공간의 가변성을 구현하였다. 이러한 연구 과정을 통해 본 연구에서는 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 사회의 변화 속도가 빨라지고 공간 내에서 생활하는 사용자의 요구사항도 변화하면서 가변성의 개념이 대두됨에 따라서, 가구에 의한 공간 분절의 역할과 그에 따라 파생되는 형태성, 기능성으로 보다 다양한 가변적 공간 연출을 가능하도록 하여 거주자의 거주 특성 및, 가족 생활 주기에 적합한 가변적 주거 공간 계획의 새로운 가능성을 제시하고 있다. 본 연구에서의 가구는 일반적인 가구뿐만 아니라 건축요소와 가구의 중간선상에 위치하는 포괄적인 개념의 가구까지 다루고 있으며, 가변적 공간요소로서 도입되어 기존의 고정화된 공간의 개념을 유동적이고 유연한 공간으로 탈 정형화된 새로운 가변적 공간 생성 가능성을 모색하는데 의의를 둔다.
