한국 단청의 꽃문양을 응용한 웨딩드레스 디자인 연구

Abstract

현대사회가 국제화되면서 세계 패션경향은 지역 문화나 전통을 재해석하여 현대적으로 이를 발전시키려고 노력하고 있다. 따라서 우리 디자인 산업에서도 전통문화를 현대적 시각으로 바라보고 재해석함으로써 실용적이고 독창성을 갖는 디자인의 개발과 차별화를 추구하였다. 우리의 전통문양은 민족의 정서와 얼이 깃들어 있는 아름다운 미술자료이며 다채로운 색상의 장식성과 고유의 상징성이 있다. 그러므로 전통문양을 활용한 디자인 개발은 우리문화의 주체성을 발전시킬 뿐만 아니라 새로운 소재와 기법을 통해 시대적 흐름에 따른 현대적 감각을 새롭게 조명하고 발전 할 수 있는 가능성이 있다. 한국의 단청은 2천년 이전부터 고분, 공예품, 건축물 등에 다양하게 그려졌으며 회화와 같이 시대적 변천 과정을 거치며 예술적 창조력을 발휘해온 중요한 전통요소이다. 이에 본 연구는 웨딩드레스 디자인의 모티브로 한국단청의 꽃 문양을 선정하였다. 단청 꽃 문양을 주된 요소로 사용하여 단청 꽃 문양의 미적 조형성을 현대적 감각으로 재구성하고, 모티브를 레이저 컷팅 기법에 적용하여 현대적 기술을 접목시켜 작품에 활용하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 웨딩드레스 디자인에 있어 우리 민족의 정서와 미의식이 반영된 현대적 이미지의 웨딩드레스 디자인을 창출하고 이 디자인이 국내외 예식, 행사 때 사용될 수 있도록 하여 전통미를 나타내는 패션의 표현 방식의 확대를 도모하는데 있다. 이에 본 연구의 내용으로는 문헌고찰과 선행연구를 통하여 단청의 개념과 역사, 그리고 단청의 꽃 문양 대해 살펴보았다. 단청의 꽃 문양의 형태와 구성방식을 조형적으로 분석하였으며 디자이너의 작품사례를 통해 전통미를 표현고찰 하였다. 본 연구의 주요 기법으로 사용된 레이저 기법을 조사하여 레이저의 개념과 특성, 레이저의 응용분야, 레이저 컷팅 기법의 특성 및 조형성을 살펴보았다. 웨딩드레스의 정의와 역사를 알아보고 인터넷 정보 사이트 및 국내, 국외문헌 패션 컬렉션 자료를 통하여 단청문양을 활용한 현대 패션 디자인과 꽃 문양을 응용한 웨딩드레스디자인 사례를 살펴보았다. 이러한 이론적 배경을 토대로 한국단청 꽃 문양의 이미지를 창작하여 새로운 모티브를 재구성하고 레이저 컷팅 기법을 이용하여 총 8벌의 웨딩드레스를 디자인 제작하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 우리고유의 상징성을 가지고 있는 단청 꽃 문양의 형태를 분석한 결과, 단순하고 간결한 이미지를 현대적 감각의 문양디자인의 무한한 창출 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 한국 단청 꽃 문양의 미적 조형성을 현대적으로 재구성하여 웨딩드레스에 응용함으로써 모던한 이미지의 웨딩드레스 디자인에 응용 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. 셋째, 문양의 주된 표현기법으로 사용된 레이저 컷팅 기법은 단청의 간결한 꽃 문양을 현대감각으로 섬세하고 정교하게 표현할 수 있었으며 전통미와 현대 미가 결합된 문양효과를 나 타 낼 수 있었다. 넷째, 레이저 컷팅 기법을 인조가죽 소재에 도입함으로써 컷팅 된 부분을 통하여 투명하게 보이도록 하여 투시성의 효과를 표현할 수 있었으며, 또한 모티브 강조와 문양의 효과를 극대화 할 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 우리고유의 문화적 요소와 현대적 디자인 요소가 결합하여 전통이미지를 새로운 시각으로 표현하는데 의의가 있으며. 전통요소에 첨단의 기술과 독특한 소재를 접목한 본 연구는 패션분야에서 새로운 시도로 주목 받을 수 있을 것으로 여겨진다. 단청이라는 전통적인 요소를 현대적 감각으로 재구성하여 고전적이면서도 현대적인 예술적 가치가 높은 오트쿠트루적인 웨딩드레스 디자인 연구가 이루어지길 기대한다.;The trend of the fashion in global village is to endeavor to develop local culture and tradition in contemporary way. It is significant to develop traditional Korean patterns, giving important effect on the trend in the world fashion by Oriental colors and patterns due to convergence of the East and the West in globalized modern society. It is very important to make publicity of traditional Korean pattern style in the inside and outside of the country at the time of the opening of international events frequently and the increase of Koreans’ wedding abroad. Considering such points, this study is to propose a new pattern style to reinterpret the tradition combined with modern techniques, by selecting wedding dress in the fashion having traditional Korean properties and appropriate to such events and applying floral patterns in various colors to laser cutting technique. The conclusion from manufacturing the work is stated below: First, as a result of analyzing the shapes of floral patterns in various colors, which had the original Korean symbolism, unlimited possibility to create pattern design in modern sense could be found by stylizing simple image delicately. Second, by applying aesthetic formality of Korean floral patterns in various colors to wedding dress through contemporary re-composition, the availability for wedding dress design in modern image could be found. Third, simple floral patterns could be expressed in modern sense delicately and elaborately by laser cutting technique used for main expression technique for the patterns, showing pattern effect in combination of traditional beauty and modern beauty. Last, by introducing laser cutting technique to artificial leather material, perspective effect was expressed showing transparent through the cutting section, and the emphasis on motive and pattern effect were maximized. Through the result of this study, it is found that the study on traditional Korean culture would be competitiveness to create new beauty in contemporary fashion. Traditional beauty of various colors was composed again in modern way by utilizing floral patterns of various colors and applying laser cutting technique to wedding dress. Traditional and modern dresses and laser cutting technique that were utilized to this study would be acceptable for the development of fashion industry, as a moment to accord traditional beauty and modern beauty. The meaning of this study is to express traditional image by a new sight in combination of traditional Korean cultural elements and wedding dress.
