무봉제 여성 니트웨어 디자인 연구

Abstract

This study is conducted to examine seamless knitwear in a technical and emotional way, and it plans and produces merchantable products through the design case analysis of seamless knitwear in order to suggest a new direction of high value-added seamless knitwear and seek for its possibility. Seamless knitwear is the up-to-date knit product that is made by a knitting machine without sewing, and it maintains elasticity of a material itself and is the closest type to the essence of knitwear. The seamless knitwear can satisfy satisfaction of customers with more elegance and individuality and become a method to develop a high value-added design. However, item development is limited because Korean seamless knitwear is considered as a high price product and professional workforce is insufficient. In recent years, some brands that try to develop it with the interest in seamless knitwear are increasingly rising but it is still insufficient. As the study methods, literary data, seamless knitwear catalogs and internet websites, studies on seamless knitwear, which has been launched in Korea since 2006, were used. This study examined general theories, characteristics of seamless knit, knitting techniques of seamless knit, Japanese Shimaseiki’s seamless machine whole garment that is currently used in Korea, German Stoll’s knit&wear knitting machine, seamless knitwear design cases. Seamless knit reaches its peak in the development of a knitting machine of knits, and it is recently selected as a spacesuit, which shows its area is expanding to technical wear requiring cutting-edge science technology. The production of general knitwear has a disadvantage of requiring a lot time and labor for each process according to properties of knits, while seamless knitwear reduces production time without the need of pattern, cutting, and processing steps unlike general knitwear production, so it is suitable to reaction production and can reduce labor costs. Foreign seamless knitwear design characteristics show silhouettes of structural changes and various types of items. Various looks and gages such as fancy yarn and stretch yarn are diversely used. Korean seamless knitwear design characteristics are mainly silhouettes of structural changes in shoulders and hem lines, pullovers, skirts, and dresses, and silky-look materials including wool and acrylic are used. In addition, Korean knitwear is concentrated on 12 gauges. This study has found properties of surface effects by silhouettes, structural changes, and textures according to the body through the analysis of domestic and foreign seamless knitwear design cases. With a focus on 3D silhouettes suitable to body curves, expression of fit and flare, methods of wearing display, structural changes through expressions of exaggeration and reduction, and three characteristics drawn by textures and surface effects, 14 pieces with the themes of ‘Elaborate Line’, ‘Neo-Variation’, and ‘Texture Play’ are planned and manufactured by using SWG-X 12 gauge, a whole garment knitting machine that is commonly used in Korea. First, ‘Elaborate Line’ expressing silhouettes according to the body shows natural beauty of curves softly along with the body line, so it suggests beauty of modern women. Second, ‘Neo-Variation’ expressing structural changes plans mutual display through asymmetric patterns and various items and expresses characteristic and chic styles. Third, ‘Texture Play’ expressing surface effects by textures displays area division through systemicity by means of design points and various items and expresses modern beauty through changes in form and systemicity. The findings of this study are as follows. First, seamless knit can create a silhouette close to a human body, express various emotions through structural changes, and display a new wearing method through textual changes. Second, Korean seamless knitwear is limited to specific items and styles compared to foreign cases. Currently, Korean seamless knitwear is still in the beginning stage of market creation and it is limited to specific items and styles, and passive approaches of distributors are blocking design development and utilization. For the development of Korean seamless knit industries, it is urgent to cultivate knitting experts of knits and develop various items. Third, seamless knit is able to change a labor-intensive industry to the planning suggestion type and a knowledge-intensive industry. Through the changes in production, the seamless knitting can have the effects of cost reduction including time and labor as well as the effects of reaction production and fast reorder production in market changes. This study suggests a new direction for the 21st century knitwear design through a practical approach of seamless knitwear designs, pursues a high value fashion, and contributes to improving national competiveness of fashion industries in order to be a practical research data for seamless knitwear designs.;본 연구는 무 봉 제 니트 웨어 의 기법과 디자인 사례를 고찰하고 국내와 해외 무 봉제 니트 웨어의 디자인 사례를 제시하고, 디자인 기획에 있어 무 봉제 니트 웨어 편 직 기법으로 니트의 장점을 살린 상품성 있는 무 봉제 니트 웨어 를 기획, 제작하여 고부가가치 무 봉제 니트 웨어 디자인의 새로운 방향을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 무 봉제 니트 웨어 는 편 직 기계에서 한 벌의 옷이 완성되어 봉제과정을 거치지 않고 나오는 최신의 니트 제품으로서 소재 본래의 신축성을 유지하는 동시에 운동성과 저 부하 성을 겸비하여 편안한 니트 웨어 의 본질에 가장 가까이 근접한 형태라 할 수 있다. 이러한 무 봉제 니트 웨어 는 고급화, 개성화 되어가는 소비자의 욕구를 충족시켜 줄 수 있으며 고부가가치 디자인 개발을 위한 방안이 될 수 있다. 연구방법으로는 무 봉제 니트 웨어 관련 선행연구와 문헌, 인터넷 사이트의 자료를 통한 문헌고찰을 실시하였다. 무 봉제 니트 웨어의 해외 디자인 사례는 무 봉제 니트 웨어 카탈로그를 중심으로 현재 국내에 잘 알려진 일본 시마세이키(島精機, Shimaseiki)사의 무 봉제 기계 홀가먼트(Whole Garment)와 독일 스톨(Stoll)사의 니트 앤 웨어(Knit & Wear) 편 직기에 의한 제품을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 국내사례는 국내에 실제로 출시된 니트 제품의 실물 273점을 대상으로 하였다. 분석 시기는 무 봉제 니트가 국내에 처음 도입된 2000년 이후 보급이 본격화된 2006년부터 2010년까지로 하였다. 이밖에 무 봉제 니트 웨어 생산공정에 참여하여 생산현장을 직접 촬영하였고 편 직기 및 편 직 관련 프로그램자료를 수합하여 자료로 제시하였다. 무 봉제 니트는 니트 편 직기 발달과정의 최 정점에 있는 것으로 1965년 시마세이키 사의 무 봉제 장갑 편 직 기를 시작으로 1995년 무 봉제 니트 웨어 편 직기 ‘홀가먼트’를 통해 어패럴 분야까지 확장되었다. 최근에는 우주선 실내복으로 선정되는 등 최첨단 과학 기술이 요구되는 테크니컬 웨어 까지 그 영역이 넓어지고 있다. 일반 니트웨어 생산은 편성물의 특성에 맞춰 각 공정에 많은 시간과 인력을 필요로 하는 단점이 있으나 무 봉제 니트 웨어는 일반 니트 웨어 생산 공정과는 달리 패턴, 재단, 가공의 단계를 거치지 않고 생산 소요시간을 단축함으로써 반응생산에 적합하며 인력 비용을 절감할 수 있다. 해외 무 봉제 니트 웨어 디자인 특성은 구조적 변형의 실루엣과 다양한 형태 감의 아이템이 보여지고 있다. 팬시 얀, 스트레치 얀 등 다양한 외관과 게이지가 다양하게 활용되어 인타샤, 부분배색 등 조직 감과 여성, 남성, 아동복에 이르기까지 분포되어 있다. 국내 무 봉제 니트 웨어 디자인 특성은 어깨, 헴 라인의 구조적 변화 실루엣과 풀오버, 스커트, 원피스 아이템이 주류를 이루며, 울, 아크릴 등 매끄러운 외관 의 소재를 사용하고 12게이지에 플레인, 펄 편 조직이 대체적 활용되고 여성복에 집중되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내, 해외 무 봉제 니트웨어 디자인 사례의 분석을 통해 신체에 따른 실루엣, 구조적 변형, 조직에 의한 표면효과의 특성이 나타났다. 인체의 곡선에 맞는 3차원적 입체 실루엣과 피트 앤 플레어 표현, 착 장 연출 방법과 과장, 축소 표현을 통한 구조적인 변형, 조직과 표면효과를 통해 시접이 없어 양면으로 착 장 할 수 있는 리버서블(reversible)과 한 벌의 옷에서 부분적으로 다른 게이지를 표현할 수 있는 다른 게이지 편성 물 및 게이지리스(gaugeless) 니팅이 가능하였다. 이상과 같이 무 봉제 니트 웨어 디자인 사례에서 도출된 3가지 특성을 중심으로 국내에서 보편적으로 사용되는 홀가먼트 편 기인 SWG-X 12게이지를 활용하여 ‘Elaborate Line’, ‘Neo-Variation’, ‘Texture Play’의 테마로 14점을 기획하고 현장에서 프로그래밍과정에 참여하여 작품을 제작하였다. 첫 번째 신체에 따른 실루엣을 표현한 ‘Elaborate Line’은 부드럽게 바디 라인을 따라 이어지는 자연적인 곡선미를 연출하여 현대 여성의 미를 제시하였다. 무 봉제 니트 웨어 에서 표현 될 수 있는 조직을 활용하여 입체적으로 표현한 원피스, 볼레로 형태의 카디건, 원피스 위에 레이어드 착 장 가능한 베스트와 원피스에 암 워머 를 코디 하여 현대 여성의 미를 제시하였다. 두 번째 구조적 변형을 표현한 ‘Neo-Variation’은 비대칭적인 패턴 전개와 다양한 아이템으로 상호 연출을 가능하게 기획하였고 구조적 변화를 둔 개성적이면서 시크 한 스타일로 표현하였다. 무 봉제 니트 웨어 특징을 이용한 시크 한 이미지의 무 봉제 풀오버와 슬랙스를 제작하였다. 밑단에서 소매 부리까지 연결선의 확장과 착 장 시 형성되는 드레이프 성으로 편안한 실루엣을 표현하였고 독특한 비대칭적인 패턴 전개로 다양한 아이템간의 연출을 가능케 한 디자인으로 형태 감과 조직 감의 변화를 통해 현대적인 곡선미를 표현했다.세 번째 조직에 의한 표면효과를 표현한 ‘Texture Play’는 조직 감을 통한 면 분할을 디자인의 포인트로 표현하였다. 무 봉제 니트 웨어 특징을 이용한 모던한 이미지의 무 봉 제 카디건, 풀오버, 스커트, 원피스를 제작하였다. 조직의 조합에 의한 표면효과를 주어 주름, 면 분할 효과 등 편성 테크닉을 활용해 표면에 변화 감을 준 스타일이다. 다양한 아이템간의 연출을 가능하며 형태 감과 조직 감의 변화를 통해 현대적인 미를 표현했다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 무 봉제 니트는 인체의 바디에 가까운 실루엣을 형성할 수 있고 구조적 변화를 통해 다양한 감성을 표현할 수 있으며, 조직의 변화를 통해 새로운 착 장 법을 연출할 수 있었다. 둘째, 국내 무 봉제 니트 웨어 제품은 해외 사례와 비교해 볼 때 특정 아이템과 스타일에 한정적인 형태로 나타나는 것을 알 수 있다. 현재 국내 무 봉제 니트 웨어는 시장형성의 초기단계로 특정 아이템과 스타일에 국한되어 있으며, 유통업체의 소극적인 접근이 디자인개발 및 활용 성을 막고 있는 현실이다. 국내 무 봉제 니트 산업의 발전을 위해서는 니트 편 직 과 관련된 전문 인력의 양성과 다양한 아이템 개발이 시급한 것을 알 수 있다. 셋째, 무 봉제 니트는 지금까지의 노동 집약적 산업 형태에서 기획 제안 형, 지식 집약 산업에의 전환을 가능하게 하였다. 이러한 생산의 변화를 통해 시간의 단축과 인건비 등 원가절감의 효과와 나아가 시장 환경의 변화에 있어서도 반응생산과 빠른 리오더 생산의 효과를 볼 수 있다. 본 연구는 무 봉제 니트 웨어 디자인의 실질적 접근을 통해 21세기 니트 웨어 디자인의 새로운 방향을 제시하고, 패션의 고부가가치를 추구하고, 패션산업의 국가 경쟁력 제고에 이바지 할 수 있으며 무 봉제 니트 웨어 디자인에 실질적인 연구 자료가 될 수 있도록 하였다.
