유행의 장기화 현상에 관한 연구

Abstract

유행은 시대와 사람들의 정서와 사회적 취향을 대변하는 문화 현상 중 하나라는 점에서 중요한 가치를 지닌다. 또한 권력이 집중된 소수의 특정 행동양식이 아니라 불특정 다수의 공분모적 가치관 또는 행위라는 점에서 인류 역사의 진정한 흐름이라고 볼 수도 있다. 따라서 유행의 흐름을 잘 파악 한다면 시대적 관습과 생활 문화를 올바로 이해할 수 있을 것이다. 오늘날 기술이 점점 발달하고 사회가 빠르게 변화하면서 우리 주위의 많은 사물과 현상들이 더욱 가속화된 주기로 생성과 소멸을 거듭하고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 관점에서 오랫동안 유행을 타던 품목인 Jeans가 장기적인 유행으로 지속시킬 수 있는 원인이 무엇인지 규명하고자 한다. Jeans는 어떠한 흐름과 함께 시대 별로 유행을 잘 따라갔는지를 조사하고 현재와 미래의 Jeans가 장기적으로 꾸준히 유행하기 위해서 어떻게 해야 하는지를 규명하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 연구 내용은 첫째, 이론적 배경을 탐구하기 위해 유행의 정의와 유형을 파악하고 유행의 메커니즘을 파악 하기 위해 유행의 발생, 확산, 소멸의 원인과 과정을 분석한다. 둘째, 유행의 주기를 연구하여 유행의 패턴은 어떠한 양상으로 나타나는 가에 대해 조사하고, 유행의 장기화와 그 발생배경에 대해 조사한다. 셋째, 본 연구의 핵심인 Jeans가 왜 장기화되었으며 그러한 현상이 어떻게 생활에 안착될 수 있었는지에 대한 해답을 얻기 위해 Jeans의 심층적 조사연구를 한다. 넷째, 시대별 사회, 문화의 흐름을 조사하고 Jeans의 유행 흐름과 비교 분석을 한다. 다섯째, 앞의 비교 분석을 통하여 Jeans의 지속적 유행을 유지시키기 위한 제언을 한다.;Trends are of great importance in that they represent the social preferences, or "tastes", of a people or a time. Because trends arise not from the decisions of the few with power or authority, but from the commonality among the values of the ordinary many, it can be said that trends, in a sense, represent a flowing of social history. It follows, therefore, that understanding the flow of trends is essential to fully comprehending the customs and cultures of societies. In modern society, technology and rapid social changes have greatly accelerated the flow of trends; that is, the speed at which trends and phenomena come into and fade out of popularity, In light of this fact, this study aims to investigate the conditions that produced the long running popularity of Jeans. The goal of this study is to find out in what ways Jeans adapted and responded to the flow of trends in the past and what must happen in the future for them to maintain their popularity. The research details are as follows: First, to establish a theoretical background concerning the definition and types of trends, and to understand the mechanism of trends by analyzing trends in three steps; occurrence, expansion, and extinction, and the cause and process of each step. Second, to study the period of trends to see what patterns emerge in their cycles, and to research "long runs" and the conditions that lead to their occurrence. Third, to figure out how Jeans were able to stay popular over an extended period of time and just how they garnered such a positive reception from the public. Fourth, research the social and cultural flows of each era in comparison with the popularity of Jeans. Fifth, to evaluate the survey results, and to make an educated prediction of what will have to happen in the future for Jeans to remain the popular products they are today.
