사례분석을 통해 살펴본 넷 아트와 웹 아트의 범주에 관한 연구

Abstract

예술작품을 보기 위해 전시장을 찾지 않더라도 인터넷을 통해 무대와 전시장을 볼 수 있다. 원형의 아우라를 찾기 위한 것이 아니라면 우리는 오늘날 그와 관련된 모든 정보를 네트워크라는 정보망을 통해 만나볼 수 있다. 이렇듯 디지털 기술은 예술을 단지 감상만 하던 것에서 관객의 참여로 완성되는 새로운 창작 패러다임으로 유도하고 있다. 더불어 인터넷의 일반화는 전자예술의 대중화를 시도한다. ‘넷 아트’와 ‘웹 아트’는 네트워크 기반으로서 통신기술의 급속한 발전에 기인하여 파생된 예술의 영역으로 초기작품이 발표된 이후 여전히 개념과 범주에 대해 명확한 정의가 내려지지 않고 있다. 넷 아트와 웹 아트를 다루고 있는 많은 자료들은 이 두 영역에 대해 때로는 동질성을, 때로는 이질성을 논한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 넷 아트와 웹 아트의 모호한 경계를 구분하는 특성을 찾아 정리하여 두 예술영역의 범주에 관해 연구를 하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다.;These days we can appreciate art and search the information about all sort of art news through the internet without being at a museum or galley. If we do not intend to find a round aura, we recently can see all of the information related to it through a network. The digital technology is introducing to a newly made paradigm, which is completed by the participation of audiences from appreciating it only. 'Net art’ and ‘web art’, in a different aspect from the existing art work, changes the relation of author, work, and audiences, and came into the art in the public. Much time and major consent are needed so that the new art could be recognized as the particularity of genre. ‘Net art’ and the ‘web art’ based on network, owed their derivation to the drastic development of communication technology, the definition concerning the concept and area was not clear, although the quarter of a century has been passed since the first work released. This paper has implications in that it has outlined categories of two different artistic areas, by examining similarities and differences of net-art and web-art, which are being used interchangeably.
