소외된 현대인의 모습에 대한 상징적 애니메이션 표현연구

Abstract

Modern society became prosperous in physical conditions such as development of technology and mechanic civilization. On the contrary to the mental conditions, alienation and self-effacement derived as side effects of the modern society. The current phenomenon that puts high emphasis on people' adoption to social circumstances is also another main factor of the alienation. They are in a state of disorder that were occurred in a world of physical rules and social system. The methods and meanings were surged in the current circumstances. Today, many people do something not for the purpose of the living, but for the purpose of doing something. They are anxious because they only see the cult of success and the methods and meanings. So they lose the direction and purpose of their own life. Moreover, nowadays, human beings live in a desolated society since there are many problems present such as high percentage of unemployment, suicide, kidnapping, crimes and the people living without the latitude of mind. My work emphasizes on the effort of people to recover the lost ego and makes it a chance for them to see themselves in a new light. My work describing symbolic factors of the conditions of people in a modern society through animation shows the state of alienation by characters symbolized contemporary people and shifts to each place. The following is the summary of this study: The first part explains the purpose, methods, and area of this study. In the second part, we chase the mental crisis of the current people in the social part and I inserted the picture and animation as a thematic fact of the neglected current affairs. The expressionism artist choose the main theme such as loneliness, anxiety, despair as a psychological base. The distortion of the configuration and overstatement is a non-natural part of the expressionism. In the third, I described the analysis of the animation; elaborated the process of the work. The symbol of the line, color, and figure in the animation explain the idea and feeling realistically and suit to elaborate the anxiety and uncomfortableness through the clarification and virtuality. I illustrated the mirror as an expressional fact that show thing such as space, mask, light and shadow. The symbol is not the simple figure or temperament but it has a function of delivering the essential meaning. The purpose of the bone form is to symbolize the exhausted current people in a social living. Thin, non-weighed, and non-volume character means the real figure of the exhausted people. So to speak, the audience understands the message through the symbolic material in this animation. The audience could access the main purpose of the message through the imaginative space. This work described the inner part of the alienated modern people through the sound, character, and so on. ;현대사회는 기계문명의 발달 등으로 인간의 생활이 윤택해진 반면 정신적으로는 매우 피폐해져 인간소외와 또 다른 문제점을 낳게 되었다. 현대사회가 인간으로 하여금 사회적 적응이란 것을 지나치게 강조한다는 점도 소외의 중요한 원인이다. 인간이 만든 규범과 제도 속에 인간 스스로 그 틀에 얽매이게 되어 자신의 욕망이나 바라는 바가 무엇인지를 알고 있지 못하는 것 같다. 이와 같은 시대 상황 속에 현대인들의 생활은 삶의 의미는 없어지고 수단과 방법이 오히려 본질로 행세하는 일이 많다. 살기 위해서 무엇을 하는 것이 아니라 무엇인가를 하기 위해서 인간들은 살고 있다. 높은 직위와 출세를 위한 수단과 방법에 매달리다 보면 자신의 삶의 목표와 방향을 상실하고 방황하거나 자신의 존재자체에 대한 불안감을 지니게 된다. 본인의 경우를 보면 획일화 된 한국교육방식에서 벗어나 자유롭고 개방적인 교육방식을 가진 프랑스의 유학생활에서 나 자신의 존재에 대해 처음으로 고민했었다. 그들은 대단히 독립적이고 개인주의이나 적어도 자기가 바라는 바가 무엇인지는 알고 있는 것 같다. 우리네 학교의 교육 자체가 매우 강압적이고 지나친 윤리의식을 강조한 나머지 자신의 잠재성과 의식이 결여되는 것 같다. 오늘날 높은 실업률, 자살, 유괴, 범죄 등의 삭막한 시대에 사는 현대인은 자신을 뒤 돌아 볼 수 있는 여유가 없다. 본인의 작품을 통해 현대인의 잃어버린 자아를 되찾는 노력이 필요함을 강조하고 자신의 존재에 대해 재인식 하는 계기로 삼았다. 본인의 작업은 현대사회 속의 인간이 처해 있는 모습을 상징적 요소를 찾아 애니메이션을 통해 표현 하였으며 현대인을 상징하는 인물과 각각 다른 공간의 이야기를 통하여 현대인의 소외상황을 나타낸다. 본 연구의 요약은 아래와 같다. 제 1장 서론에서는 본 연구의 목적과, 연구방법 및 범위에 대하여 서술하였다. 제 2장에서는 이론적 배경인 현대인의 잃어버린 얼굴로써 현대사회의 인간상황을 사회와의 관계 속에서 이해하고 현대인의 정신적 위기의식을 파악했다. 또한 소외된 현대인의 모습을 주제로 한 회화, 애니메이션 작품 사례를 다루었다. 표현주의 화가들의 주된 주제는 고독, 불안, 절망 등의 내적 심리로 다루어졌고 형태의 왜곡과 과장은 표현주의의 반 자연주의적 특성이라고 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 자코메티나 뭉크 등 인간의 모습을 소재로 하는 작업들을 살펴보았다. 제 3장에서는 애니메이션 표현에서 작품을 분석하고 작품의 전개에 대한 설명을 다루었다. 애니메이션의 움직이는 선과 색상, 형태와 상징들은 아이디어나 감정을 현실적으로 나타낼 수 있고, 명확성이나 생동감을 통해 위압감, 불안감을 표현하기에 적합하다. 또한 본인의 작품을 구성하고 있는 상징적 표현요소로 공간, 가면, 빛과 그림자, 거울에 대해 서술하였다. 상징은 어떤 ‘사물’에 대하여 단순히 형상이나 빛깔과 크기만으로 사물의 성질을 나타내는 것이 아니라 그것을 매개로 하여 다른 것을 알게 하는 작용을 가진 것으로서 본질적 의미전달이라는 기능적 가치를 지니게 된다. 캐릭터를 통해 가늘고 부피도 없고 무게도 없는 실체의 모습을 뼈대형식으로 표현한 것은 사회생활에 지쳐 있는 위태로운 현대인을 상징한다. 즉 감상자는 상징물을 통해서 작품 속에 있는 메시지를 이해하게 된다. 본인의 작업은 주관적인 성격이 강하며 불안한 시대 속에 사는 현대인의 소외와 심리를 사운드, 캐릭터, 여러 가지 사물 등을 통하여 상징적으로 표현하고자 한다.
