dc.description.abstract | This paper presents the design of Viterbi decoder for European Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) receiver and performance simulation in AWGN channel. DVB is the European digital broadcasting service standards. Recently, DVB has been researched by many countries and is available in service. In this paper, I designed the De-mapper, De-interleaver and Viterbi decoder in Verilog HDL and confirmed the functionality through the C++ and RTL simulation. And I simulated bit error rate (BER) performance dependent on code rate and Eb/No in AWGN channel. This paper show the BER performance improvement about 1dB to compared with EN 300 42l, but BER performance reduced about 0.3dB to compared with EN 300 744. And the simulation results show the BER improvement using remove the bias for branch-metric calculation and using the trace-start state from converged path. And I try to apply using Sync byte, but performance is not improved. | - |
