현대 중국어 신조어 연구

Abstract

사회의 발전과 변화는 언어의 어휘체계에서 가장 먼저 반영된다. 중국은 개혁 개방 정책을 실시한 후 정치·경제·문화·교육 등 각 분야에 걸쳐 빠르게 변화하였다. 이에 언어에서도 새로운 대상이나 개념을 나타내기 위해 수많은 신조어들이 생성되었다. 본 논문은 중국이 개혁·개방 노선을 확정지은 1980년 이후에 나타난 신조어들을 초보 자료로 삼고, 본격적으로 사회의 발전을 이루는 1990년대부터 오늘날까지의 신조어를 중점적 대상으로 하여, 중국의 사회 현상과 함께 고찰해 보고자 하였다. 먼저 신조어는 다음과 같이 정의된다. 첫째, 신조어는 형태에서든 의미에서든 '새로움'을 기본적인 특징으로 한다. 둘째, 신조어는 일정 기간동안 사회 구성원들에게 안정적으로 사용되어야 한다. 셋째, 신조어는 매스컴과 일반 서적에 꾸준히 사용됨으로써, 사회 교제에 영향을 미친다. 또한 신조어는 여러 가지 방법에 의해 만들어지게 되는데, 크게 다음과 같이 나눌 수 있다. 첫째, 기존의 형태소나 단어를 가지고 새롭게 조합하여 만드는 방법 둘째, 기존의 단어에 새로운 뜻을 가미하여 의미를 확장시키는 방법 셋째, 다음절 단어를 축약하여 새로운 형태를 만드는 방법 넷째, 지역 방언의 어휘와 외국어 어휘를 흡수하여 사용하는 방법 이렇게 생성된 신조어를 살핌으로써 다음과 같은 중국의 사회상을 알 수 있었다. 정치 부분에 있어서는 사람들의 권익을 보호하고 적극성을 유발시키고자 사회주의 민주정치 확립에 주력하고 있는데, 이에 따라 사람들의 정치 참여의식과 민주의식이 향상되었다. 경제 부분에서는 국내 시장의 활성화와 대외 개방을 통하여 비약적인 경제 발전을 이루게 되었고, 종전과는 달리 상업계와 금융계가 활성화되었다. 사회 부분에서는 여성들의 지위가 향상되고 성 관념이 변화하면서 전통적인 가정관과 결혼관이 흔들리고 있으며, 노인 문제가 대두됨에 따라 이들을 위한 여러 가지 복지 제도와 시설이 생겨났다. 또 팽배해진 배금주의 사상으로 인해 사회 곳곳에서는 각종 부정부패와 범죄 행위가 일어나고 있다. 교육 분야에서는 교육의 보급과 인재 양성을 위한 다양한 정책들이 강구되고 새로운 형태의 교육 시설과 학문이 생겨났다. 반면, 학력과 학벌에 대한 인식이 바뀌면서 입시 교육의 폐단이 나타나고 유학을 떠나는 사람들도 급증하고 있다. 문화 부분에서는 물질문화뿐 아니라 정신문화에 대한 관심도 높아졌으며, 전반적으로 최고급·편의성·개성 그리고 건강을 추구하는 이른바 선진국형 생활양식과 소비 성향을 나타낸다. 본 논문은 신조어를 중국의 사회 현상과 관련하여 살피고 있어 신조어에 대한 지식뿐만 아니라 아울러 현대 중국의 사회상까지도 함께 이해할 수 있다는 데 의의가 있다. 신조어를 학습하고 연구하는 이들에게 작은 도움이 될 수 있길 기대한다.;The development and transformation of a society at a time, is engraved within its modification of linguistics earlier than any other. Ever since its reform and open market policy, there has been significant pace of changes made in contemporary China in terms of its political, economical, cultural and education system. In par with these changes and as a medium to express new subject or concept, there have been countless stocks of new words created. The thesis investigates the current language system of China coinciding with its social phenomena through 1990s in which it has begun to make its earnest social growth, along with cases of some of the words that was newly formed since its reform after 1980s. First of all, new words, called coined word words, is defined as follows: 1. Coined words are characterized by its newness regardless in its form or idea. 2. Coined words ought to be used consistently and regularly by the members of the society for a given period of time. 3. Coined Words have various social implications by being carried through the media or through medium of books and writings. Coined words are also formed by various means of the following process: 1. A process of combining existing morphemes or vocabularies. 2. A process of expanding its nuance by adding new meaning to existing words. 3. A process of reduction by subdividing ambiguous words and thus to produce new breeds. 4. A process of hybridization of local dialect and foreign vocabulary. The following has been found in observing Chinese social phenomenon, after investigating coined words, which were formed by the processes described above. In political aspect, there has been advancement in awareness towards democratic process by Chinese public as well as its political participation, all as a result of governments efforts to focus on Socialist-based Democratic system that could protect civil rights and encourage diverse participation. On the other side, the vitalizations of domestic market and the Reform policy have brought the significant progress in its economic development, along with newly energized commerce and finance industry. Enhancement in social system: allowed women to have better status; modified its traditional family and marriage structure in accordance with altered notions on gender; and produced various welfare system and its related facilities in response to the wellness of senior citizens. Roaring sense of materialism has caused yet increased numbers of crimes and corruptions across the region. Efforts on establishing diverse policies of educational system have brought new forms of educational facilities and academics that could uniformly distribute education and promote special training of future prospects. The significance of the Thesis examining coined words along with Chinas social system, lies on not only gaining knowledge on the current status of newly coined words, but also to understand Chinas social phenomenon that is unfolding cohesively with such development. I wish for those who study and research coined words that the Thesis be a helpful guide.
