딕토글로스를 활용한 쓰기 수업이 형태 오류 감소에 미치는 효과 연구

Abstract

지금까지 한국어 교육에서는 한국의 영어 교육과는 달리 딕토글로스의 효과에 관한 연구가 그다지 많지 않았다. 또한 비교적 연구가 많이 된 중국인 한국어 학습자와는 달리 광둥어를 쓰는 홍콩의 한국어 학습자에 대한 연구는 그동안 거의 전무했다고 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 딕토글로스 수업이 홍콩의 한국어 학습자들의 쓰기에 미치는 효과를 알아보는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 즉 본 논문의 연구 문제는 딕토글로스를 활용한 수업이 홍콩의 한국어 학습자의 쓰기에서 형태 오류 감소에 긍정적 영향을 미치는가를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 홍콩의 한 대학기관에서 한국어를 학습하고 있는 광둥어가 모국어인 한국어 학습자 중 16명을 대상으로 딕토글로스 수업을 제공하고 딕토글로스 수업이 홍콩의 한국어 학습자의 쓰기의 형태 오류 감소에 미치는 영향을 고찰하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서 검증하고자 한 연구 문제와 연구 가설은 아래와 같다. 연구문제 1. 딕토글로스를 활용한 수업은 학습자의 쓰기의 형태 오류 감소에 긍정적 영향을 미치는가? 연구가설 1. 딕토글로스 수업을 받은 학습자의 작문은 형태 오류가 감소될 것이다. 연구를 위하여 홍콩의 대학 부속 기관에서 한국어를 부학사 과정으로 전공하고 있는 학습자 16명을 대상으로 딕토글로스 수업을 실시하였다. 딕토글로스 수업을 실시하기 전에 사전 작문시험을 실시하였고 딕토글로스 수업을 완료한 후에 사후 작문시험을 실시하여 오류의 개수를 비교하였다. 환산 오류 개수는 Nvivo프로그램을 사용하여 집계하였고 통계적 검증은 대응표본 t-검정을 실시하여 결과를 얻었는데 본 실험의 연구 결과는 아래와 같다. 딕토글로스 수업은 학습자의 쓰기에서 오류 개수 감소에 영향을 미쳤으나 이는 통계적으로 유의미하지 않았다. 하지만 통계적 검증을 통해 어휘 오류 감소에는 딕토글로스 수업이 긍정적으로 영향을 미친다는 결론을 얻었다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 통해 딕토글로스 수업이 형태 오류 중 어휘의 오류 개수 감소에 긍정적 영향을 미친다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 한국어 쓰기 교육 분야에서 딕토글로스의 효용성을 알아보고자 하였는데 딕토글로스 수업이 쓰기의 오류 감소에 있어서 일정 부분 효과가 있음을 입증하였다. 이러한 본 연구를 시작으로 국내뿐만 아니라 국외 한국어 학습자의 쓰기에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 객관적인 연구가 앞으로 많이 나오기를 기대한다.;A few number of research related to the improvement of Korean learner's writing using Dictogloss has been published so far, especially in Korean education field. This study investigates whether Dictogloss, a classroom activity where learners are required to reconstruct a short text by listening and noting down key words, has positive effects on the reduction of grammatical, lexical, and spelling errors (i.e. form errors) in Korean writing. The primary research question is as follows; 1. Does Dictogloss affect the reduction of form errors in Korean learners’ writing in Hong Kong? In order to answer this question, an experiment was conducted with 16 Korean learners who were studying the intermediate level of a higher diploma Korean programme in one university in Hong Kong. All participants were asked to do two writing tasks for a pre-test and a post-test. A comparison was done between the two writings afterwards in order to confirm the effectiveness of Dictogloss on the reduction of form errors. The results of the study are as follows; First, there was a reduction in the three forms of errors in the post-test after the implication of Dictogloss although it was not statistically significant. Second, lexical error had been improved largely among the three kinds of errors and the difference was shown to have statistically significance. In conclusion, Dictogloss facilitates the form errors’ reduction particularly in the lexical error aspect. According to the survey, most of the participants had positive feedbacks about using Dictogloss in class and agreed that it can facilitate their writing and listening skills. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using Dictogloss in classroom environment and shows that Dictogloss reduced the number of lexical error in students' writing. This study has contributed a useful strategy for the improvement of students' writing in a foreign language-learning environment and proposed some suggestions for future research on Dictogloss.
