현대패션 '발레리나 룩(Ballerina Look)'에 나타난 발레리나 이미지 연구

Abstract

In fashion that romantic trend is bullish in the late twentieth century, several designers allowed ballerina look to appear in their own collection with having ballerina's romantic image as the origin of inspiration. Ballerina Look refers to the fashion style, which was completed with the fluttering chiffon with feminine item of being reminded of ballerina, the creased skirt with mesh material, the tight upper garment of emphasizing the waist, and the flat shoes. This ballerina look results from the psychology of a yearning and imitation for ballerina's fantastic image that women have, and can be grasped as phenomenon fueled by population of ballet. Accordingly, this is a study on formation and recognition of ballerina image, which became a motive of 'ballerina look,' which is one of modern fashion trend. First of all, it begun from the proposition as saying that ballerina look is what borrowed the romantic ballet item in the 19th century and the ballerina image in the romantic era, and performed an in-depth research on the historical significance and origin of modern fashion trend called ballerina look. And, in this process, it elicited aesthetic characteristics of ballet elements, which were shown in the ballerina look, and analyzed on with which aspect the romantic ballet and ballerina image are borrowed or embodied in modern fashion style. To specifically analyze the ballerina image, which was indicated in ballerina look, it divided romantic ballet costumes, which were borrowed in ballerina look, into romantic tutu and toeshoes, and analyzed a case that each item was reproduced. Through this, it could discover the romantic tutu, which is embodied in modern fashion style, and the early toe-shoes, which appeared in the romantic ballet era, and could elicit characteristics of pure, fantastic, and Femme fragile images, which are immanent inside it. Through the above research process, the influence of romantic ballet could be discovered, which is vivid in the middle of popular trend in today's fashion. Also, ballet could be known to be not what stays simply in the artistic genre of the past, but to be possibly reanalyzed and creatively reborn in the middle of modern culture. The significance of this study can be said to have proved ultimately that romantic ballet lives and breathes as peculiar image amid today's culture and that its cultural value is being continued.;20세기말 로맨틱 트렌드가 강세를 보이는 패션에서 여러 디자이너들은 발레리나의 로맨틱한 이미지를 영감의 원천으로 삼고 발레리나 룩을 자신의 컬렉션에 등장시켰다. 발레리나 룩(Ballerina Look)이란 발레리나를 연상시키는 페미닌 아이템으로 하늘거리는 쉬폰이나 망사 소재로 주름 잡힌 스커트, 허리를 강조하는 타이트한 상의, 플랫슈즈 등으로 완성된 패션 스타일을 일컫는다. 이러한 발레리나 룩은 여성들이 가진 발레리나의 환상적 이미지에 대한 동경과 모방 심리에서 기인하며, 발레의 대중화에 힘입은 현상으로 파악할 수 있다. 이에 본 논문은 현대 패션 트렌드의 하나인 ‘발레리나 룩’의 모티브가 된 발레리나 이미지의 형성과 인식에 대한 연구이다. 먼저 발레리나 룩이 19세기 로맨틱 발레 아이템과 로맨틱 시대의 발레리나 이미지를 차용한 것이라는 전제로부터 출발하며, 발레리나 룩이라는 현대 패션 트렌드의 역사적 의미와 기원에 대한 심층적 연구를 하였다. 그리고 이 과정에서 발레리나 룩에 나타난 발레 요소들의 미적 특성을 도출하여 로맨틱 발레와 발레리나 이미지가 현대 패션 스타일에 어떤 양상으로 차용되거나 형상화되는지에 대해 분석하였다. 구체적으로 발레리나 룩에 나타난 발레리나 이미지를 분석하기 위해 발레리나 룩에 차용된 로맨틱 발레 의상을 로맨틱 튀튀, 토슈즈로 나누고 각각의 아이템이 재현된 사례를 분석하였다. 이를 통해 현대 패션 스타일에 형상화되는 로맨틱 튀튀와 로맨틱 발레 시대에 등장한 초기의 토슈즈를 발견할 수 있었으며, 그 안에 내재된 순수, 환상, 팜므 프라질 이미지 특성을 도출할 수 있었다. 이상의 연구과정을 통해서 오늘날 패션의 대중적 트렌드 속에서 생동하고 있는 로맨틱 발레의 영향력을 발견할 수 있었다. 또한 발레가 단지 과거의 예술적 장르에 머무르는 것이 아니라 현대 문화 속에서 재해석되고 창의적으로 재탄생 할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 궁극적으로는 로맨틱 발레가 오늘날 문화 속에서 고유의 이미지로 살아 숨 쉬며 그 문화적 가치가 이어지고 있음을 증명하였다는데 본 논문의 의의가 있다고 하겠다.
